- Today, I leave Bandung and head to Jakarta. Yes, back to Jakarta but just for a few days. From Bandung, I take the highway bus, the MGI Executive bus. After arriving in Jakarta I have a nice little talk with a local man who is trying to get my business, unfortunately for him, I like using the Gojek app for my rides.
This was filmed before Ramadan, around 3 weeks ago. After Jakarta I went to Semarang, then Solo and Jember. I am now in Bali.

Hari ini, saya meninggalkan Bandung dan menuju Jakarta. Ya, kembali ke Jakarta tapi hanya untuk beberapa hari. Dari Bandung, saya naik bus tol, bus MGI Executive. Setelah tiba di Jakarta saya mengobrol sedikit dengan seorang pria lokal yang mencoba untuk mendapatkan bisnis saya, sayangnya untuk dia, saya suka menggunakan aplikasi Gojek untuk perjalanan saya.
Ini difilmkan sebelum Ramadhan, sekitar 3 minggu yang lalu. Setelah Jakarta saya pergi ke Semarang, lalu Solo dan Jember. Saya sekarang di Bali.

Nick kayanya salah bis deh, orang di toilet itu wudhu mau solat.
Gojek/Grab price doesn't include highway ticket, so yeah you pay the extra by yourself.

it's amazing to see a bule taking all the real experience of Indonesia by himself😅and for the highway toll fee, yes, as far as i remember, we have to pay that. it's not included in gojek price shown on the app.

lots of good buses, especially the East Java area, lots of business class buses, with facilities like hotels, each set has a bedroom, there's also a two-story bus, maybe, you can review it sometime, it's definitely fun nick

IIRC for the highway, parking fees etc the passenger has to pay for them, since you're already inside the car. Good luck Nick!

wow the biggest bus terminal in Bandung....been there.... last bus at 9pm (local time) to Merka port city (I drop off at Jakarta). The terminal is 24hours but not all the buses.
MG busI still running...just 1 bus ,tho hahahaa!....better than nothing.

Fyi nick, we have community that love to review buses, called busmania. You can dive in to their channels like andriawan pratikto, ahmad wildani, mas arkan and some other. You can find vast variety of buses in indonesia espec along java.
Its a sleeper bus nick, the seat layout is like a bed, the bus is for destination that have a long ride on the road

You can take what we call "travel" mini buses such as Citi Trans, Baraya they usually hv their own mini terminals and there are several routes near where you want to be dropped off.
He had it and it seems he didn't really enjoy it. Watch his videos when he was in Jember.

One thing to remind, do not order ride hailing app (Gojek & Grab) while you still inside a public facilities like bus station and train station etc because you might not getting any drivers soon. The problem is these app drivers are not allowed to pickup any passengers from "their territory" by the station drivers group called opang (ojek pangkalan), both bike and cars. You must walk few meters away from the station so you can actually meet up with your online drivers there. Win win solution. These has become the major problem now between those territorial drivers, they could actually fight because of this.

Yes, Nick. If you take a Gojek or Grab Car and using the highway, you must prepare an e-toll. The highways is not including payment from the car it self. But you can avoid highway if you don't want to spend extra cash 😁. Also, don't leave your bag carelessly in public space. This is Indonesia, not Japan, dude 🤭

i always use my own e-money card to pay the highway, so don't need to give the drivers extra cash

Don't be surprised, nik, seeing the terminals in Indonesia, not everything is good and clean, especially the toilets in the terminal. And always be careful "at any terminal there will be pickpockets and so on, I hope you are always in the protection of Allah 🙏

U look beat up after that bus trip 😂 That driver was persistent & rather aggressive,thus making his approach a negative one.But that's just how life is,a majority of them struggle to earn a decent living.Nonetheless i love and miss Indonesia,expenditures and cost of living are damn cheap.Only the traffic jam gives me a headache 😂 Hope you'll visit Singapore if u have the chance someday.

For your question about the toll/highway fare, every time you hop in a Gocar you better ask first the driver whether the trip will pass the toll/highway route or not, cause most of the time they'll just go on the toll/highway to avoid the traffic and the person who has to pay is the passenger. By the way, have a pleasant and safe trip here in Indonesia!🤙

Biaya jalan Tol (Highway) dan biaya parkir (parking) itu berbeda dari biaya ongkos Gojek (Gocar). Dan itu dibebankan kepada pelanggan.
With gocars or grabcars you gotta pay the highway fees man, you can use his card and pay him with cash (that's what I usually do) or use your own e-Toll card. Since you're in South Jakarta here's a few places that might be interesting for you: Blok M (Little Tokyo), there are lots of Japanese restaurants owned by Japanese people that live there. Kemang has coffee shops and bars everywhere. SCBD is the downtown area, Pondok Indah is the wealthy part of town and has a HUGE mall, Ragunan is the zoo, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) is the football stadium & has a park similar to Central Park called Hutan Kota

The dining room is very spacious and can accommodate thousands of people at one time, the dormitory is about 30 or more two-story buildings. It is the best university to visit

Next you have to try bus from Jakarta to Malang, or from Malang to Bali. That route provide the best bus in Indonesia. good design, good interior and super comfort modern bus in Indonesia.. AND you dont buy from traveloka. in Indonesia if you want to take a bus. you have buy from AGEN BUS or find tiket vendor at terminal. but mostly bus crew or people at terminal only speak bahasa indonesia.
You have to go to the indonesian national library in jakarta. one of the highest libraries in the world

Nick, it is actually a violation to Traffic Law for a bus driver letting a passenger put his/her hands on the steering wheel. Also, for a passenger to drive the bus even though it's only a couple of minutes on the street or in the parking yard. 😁

Around 6-7 years ago, I've routinely taken Bandung - Jakarta round trip by bus for work, right from that Leuwipanjang bus terminal. I haven't visited the bus terminal for so long and I'm surprised to see the "modern" situation in this video. Seems like there is a new entrance building for the passengers we and new bridges/pathways to the bus lanes.
Cacing,,bla bla bla Tiki island ulala🤣 hallu. Toll fee is excluded i think Lyft in the US do the same think ,,but i always pay as shown on the apps while entering highway specially I95 in Florida hahaa
