There's only a few people who got to ride that element. It was too much. Intamin kinda guessed this could be the case so they manufacture the s-bend along side the heartline roll so they could pick and choose without delaying the ride opening. It was like that last high speed turn on i305 before the trim was added only i305 uses the dual spine track that can handle the forces.
I rode maverick. There's are a part where you go into a tunnel, stop for a minute, then go insanely fast. It feels like your in a racecar going 250 miles per hour, the whole experience was memorizing and I would love to go again.

I live in Ohio, if you’ve never been to cedar point I encourage you to go, it’s one of the safest amusement parks I’ve been too and all of its rides are great, and yes maverick wait line is always long but it is surely worth it!!

I just went today for the first time and I went in the steel vengeance the line was so long but it was so worth it, it was really intense and so fun if you ever go to cedar point I recommend going to steel vengeance 10/10

I first rode maverick with my wife in 2017. We both fell in love with that ride and that ride till this day is our top ride ride up against the millennial force
I remember having the platinum pass and fast pass to cut in line when it opened and riding it day 1 I love it as well. Lowkey my favorite is the magnum because for some reason the line is never as packed as it should be for how good that ride is. Sometimes you can get right off and jog right back to the enterance to get back on

Cedar point is mind blowing, Maverick and Steel vengeance are the best rides there. Steel I think is slightly better but they are both unique. The biggest rollercoaster in my country is one of the smallest rides at Cedar point and I'd never been to a proper theme park like Cedar Point. My first ride at Cedar point? Millennium force. FRONT SEAT. I just about crapped myself on the drop lol.
If they had raised it a little and drawn the roll out a bit more in the original plans, it wouldn't have had to be removed. Still would have been a whippy element too. But that's what progress is about, making mistakes and learning, might be why Velocicoaster's roll is shaped the way it is now.

Crazy it’s that old. This coaster is still smooth and feels like it’s brand new. One of my favorite coasters. These coasters need to show up in more parks. I love low to the ground coasters and this one is crazy good.
Given that part of the ride it definitely makes sense they removed it, that S turn even though a gentle element was still incredibly forceful on maverick

I’m a wooden roller coaster hobbyist & most steel coasters just don’t grab my heart very hard, but there are a bunch of steel coasters that I like a lot. Maverick is one of those. I had no idea it had a heart line roll at that location when it was new! Wow, I’m supposed to be an expert! Well, I am, just with wood coasters, though. So, my thought is I wish they would’ve stretched or elevated that roll or otherwise engineered some of the force out of it instead of removing it. Maverick is great how it is, the whole ride is overboard intense, but having one more inversion, one that’s grey-out forceful, would make the ride even better. They should donate that inversion to the ACE Coaster Museum! Since I don’t keep up with steel coasters nearly as much as wood…Are there anymore small, Intamin coasters with lots of inversions like Maverick in the U.S?
I just realized: the scrapped idea for this element likely inspired the “Mosasaurus Roll” on Velocicoaster! It would make sense considering Maverick and Velocicoaster are fairly similar and are both designed by Intamin!
@@Ink_Sack I haven't ridden it yet (going to in a few weeks tho, I'm really excited), but I think the difference is that the Mosasaurus roll's exit is slightly faster and more whippy than the entry, along with a slight dip in elevation during the inverted part. This seems to change a lot (and even the POV looks different).
even without it the maverick is an incredible ride. i recommend either riding it first if you get early park access, or very last because the line is ALWAYS long for it

I have one similar at one of my home parks called a "lagoon roll" which flips you upside down, then up, and upside down on the opposite side, then up. Coined by lagoon theme park.
I used to live in south ohio near hocking hills. I drove up there once a year to go and every time it was nice. And I always timed it to when there was a big storm. So everybody would leave and the lines were super short
I rode that like right after it opened and I completely blacked out, I’ve had light black outs or whatever before on coasters but never like that, especially not in a loop. It was like the first turn and then I was gone lol
Yeah I remember that roll was supposed to be included. The ride actually got delayed by like 2 weeks for the 07 year. I heard it was more about stress on the track itself. This ride has high g's in a bunch of spots so I don't think it was a rider issue.

The Batman Roller Coaster at Six Flags has this same instantaneous corkscrew element towards the beginning of the ride. It literally hurts to ride as your brain is being slammed side to side under the G-forces! This is absolutely NOT an exaggeration!

We’ve been blessed to ride many different roller coasters in Canada and The States over the years but Maverick is still our favourite! That someone got a 3.5mm hook through their palm, and another person managed to bend a hook that size, shows how much force is needed. 3.5mm isn't *that* thin. Since I mostly use 0.5-1.5mm hooks I'm not sure I'd think of 3.5mm as sharp or bendable-- so I'd probably end up doing something similar tbh.
The stress it put on the track and cars is what really killed that element but given how intese the esses are in its place it would have been crazy to experience. Maveric is still an incredible coaster.

VelociCoaster at Universal Islands of Adventure literally has a heart line role at the very end. Easily the best coaster I’ve been on.

I can't even imagine how intense that roll would've been. The ride as-is is already uncomfortably intense.
The stress it put on the track and cars is what really killed that element but given how intese the esses are in its place it would have been crazy to experience. Maveric is still an incredible coaster.

The Mosasaurs roll is my favorite element I’ve experienced and this looks pretty similar but maybe shorter and snappier
