Feels more like an Epee than a Rapier by how you're using it. A Rapier is great at slashing as well as stabbing. As an Epee fencer this is a really cool concept, I've always wanted a duelist type hero that uses stabbing focused weapon.

Your moves seemed very good to me but you forgot one essential move, which is an execution where you draw a Z on the enemy.
Not bad, but unrealistic to the proper use of a Rapier, which indeed made great use of the slashing edge. Lights should be slashes and Heavies should be stabs, as it only makes sense. Moreover, should be right handed, right guard being perhaps Terza or Mista, top guard should be Prima, and left guard should be a Quarta, aa would be proper Rapier style. They would most likely not be wearing too much armour, so faster dodges and less health would be appropriate. Do consider more feinting options, with the unique ability to feint from light given the rightsituation. Dodge attacks should all be lights, and thus slashes, as would make sense. The deflect is a good idea, but with a rapier it would make more sense for a damaging stun, a punch to the face with the hand guard of the rapier would be just fine. His zone is perfectly fine, but i would suggest a very wide arc, yet medium in depth. Might i suggest also more bleed? Give him longer combos, an infinite chain with his lights, which can be interupted with his unique dodge or a heavy. As well, make his dodge nack his bash input, forcing him forward which can be easily punished if he misses. Make his dodge forward, however, a grab. His lights should be able to be charged, making it a heavy. His heavies should be able to be charged as well, variable. Make the emotes more subtle, but with more flair. I would suggest something such as the classic Rapier salute, or perhaps a snip at Zorro for a paid emote. Now, the feats should be something interesting, unique as with any hero, coming with other knight/assassin classic feats as filler. Tier one, a coin toss ability would be funny, instantly changing the guard focus of the targeted enemy to the coin. Might only take them a second to snap back to you, in which you've already started a combo or hit with a light attack. Tier two, i think an automatic feat would be nice, every so often when you throw a hero he'll do a small cut, dealing perhaps 7 damage and 3 bleed. Or, maybe, something that turns a heavy parry into a light parry, and a light parry into... god knows what, enough for a fully charged lunge i suppose? Tier three, something a bit esoteric, like shield, or resistance, or revenge gain. Now that would be interesting, the ability to gain revenge while only fighting one opponent, automatic. Or, if thats not fun, shield charges, four charges of 30 shield. When one is depleted, it takes 3 seconds for the next charge to appear, and a long cooldown after every charge is depleted - this version would be triggered by the player. Tier four, truly a normal thing, auto parry everything for 5 or 10 seconds, which is paused, but not stopped entirely, if you're fighting more than one person. Meaning, of course, if you kill the second person, the timer starts up again in the same place, rounded up for ease of use, so you haven't completely wasted it by a raider appearing right after you use the damned thing. There, that should be satisfactory for a good and decently balanced hero.
I 110 percent agree with all of this, using lights as slashes and cuts would make perfect sense. If you look at some rapier duels in real life, duelist don't only go for stabs. Yes, it's a finishing blow, but they mix cuts in to weaken their opponents. In fact, they should make a mechanic for that character where he applys defense nerf if he lands his finishing light, nerfing your defense by 10%. Whether that's a feat or not is up for debate. But the point is cuts can be implemented into a rapier. Let's not fall into a rapier stab only trope.
@@mr.pistachio2762 That's why they are both made faster, as per one of my many paragraphs. Besides, they should both be close slashes made from a static position, not wound back, especially as a light attack, making them harder to react to.

Give him a "deflect" where he gently uses his other hand to maneuver their blade and then thrust or uses his blade to direct their weapon around him into his thrust.
Think you've mentioned this idea an older video, but i think it works with the personality and playstyle of the character. Perhaps the idea of a taunt move that gives him an entire new feature/property to certain moves or new moves all together. Like maybe add the counter property during the charged portion of his attacks. Would maybe have to have a couple more charged attacks to make more use of it doing this. Of course the effect wouldn't be infinite, maybe just 1 or 2 counters moves that are used up even if an attack doesn't land. Depending how the taunt is accessed this would have to be changed. Was thinking of a fools guard looking stance where if you successfully land an attack you can taunt directly after. Not fully thought through what the stance would include, just know it would be more of a risky kyoshin stance, with no guards but each input doing something different. Also just wanna say i love your videos and all the stuff you come up with is great, keep up the good work and we'll keep coming back. Thanks for the joy you bring

