I just want to say thank you to everyone who takes time to watch my videos. I know time is precious and it really does mean a great deal to me that you invite me into your home (through the computer :) to talk makeup. Just wanted to send some love and thanks your way! HUGS!! :)
haha yes it's definitely hit & miss! Thanks for taking time to watch! :D
Emily I just love your personality. You are so positive and honest in your reviews and I truly appreciate it. As a senior on a fixed budget ELF is something I like to know about and for you to review it before hand really helps me. Thank you so much.
Emily, thank you SO MUCH for always doing reviews/tutorials of affordable brands. So many of the gurus I watch mostly use high end brands and only a few drug store products. You're not only one of my favorite gurus but your use of affordable products in your videos makes your channel a must-subscribe!
I love the lip exfoliater !!!! It does eventually ware down , like the balm that holds it together stays on your lips so the grains with eventually rub off . I love it !
I love the small smudge brush!! It's my favorite for filling in my brows with a brow powder. The size is perfect and it gives such a natural look. Seriously cannot live without!
I have never had trouble with the eyeliner. I have used it for about a year and the brush has never done that. Their liquid liner is seriously the best eyeliner I have ever used and I highly recommend it!!!
Lip Lock is the best clear liner I have ever used. It works just as well as the Urban Decay but at a fraction of the price and you don't have to sharpen it. I love that it is matte, too.
I have the lip exfoliator and I love it. You don't feel any residue because it's new but after a while or several uses the top conditioning layer thins out. So you're left with a gritter exfoliater and it does tend to leave little gritty bits on your lips.
I love the angle brush for contouring. I use the lip lock on my entire lips, and it increases staying power of any lip look A LOT! Hope it works out for you.
The lip exfoliater works so good and gets all the dead skin off. And leaves a sweet after taste and I love it!
I really do wish E.L.F had more colors in the Lip balm tints.. I really love them!!
I also use the exfoliator, too! Wet it first, and it will leave grit, so rinse your lips after. Love it. Tastes great!
I use the smudge brush to apply eyeshadow as eye liner. I've used it daily for about a year. It's one of my favorite brushes that I have.
I bought the Elf eye refresh 6 days ago, because I have darkness under my eye and puffiness. And I've actually only used it 3 times and its made a huge difference. I almost have no darkness under my eye. It's very good.
I have the lip exfoliator, and with time it does wear down. The brown sugar scrub actually starts to come off a bit more as it gets worn down. The product actually gets softer. And for me easier to use.
On the lip exfoliator the harder you start to rub on your lips to get the dead skin off the more it wears down and it stays as a scrub! I love it!
I love the angled blush brush for contouring!
You are truly one of the most honest, informative, entertaining, and trustworthy beauty gurus/TH-camrs out there! I love your personality & you have such a soothing voice! You are my go-to person when it comes to product reviews! I absolutely love your videos & you are gorgeous! :)
Instead of buying a lip exfoliater, you can make your own by mixing brown sugar and a little bit of olive oil (can add a touch of honey too) to make a thick paste and push it into an old chapstick container. I made mine several months ago and it compares to one I bought from bath and body a long time ago. It tastes sweet, exfoliates well and you can wipe the granules off.
I love the mascara primer myself. You have to apply it carefully to avoid clumps, yeah, but it gives me such awesome length that I don't even mind. And the lip exfoliator will start to leave little grains of sugar on your lips as you work through it more. It kind of has a little layer of balm on top which takes a while to get through. But they last a long time!
I have the eye refresh and have used it under eyes later in the day to depict my eyes and pat in in and it does not remove my makeup at all. It's great!
You're so likeable, Emily! I have been watching for years and love the ease with which you just "chat" with your viewers while you're discussing products. Would LOVE to see you on QVC.
Some gurus on here have the same old foundation routine monthly favorites and repetitive tags BUT you!!! You always bring variety to this community thank you for that! I never ever miss any videos of yours
Your re reviews are completed with so much grace. You are so appreciated as are your reviews!
I have the lip exfoliater. It doesn't leave a gritty residue but it you do wipe away on your lips, it will get rid of the dead skin and any left over lip stick or gloss.
I'm SO loving the Studio Lip Exfoliator. However, I found that it works better on DRY lips rather than "moist" lips suggested on the box...then, afterwards, I moisten the hell out of my lips. Super rad product that works as amazingly as it smells!
love the brown sugar lip exfoliator too. Just ordered more as mine did finally wear down , lol. 50% OFF today only ONLINE
I love watching your channel, as a beauty youtuber as well you are one of my biggest inspirations! One of the things I love the most about you is that you are completely honest, if you like a product that is $1 you tell us. I also love that you feature both high end and drugstore and if you like a drugstore product over a high end one you are not afraid to say it!!!
whenever im a little uneasy about buying something, i always lean towards your reviews because i love how honest you are! you're awesome Em!! :)
The top layer of the lip exfoliator will wear down straight to the gritty part and that's when you'll really have to apply and wipe off afterward. I like it a lot for the price because it does work great for getting that icky top layer of dryness off the lips and I don't mind the taste either. The only con for me is the more that the balm part wears thin it can become a bit abrasive on the lips. So as long as you use a light hand thereafter, it's still a great portable lip scrub for the value.
