Its a tribute to his best friend Calvin Rodgers! if you don't know why hes playing with such aggression and "extraness" Calvin was brutally beaten and left for dead. Because he survived, the chi-town came together and had a tribute! That's why hes playing like a mad man! And to the guy that says drummers are sounding the same, you need to get out more! Or maybe you aren't in the same industry as us!

If you watched the video before this one where Rex is telling all the people in that building how great of their friendship is! He admits that if it wasn't for the help of Calvin, Rex wouldn't be where he at now. So this eliminates the statements of him showing off! He playing for his friend getting hype that it's a benefit program instead of a Funeral. So he playing to his best ability..yes a few chops were kinda slopped BUT I can picture the pressure on him to play like this in front of Calvin like that! Every musician gets like that when they play they best ability in front of the person they admires.! Rex killed this performances so I just wanted to clear that up!

There is no right or wrong way to play it. This was arranged by the MD with his own ideas and being very innovative.