I'd like to see that move where you essentially bait a thrust to your own chest to then side step while "t-posing" to counter as this character doge attack. Also Shaolin's hold stance, but it's only accessible from light and you can only exit by canceling, dodging, the second heavy or light (with crushing counter)
I think an amazing idea for a rapier character would be giving them a parry dagger they hide behind their back. They could use it on guardbreak or as a chain finisher as a hard to pull off high damage option. Or they could alternatively use it as a low damage parry punish.
I though about a hero like this a while back. I figured he’d have to have a unique parry animation to not bend his sword. Like he wouldn’t be able to completely stop Highlander’s top heavy in its tracks for example. Maybe he’d have to redirect
I love it. Now let’s make it more viable in group fights. This feels like an assassin/hybrid, and utilizes a lot of dodging so let’s give him dodge recovery on his attacks. Forward Dodge: Forward dodge light should be undodge-able. Bash should chain into light, with the option of going for the second in-chain heavy after a bash. Heavy Parry Punishes: Pressing guard-break should perform a quick hilt bash that blinds and guarantees a light but you can also risk it and go for an un-guaranteed heavy instead. (see Light Parry Punishes) Light Parry Punishes: I feel his parry punishes should be special. So let’s give them some special properties, Top is an unblock-able pin but deals slightly less damage. Left should be a slash that inflicts bleed. Right is a stab that deals more damage but has no additional benefits. Deflect: I love it, but seems easily punishable in group fights so let’s say pressing heavy after deflect gives the pin, but pressing zone with perform a quick unblock-able side slash with a large arc and instead of resetting to neutral like the pin, give this move dodge recovery. All-Guard: I feel like giving this character an all guard stance as an option for recovery or dodging can be extremely cool, he takes a step back and holds the blade up in front of his face like Count Dooku. Then you get some unique all-guard attacks. You can simply dodge out of it, light will come from the top as a quick stab, heavy will come out as a slower but harder hitting heavy from the left. Zone will perform a right swing in a large arc that tracks dodges.
I'm sure we won't, but I want a martial artist or just hand to hand fighter, all the moves exist in the game to fill the move pool, kicks, punches, grapples.

These are all great ideas. However it seems you're using it moreso like an epee, as rapiers do indeed have a cutting edge that is too often underestimated (or outright disregarded) in media. In the Spanish rapier teaching of Verdadera Destreza we can see slashes being used prominently (mainly as counterattacks when escaping a bind) as ways to attack the soft areas like the neck and face, usually with a really characteristic wide overhead moulinette to gain momentum with the blade. Personally, I'd make the chain heavies be the aforementioned slashes (sides could have a really steep diagonal trajectory so it's still trash in team fights) and have the heavy parry punish be a quick, shallow cut across the neck area as opposed to another thrust. (Alternatively, you could have the lights be quick, shallow tip slashes with mainly just wrist and elbow movement, and have the heavies be beefier thrusts) As for the forward bash I personally believe that having it instead be a grab (either shoulder or shirt neck) with the offhand into a pommel strike to the face would be more proper rapier use than halfswording it. Overall really cool ideas, big fan of the different unique punishes. I've been wanting a rapier hero for a long time but sadly I don't think we'll get another knight hero. Who knows though? Great video as usual!
Although i find it interesting the design you made, i think this hero would not peform in Dominion. The lack of hitbox on the sides of the caracter would make him weak against anti-gank and it seems to me that he needs a little bit o commitment to get to the good part, which also means that he'll underperform in ganking sotuations.
i would give him some sort of hidden stance ability, since i know in fencing they often try to twirl their weapon to make their swings more difficult to counter
Should they have a bash? Im not really vers in all types of fencing. I also think they should have a dodge forward deflect that does something interesting.
Got any ideas for a whip based hero , maybe rope dart .. Tryna see if you just know how to use everything casually But a rope dart hero maybe has braces on their wrist to parry and block And maybe the dart could be used like a dagger and the rope to grapple Little much but maybe charged heavy with extended range only for long range strike. maybe a feat to pull them. Maybe for zone they spin it around them until you let go or get parried
Executions ideas: Reposte He steps back from a blind swing of a enemy, Then again at there second swing and then impales there neck Tardius Quickly ducks a swing, slashing across the gut of the enemy, and then when they fall to there knees he impales through there skull Always a step ahead he rips his rapier out there shoulder/chest, then sweeps them off there feet with a Quick dash and then sweeps there leg then stabs through the back of there skull (through there forehead if they are executed from behind)
Ive cut through tatami like any other sword. The idea that rapiers cant slash or cut is actually criminal. Overall though, something rapier users had often is a cape-like cloak hanging off of a shoulder that they were able to use for distractions or stuns. I think that would add the proper uniquness to this character.
Love the idea ,would love to know feats, I know this one might not go with the theme of it but just a idea of a feat I have not seen before, what if for a second feat he went Invisible. And can get a free light attack or run away it's called Blade in the dark , he can only use it if he is not locked on to its also timed so he cannot stay in it forever and it would have a cooldown It would be meant for swapping out with a teammate out of a fight or to get one free out of lock hit that's a light to get a little bit of a starting Advantage. heavy attacks can not be used in, it I want to be on part. With shaolin's second feat so maybe a little bit longer cooldown then shaolin's
My idea for a rapier hero (or just give it to pk) is a forward dodge bash that does 10 dmg like shugoki. The move would be a forward thrust attack that is a chain starter. Perhaps we can give some hero’s the same treatment so that they all don’t have the same boring bash into light 🤔
Hm idk how having only one move with lateral hitbox would work on today’s meta. We don’t want another sohei situation where the hero drastically underperforms

