3 guitarists, yeah! What a killer track! Even though I am principally an electric guitar fan, Billy Powell always blows me away when he comes in. Ronnie's voice is just perfect for their sound. Honestly, there is no weak link in this phenomenal band.
Love the bass in this one. Skynyrd was so good. Brings back a lot of good memories. You can't help but to boogie to them. Thanks for the reaction - do more LS!
Growing up in Oklahoma hunting, fishing, loving, fighting, Army service, going through marriage/divorce, infidelity, Booze, Heroin, Meth, Jail, Recovery... and somehow coming out the other side (with only a couple of missing pieces)... Skynyrd is the soundtrack to my life
I saw the Artimus Pyle band this past Saturday night. What a band! They sounded like they were in the studio. If you like Skynyrd, go see the A.P. band.
My favorite of this album, which is saying a lot. Definitely check out I Ain't the One! I guarantee you guys dig that one as well. It's an awesome intro track, with a very catchy guitar riff with a dope solo. They set your expectations high for the rest of the album, and they deliver! It's brilliant front to back. Entering with I Ain't the One, and finishing with Free Bird, with hits and groovy album fillers in between. These guys had such an awesome sound, from vocals, to guitar, to bass, to keys.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I never heard this one before and they’re one of my top three favorite bands! The beginning reminded me a little of Steely Dan - a little more funky/jazzy than usual Skynyrd fare. But once Ronnie’s vocals kick in there’s no mistaking who it is 🤘Awesome stuff right there. Skynyrd just doesn’t have any bad songs in their arsenal!
You cannot go wrong with the first five albums Pronounced, Second Helping, Nuthin Fancy, Give me back my Bullets, Street Survivors. Plus One more from the Road.
Hope I don't sound like an ignorant Canadian, but ... Ronnie sounds like he's got one hand on an Evinrude tiller, huntin' evening bullfrogs, good amount of chew, black hat and a lil' taste of shine.
I had every Lynyrd Skynyrd album not virtually but in actuality. Sorry man just had to be a smart-ass for a minute. I love your enthusiasm and this is one of the greatest bands ever.
I only consider the original Skynyrd to be Skynyrd. I miss these guys so much! Went through high school with their first few albums/music. So killer! Thanks much for your reaction! Also, I don't regard the R&R Hall Of Fame with any credibility, so I couldn't care less what they think, they are so FOS!
Great reaction! Skynyrd is great and looking forward to you checking out the live album, " One More From the Road". I'm telling you, it will blow you away!! Just start with the first track on that one and you will want to hear the rest.
Hey La and Che from Ned in Spain. Everybody's killin it on this but MVP Leon Wilkeson's bass is phenomenal. He deserves a lot more attention and respect. This tune also reminds of classic James Gang like Funk 49 and The Bomber. All good things to you both. Adios
@@shawnm4189 I was aware of that . He played bass on most of the first LP except on Tuesday's gone & 1 other track I can't think of now . Hard to think that it was him on Bass on the Freebird recording !!!!
Holy Sheeit I did not know that and thanks for the correction, seriously. King was a serious badass musician with the Strawberry Alarm Clock as well. BTW it's Wilkeson @@shawnm4189
Only around from 73-77,all I can do is write about it is last song on gimme back my bullets album, deserves a listen, that whole album is gold..I believe only album they released with two guitars instead of their signature 3,
You guys are the best in the business. You have a well rounded appreciation of so many musical styles. I honestly never made the connection between this song and Funk, but it is clear as day. Totally made sense after Che mentioned it! Funk happens to be my second favorite genre, after classic rock. Thanks for the awesome reaction! I will keep the Skynyrd tunes coming to you!
I think I accidentally deleted my previous comment but this is important: Never say, "I love Lynyrd." You say, "I love Skynyrd." Or "Skynyrd rocks." As new Skynyrd fans (not Lynyrd fans) you gotta know this. Anyway good job. Keep playin Skynyrd, guys!
60 year old musician guy here and I love all kinds of music from all over the world and from all different times and I've spent a lot of my life playing music of all different kinds including original stuff but I will say, Lynyrd Skynyrd from a musician's point of view is a real treat every freaking time. Love you guys reactions
Love some more Skynyrd! Great banger guys, for another, do That Smell, it rocks out, big time as well. They always deliver. I see some comments with Funk #49 by The James Gang with Joe Walsh on killer guitar, if you have not heard it, you should, if you have, check out the James Gang Live with Stop, they killed it. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
RR HOF lost it's meaning, many old rockers don't even show up, Madonna is in it, many Rockers aren't, I think they ought have a brand new HARD ROCK HOF.
I love y'all. I just came across y'all doing these reactions 3 days ago and I have been watching them for 3 days now. Y'all should check out FOUR WALLS OF RAYFORD by Skynyrd. Keep doing what you do. Y'all are my new favorites to watch. I've never subscribed to anyone on TH-cam, but I subscribed to y'all. Love it!
I dont believe they made ANY bad music. Southern Rock started with Taj Majal, Then the Allman Bros took it up with vituoso muscianship. Then Skynyrd took it from there. IMO those 3 bands ARE southern rock period. Grand Funk and Ted Nugent should also be in the RR HOF.
RVZ and the guitar onslaught of Skynyrd is legendary, unfortunately sometimes overshadowing the rhythm section and Billy Powell, sooo good. Leon Wilkenson could really put it down.
Y’all picked up on that perfect! That whole song came from a bass riff that Ed King came up with! Very funky! If you listen real close to the guitar riff it changes just a little with each chorus.
Man it doesn’t matter what song you listen to from this band People will like it or at least be able to relate to it in some way If you like the faster songs by this band Listen to Double Trouble,Trust,I’m a Country BoyIf yall like the southern rock sound Check out Atlanta Rhythm Section This is another great band
Hey Guys, love your show.If you want to see LS at their best, got to see their show at the Knebworth Festival. They absolutely blew the Stones off the stage. Best version of Freebird ever! I guarantee you guys will freak the fuck out!
Your assessment is totally accurate. Lynyrd Skynyrd was definitely a group with a lot of influence and players who were open to lots of genres to incorporate. If you want some more AWESOME southern rock, definitely look into Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet. Not quite as eclectic as Skynyrd were but both great bands with some awesome tracks.
3 guitarists, yeah! What a killer track! Even though I am principally an electric guitar fan, Billy Powell always blows me away when he comes in. Ronnie's voice is just perfect for their sound. Honestly, there is no weak link in this phenomenal band.
Followed up by "Second Helping"!!!
Only two guitarists. Ed King played bass on this album.
Love the bass in this one. Skynyrd was so good. Brings back a lot of good memories. You can't help but to boogie to them. Thanks for the reaction - do more LS!
They never disappoint. Musicians at the finest level. So damb funky and rockin.
Ronnies last song recorded before the accident was Jacksonville Kid done while recording Street Survivors
One of my top favs by them..Thanks,Guys! Glad you dig the Skynyrd boys... dig into Street Survivors and Second Helping. Every track on each is fab! T
Totally agree.
This has one of their greatest guitar riffs ever
Growing up in Oklahoma hunting, fishing, loving, fighting, Army service, going through marriage/divorce, infidelity, Booze, Heroin, Meth, Jail, Recovery... and somehow coming out the other side (with only a couple of missing pieces)...
Skynyrd is the soundtrack to my life
I saw the Artimus Pyle band this past Saturday night. What a band! They sounded like they were in the studio. If you like Skynyrd, go see the A.P. band.
Ronnie James Dio isn’t in the RRHOF, which renders it invalid.
Every time a channel I follow reacts to a Skynyrd song, I post asking them to do "Things Goin' On" from this album. And nobody ever does.
My favorite of this album, which is saying a lot.
Definitely check out I Ain't the One! I guarantee you guys dig that one as well. It's an awesome intro track, with a very catchy guitar riff with a dope solo. Love your appreciation for our music of yesteryear ❤️🤘🏼🎸 you guys are keeping this music alive 🙏🏻
Gotta tell ya - the older I get the more I like Skynyrd. Their 1st 5 albums are great!
They really never recorded a bad song period!
"Billy Powell on the keyboards"... he was a monster. 😎
I am I losing OOS.RNG question mark that's a song Ronnie was saying when it's gonna do that song.I'm all losing
Love to listen to you guys review some serious music.
Keep going with this band, so much good stuff.
One of my fave LS songs. Is that the last dragon record or poster in the background? One of my favorite movies. Yall rock!!
You guys do one hell of a good analysis!
Would love to see you react to more Black Crowes And more Blackberry Smoke please!
Ronnie Van Zant was a grown man, seems like the entire short time while he was on this earth.
I relate Skynyrd to The Marshall Tucker Band.
You guys need to check out Mississippi kid another banger from Lynyrd Skynyrd
Certainly have to wonder what would have been added to their catalog had it not been for the plane crash.
They got plenty.
You cannot go wrong with the first five albums Pronounced, Second Helping, Nuthin Fancy, Give me back my Bullets, Street Survivors. Plus One more from the Road.
Breach - It's me god
bad assas usual. My favorite band growing up and there were a ton of great bands but L.S. screams America throughout to me. Thanks guys
Rush and Skynyrd are tops for me. Both are great live also.
Try out "Ballad of Curtis Loew" if you haven't already.
Texture texture texture
Hope I don't sound like an ignorant Canadian, but ... Ronnie sounds like he's got one hand on an Evinrude tiller, huntin' evening bullfrogs, good amount of chew, black hat and a lil' taste of shine.
And if you want a funky track try I ain't the one
I owned virtually every one of their albums when I was a kid. "Pronounced" is one heck of a debut record.
Might be the best debut ever. In their genre, at least
Their best.
It sure was.
@@ricobonifacio1095 for sure one of best debut from any band ,skynyrd created their own genre my opinion.

