- Welcome back to my Sewing room! This sewing video is a sewing pattern haul video and also a sewing fabric haul. In the sewing room we also discuss sewing plans. Easy sewing projects And my wish to learn how to sew pants and to learn to sew coats! We talk about me sewing buttons on the pink dress and other unfinished sewing projects.
I explain my sewing process and upcoming sewing projects as well as in progress sewing projects. I love the first vogue pattern. It looks very 1950's inspired.
If you have an already may want to try and Gingher scissors. I have a pair from when I learn to sew in high school and they are still very sharp and work very well. I have an 8 inch shears and also a small embroidery scissors that I use for cutting open button holes. I do have a small hand injury so I have just recently purchased the Fisker‘s titanium action shears which worked pretty well but they don’t have as sharp a cut as the Gingher scissors.
I thought about trying the spring action ones! But yes to the Gingher at least 5 pair not a huge fan but maybe it’s just that they need sharpening. I’m going to have to figure it out.

Love your videos! That stretchy gold cabled fabric would be a FABULOUS cape… vintage style… or a loosely constructed jacket. Looks like cozy fabric

I think either of your new skirt patterns would be lovely with your autumn fabrics.
Also your "strong contender" for the Haley Marie Vintage colab, the 1950s reprint would be really lovely in that fabric.

Even before you mentioned wanting to use up some of your stash to make space im your room, I was thinking it would be fun for you to go back and remake some of your patterns. As Kittenish Bahaviour says, when you put in the hard work to fit a pattern well, and you love the results, it makes sense to reuse it a lot. It gets easto make, you can, hack it, etc. And it saves money.
I love the cozy gold cable knit fabric. It think it may be too loosely knit or too heavy for the knit patterns you bought, because they have a lot of details. It would make an adorable simple sweater dress to go with boots. Or a boyfriend cardigan. Something with a simple design to let the beautiful knit texture shine.
For the vintage collab, what about the McCall's M7599 view A with a contrasting pastel/solid? I have that pattern on the brain, since I'm working on my mock up. 🙂
You know I’ve really been thinking of using a bodice from one pattern that I finally got to fit well and the skirt from another!!
Great Haul. I used M8142 for my 40th birthday photoshoot it would look great for a New Years Eve dress

You should definitely start a channel. The sewing community is awesome and so supportive. I’m like every human some days are hard days, some days I watch the news and I am sad for the world and then someone I’ve never met in person will send me a message telling me how special I am 🥹
@@SewSewDrew I’ve ordered a mystery box of patterns so perhaps that could be a good place to start. I’ve always wanted my own channel but never knew what the subject matter would be and now I have an awesome hobby encouraged by creators like you 🥰
I have that same corset pattern, I’m trying to do 5 Christmas dresses and I’m a slow worker so I’m putting the corset off until at least the spring.

I love V1901 for the denim fabric. Mimi G 11373 for the sweater knit, & for the colab Simplicity 1194, Hollywood D9912 or DuBarry 5966. Also, where do you get your paper to trace out patterns, and can you show how you do your full bust adjustment. I am a visual learner and follow pictures or videos better than the written instructions (plus I might need to do a bust & belly adjustment) :)
I order Swedish tracing paper on Amazon and I will show the full bust next time it’s a lot easier then you think I put off learning for so long because I was intimidated but it’s super easy and like a 30 minute thing that’s totally worth it!
I love the strappy dress you were thinking for the collab!! Looks like a perfect choice:) also that Mimi-g one with the side cut out seems like it could be really lovely for autumn in that sweater knit. Cozy and mostly covered up but with that cute sexy cutout makes it so stunning
I’m loving my gingher scissors-had them for years and only just starting to dull a smidge. (Can be sharpened too)

@@SewSewDrew anywhere that sharpens knives should be able to do scissors I think (it’s on my to do list haha)
