LinuxCNC and FreeCAD - same electronics as Mach3 and FreeCAD runs on whatever PC you happen to have if you don't want to be tied to Autodesk Fusion. Yes, there are learning curves, but there were learning curves for EVERYTHING.
NC Studio is pretty good for what it is but make sure you download the correct version of the software for your card. My first router shipped with the wrong version and it did not function properly. I found an older version and installed that and it worked straight away. Takes a bit of fine tuning and experience with your feeds & speeds, pathing and tool selection for your machine and material to get the best results but its a great way to learn how to do that all manually rather than rely on quality controllers and software. I learned a lot from my battles with it. I believe I now produce better work because of what I learned and NC Studio and I are now friends. It did not always feel like that. This was my experience, it may differ from yours.

I was thinking of getting this PCI card to connect my 3 axis servopack sgdh drives to an old Windows XP pc with Mach 3 loaded up on it. If I buy these and get them hooked up, can I use Mach 3 and will it work?
does anyone know how to set home position with this software. I have a chinese router with an S3 controller and NC Studio. but it will not run a program because of machine limits have not been set. I do not see a way to setup the machine limits

Have you tried BCNC and GRBL. Price $0. No motion card needed and is hard realtime using arduino