with Artimus and Steve is still SKYNYRD, if Ronnie is there, it's SKYNYRD.
the best skynyrd songs are the ones you won't hear on the radio.
swamp music is a tasty tune.
100% true in my book. I wish the recorded traveling man in the studio but the live one is great
Truth! Double trouble for the win.
Swamp Music is amazing!
Like Tuckers HILLBILLY BAND.
It’s a shame more of LS deep cuts didn’t make the air waves.
Even tho this is their hardest song, I still enjoy MISSISSIPPI KID, THINGS GOIN ON, MADE IN THE SHADE.
This riff is an awful lot like Funk #49 by the James Gang. However Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite American band.
Maybe Funk #49 should be the next reaction 🤔
Definitely hear that Joe Walsh riff.
That's what I heard as well.
You boys should react to Swamp music, it has a hidden tribute to legendary blues player, Son House.
Great reaction! Skynyrd is great and looking forward to you checking out the live album, " One More From the Road". I'm telling you, it will blow you away!! Just start with the first track on that one and you will want to hear the rest.
My cousin was there at The Fox and said it was great. Also the Knebworth show is spectacular and is my favorite live show..
They were the best. Simply put. 🥰 Grand funk should be there.
This is one of my favorite LS grooves. Stank face level is high on this track
Hey La and Che from Ned in Spain. Everybody's killin it on this but MVP Leon Wilkeson's bass is phenomenal. He deserves a lot more attention and respect. This tune also reminds of classic James Gang like Funk 49 and The Bomber. All good things to you both. Adios
They were definitely trying to sound like Joe walsh here !!!!!1
Ed King played bass on this, not Leon Wilkinson.
@@shawnm4189 I was aware of that . He played bass on most of the first LP except on Tuesday's gone & 1 other track I can't think of now . Hard to think that it was him on Bass on the Freebird recording !!!!