Should they have a bash? Im not really vers in all types of fencing.
I also think they should have a dodge forward deflect that does something interesting.
Super cool. Hope they add this
ppl underestimate the rapiers ability to cut, it's gnarly but the low dmg is still fun for gimmick sake
SEND THIS TO UBI RIGHT NOW!
I would like to see a Cosack hero with a saber and a whip that would be crazy.
Lights should be slashes, since war rapiers were able to cut better than specialized stabbing rapiers in bloodsport
I can only Imagine, ONLY reason is probably lack of blade customization, small blade, won’t change much
Fear the rapier.
I've always been confused as to why Ubisoft hasn't introduced a rapier hero to For Honor, but hopefully this video might inspire them!
Got any ideas for a whip based hero , maybe rope dart ..
Tryna see if you just know how to use everything casually
But a rope dart hero maybe has braces on their wrist to parry and block
And maybe the dart could be used like a dagger and the rope to grapple
Little much but maybe charged heavy with extended range only for long range strike. maybe a feat to pull them.
Maybe for zone they spin it around them until you let go or get parried
Follow up , stances are popular ATM, maybe a stance where they swing it around them
Executions ideas:
Reposte
He steps back from a blind swing of a enemy, Then again at there second swing and then impales there neck
Tardius
Quickly ducks a swing, slashing across the gut of the enemy, and then when they fall to there knees he impales through there skull
Always a step ahead
he rips his rapier out there shoulder/chest, then sweeps them off there feet with a Quick dash and then sweeps there leg then stabs through the back of there skull (through there forehead if they are executed from behind)
It would be a crime to put in a fancy tooth pick user before they put in a spear fighter that can actually use one
brooooooo this guy needs to be hired by ubisoft
This is perfect
Oh hell yeah I can't wait to rapier
Ive cut through tatami like any other sword. The idea that rapiers cant slash or cut is actually criminal. Overall though, something rapier users had often is a cape-like cloak hanging off of a shoulder that they were able to use for distractions or stuns. I think that would add the proper uniquness to this character.
Love the idea ,would love to know feats,
I know this one might not go with the theme of it but just a idea of a feat I have not seen before, what if for a second feat he went Invisible. And can get a free light attack or run away
it's called Blade in the dark ,
he can only use it if he is not locked on to
its also timed so he cannot stay in it forever and it would have a cooldown
It would be meant for swapping out with a teammate out of a fight or to get one free out of lock hit that's a light to get a little bit of a starting Advantage. heavy attacks can not be used in,
it I want to be on part.
We don’t want another sohei situation where the hero drastically underperforms
cool concept
It should have a hidden stans as well
Too complicated, can’t wait for the next bash undodgeable mix character
Ngl that looks sick
IDC about his moveset, make him flamboyiant, very!
Great content, can you do the same but for a character with no weapon, or just one, who fights mainly with his hands, like on the enemy's energy points?
I hope they do a fun rapier hero.
We need this
Really hope that they make that the last assassin or last knight vangaurd hero
Its so unique i feel like buying this now. Make your own game man. Imma pay 100 euro for that no shit
Hire this man
I was thinking about hero with musket with bayonet
(yes I know that is unreal idea, but pirate exist)
It could be awesome UBI ❤️
I always imagined a rapier hero. Not as good as you did tho.
Give him the job aleady Ubisoft.
Based takes
As a rep 600+ roster main this is literally the ONLY thing that will make me come back to FH.
I think ive finally broke free guys...
This whole year has been awful for FH. Interest is officially gone.
Maybe the new outlander could be a rapier user, the elegance of the weapon could be great for a female character
