  • Watch This KILL BILL poster gets its folio folds flattened. Chris Cloutier shows the delicate process of Linen backing a vintage original poster. Posterfix flattens out the folds and provides an archival backing which is suitable for framing and display, trading and selling.

    Looking great. Video format/editing reminds me of the early 2000s.

    Question, what type of markers are you using for the touch up of the poster? I see you using a black marker ,but what type ? or what can be used to touch up the posters?

    I really enjoyed this. I found your channel while trying to research a way to safely flatten double sided Star Wars posters I picked up in a thrift store.
    Can this method be used (The paste alone) without the linen to flatten and stiffen double-sided posters for two-sided framing?

    Hello. Enjoy the videos. Question. I picked up an original enter the dragon movie poster. It was glued to cardboard years back. Have you ever tried to remove one from the cardboard which the poster was glued? If so any pointers of just leave it.

      Unless you are willing to pay a professional to remove it with chemicals and give it archival treatment, just leave it. Posters weren't meant to last forever.

    Good job. I thought that all the newer posters were two sided? Can they be linen backed if two-sided?

    • @posterfixchannel

      Mostly no. The two sided posters often do not expand or absorb the wheat paste, and cant be linen backed. some can..it is hit or miss. risky all 'round.

    I have a 1976 poster that I mailed to 3-time Indianapolis 500 winner Johnny Rutherford to have him sign it for me with a Sharpie. He signed it and returned it to me, but the poster now has small creases on one side, apparently from shipping. Like an idiot, I rolled up the poster and just shipped it in a rectangular cardboard shipping box. I didn't think it would do any damage, but the poster now how small creases that correspond to the shipping container on one side. Lesson learned, next time I will only ship in the round poster mailing containers. How do I get these creases out of the poster without damaging it? Can I just use a hot iron, and maybe lightly dampen the poster to remove the creases? Not sure what to do. I don't want to ruin this poster, as it is 46 years old, and I plan on displaying it in my home. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

      Anything you try to do will ruin it. You have not learned your lesson at all. Send it to a professional, and pay for it to be restored.

    After doing this to flatten the print, can it be rolled and placed in a tube without coming apart?

    • @posterfixchannel
      @posterfixchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the posters are always rolled and shipped to the customer in sturdy tubes.

      @@posterfixchannel I have a French poster from the movie Platoon coming in from France in a few weeks and it is folded. I am going to send it off later this year to be signed by Willam Defoe and I sort of would like to get it flattened so I can ship it to him in a poster tube.

    I have a movie poster that u can get the wrinkles out. Although the poster is not as big as in the video, I would really like to get them out. The material is slightly thicker then the poster above. Could I send you the poster to take a look at?