You guys understanding of music is right on try t for Texas live from Asbury park 1977 you will see how great this band was

I dare anyone to list a BAD Skynyrd song….the unpopular ones very good…the known songs….absolutely classic rock….just an amazing band
Every Hard and Heavy Skynyrd track is the Birth of Molly Hatchet

The band is Lynyrd Skynyrd the lead vocalist is Ronnie Van zant p
Awesome !!!!!! No one reacts to this crazy song !!!! I believe they were influenced by the Joe Walsh 's James Gang on this one.

All those early Hard Rockers loved Funk side of James Brown - Aerosmith Zep ZZ Top .. Maybe Skynyrd
Big skinard fan.Never heard the song. Thanks for introducing me.The rift sounded a little bit like funk.Fifty nine joe walsh
I found one I hadn't already liked. Swampsters!
Gotta check out the Blues side of Skynyrd! “ Mr.Banker” , “ 4 walls of Raiford” !

51 yrs ago this August, they released their debut LP. Tuesday Gone, Simple Man & Free Bird all adorn that album. Love the reaction, gentlemen 👍
Imo, along w/ Guns n Roses "Appetite For Destruction" this is one of the best debut albums ever.
Bad Company - Live for the Music
I saw them in 77 they were one of those rare bands that sounded as good or better live.
Early Skynard!!!!
Skyward was on the cusp of super stardom when the plane crashed happened.
Shit they already hit SS before the crash
No they hadn't.
