- This is one of my favourite singers. he has a fantastic voice, just a shame we had to loose him so young.
I have bought all of his cd's and dvd. if you like him too, then buy them also, well worth the money.

Never heard this song before. However, I've been singing it at home and in the future will be one of my sing a long songs after a dinner party. What a song!

This is my parents 'song'. They are both 84, and Dad has Alzheimers. It's the cruellest of diseases that has stolen my Mum's lovely gentle husband and replaced him with a stranger. Sometimes when we play this, she gets him back for just a moment, and he is once again that tall, handsome dark haired lad in uniform who sang this to her and stole her heart. Love. It's the answer to everything.
My husband is always singing The answer and has dementia .but his voice isn’t as good as it was

I agree had a fab voice my mum lived in spain and loved him .unfortunately I lost my mum in june . We go to tenerife and a lot of the artist knew David how sad taken too young

What a great voice I play this song quite often very much underrated in my opinion better voice than Tom Jones but the later got the brakes unfortunately for David Reading about him from many years ago apparently he was a very lovely man and also his wife was a lovely lady who misses David every day and when he passed away the said IF ONLY HEAVEN HAD A PHONE

My dad passed away last year, He used to love whistling away to this song. Such lovely memories ❤😢
His songs have such a strong and emotional hold in my memory. I remember listening and singing along with them with my grandparents when i was very young. Sadly they are not with me anymore but when i listen to david alexander i remember those days like it was yesterday. An incredible voice that made a huge impact on me.

The best singer to come out of Wales, what lovely clear words. You cannot tell what half of these modern singers are singing. David come back and learn these young singers how to sing. We will never forget you, our loss is heavens gain. RIP David.

M husband knew Davids family in New Brighton on the Wirral. he said he was very charismatic but very humble and generous , a truly outstanding singer who never got the recognition e deserved.
Played this at my Mums funeral last year, she loved this song and she literally was MY answer to everything, I miss her terribly and cry when I hear this song, beautiful words ❤

This man was one of the most fantastic singers I ever heard, his voice so powerful, years ago he used to sing in a place called Amanda's in Tenerife Adeji if ever you go in you will see his gold record on the wall, and if you ask the compare to sing it he will sing the song , the Answer, because it was his friend, and David would be proud, of him god bless 🤍💙

I'm 28, and my nan used to always play david Alexander songs god bless her soul. She absolutely loved this one and would sing to the top of her voice. I'm so glad she introduced me to his music as he had an amazing voice. So much better than the dreadful music they produce nowadays. Miss you nan ❤

I met this man when i was working at a night club he performed at, he was a lovely man, he tried to give 5 pounds for selling his records on reception, and a good singer witch at the tender age of 19 i didnt apreciate, i do now.
We called him uncle derick he stayed at our house every weekend all my life from birth singing in Yorkshire (my dad was Welsh) I miss him so much I play him every night xx

he lived not far from me his wife had a puppet duck and made a single you can watch it on youtube is called googie the liverpool duck david died in 1995 the same year as my mum and his grave is close to my mums so always visit him when i go and see my mum x

A friend from England sent me a recommendation to listen to David, l had not heard of him in the United States.Needless to say l was blown away with his hauntingly beautiful voice. I was able to hear him on TH-cam, then promptly sent to England for his CD, Loved everything ,especially A working man l am, and The answer to every thing. Was devastated to learn of his death, but his beautiful voice will live on. Valerie Gilbert.