Try the loreal liquid eyeliner. It has a felt tip wand and is very preside and depending on how hard you push, the line gets thicker. I'm not sure what the exact name is but it come in a gold taper tube. It lasts all day and works great on water lines!
I absolutely LOVE mascara primer! I think you will like it. It makes my lashes look awesome! It doesn't mix with your mascara and turns it gray. It's perfect! I do however agree with you on the brush applicator; it needs to be different.
How nice of you to take the time to thank us in the comments section! I am subscribed to many beauty gurus and I don't think I have ever seen any of them post a message like that to all of the subscribers that happen to read through the comments. You are one of my favorite beauty gurus by far because you are very thorough, detail oriented, friendly, calming, honest, and I trust your opinions and advice! Thank you so much Emily for all the time and hard work you put into these videos! =-)
"As I continue to make lines with this mascara..." LOL!! Love your videos, Emily!!
The lip scrubber does also work. It works better in room temp.I usually warm it up a lilbit.so its not too harsh on my lips.but it scrubbes off dead skin, leaves your lips fuller and softer so please don't lick your lips.I use a warm damp paper towel to wipe off lips.elf is amazing the elf lip plumper worked better then the $30 ones they sell out there.I noticed a diff after months of using it my lips got bigger.
Hi Emily, I have the lip scrub also, and I thinks it works best like this, over your sink, wet your lips with water, then rub the balm over your lips, once done, rinse any residue off. I like this one better than the lust lip scrub, due to it coming in a lipstick form, makes it easy to use. Thanks for the vid
Of all the people I watch on YT you give the best reviews, show the products and for sure the best swatches.
I use it with my am & pm skincare routine. I apply my eye cream, wait a couple minutes for that to dissolve in my skin & then I apply the Eye Refresh around my entire eye. Its really a great product and great for those who want to care for their eyes but don't have the money or want to spend the money. I just really like it & although I've just started using Murad, I'll still buy the Eye Refresh. My dark circles have lightened tremendously. I stare at myself.
there aren't shipping charges if you order under $25, over that they add an additional $5. shipping is about 2 weeks :)
The gritty part from the lip exfoliator is the sugar, which does start to come on to your lip after really scrubbing and using it frequently. I love it tho. I have never used a better lip moisturizer that does the job ever.
The exfoliator will start to sort of fall apart the longer you use it. I use it at night then moisturize, then I use it before applying lip products in the morning. And when I say fall apart, I don't mean like completely break down, it'll just kinda come off in little clumps, I just rub my lips together like you would with a pot lip scrub. I LOVE that exfoliator.
after you use the lip exfoliator, it does start to leave a little sugar on your lips, and it does wear down, but it takes a while
Their brushes are amazing! I have several and I love them. One I've had for 3 years and its still going strong!
You introduced me to ELF and I am so thankful that you did. Thank you for your videos. They are so helpful, thorough, and fun. Keep up the great work!
My friend & I watch a lot of gurus, but you are by far our favorite! Every time we talk make up we always say things like "Emily reviewed it & said she liked it, we should try it!" or "Did you see the look Emily put up? Let's recreate it!" We love you, all your videos are SO good & we value your opinion so much! You're amazing! xx
Hi Abbey! I haven't tried the entire line of elf studio brushes, but I do cover some of them in my "Favorite Elf Brushes" video -- i have a link in the info box. Hope it's helpful to you!! :)
I really enjoy the studio e.l.f. makeup wipes. I use them to take off all my makeup and they do a fabulous job (Plus when you store them upside down they become really saturated!)
Hands down the best lip exfoliator I've found is by Avon. LOVE IT. Does leave lots of 'grit' behind and does the job. Probably my fav must have especially before lip stains, or matte formula lipsticks.
Love your makeup. I use the lip lock pen thing as a primer before anything else on my lips so that my lips are nice and beautiful and the actual lip products (usually a revlon lip butter), stays on longer and looks awesome. Something I read a while back that really works for me. It's a better than a chap stick but not as messy as a flesh tone lip primer. (For best results use the lip scrubber before and then the lip lock and your lips are gonnna be beautiful all day long!)
I love the lip exfoliator! Works wonders for me. If you rub some of it on your hand, it scrubs a lot better. And then just wash your lips off after.
about the elf eye refresh. I put it over my makeup and it doesn't screw up my makeup. it can work through out the day.
I absolutely ADORE the e.l.f. lip balm tints! I have three out of the four (I don't believe the natural shade would do me any justice since I have such naturally pigmented lips) and I believe that it is a must have from e.l.f.!
Casually marathoning your vids ^_^
I always find your videos to be so helpful! You give such honest and well-rounded advice! Thank you for that!
I can't wait to watch the "brand essentials" video that you are talking about! Please don't make us wait too long!
the lip exfoliator is great in the beginning nothing comes off but with use the brown sugar grains will begin to show up on your lips, which is why you'll need to wash it off
if you want a bright, pigmented lipgloss, try out essence stay with me gloss. i dont remember the exact shade, but it's bright coral color. veeery pigmented, very longlasting, and not expensive at all :)
Don't worry the lip scrub will leave residue on your lips. Also. The balm part will wear away and it'll just be the scrub. You'll have to put a balm of before you use it
I love the lip scrub! after using it for a little while I noticed a little of the sugar would rub off on my lips a little more that when I first bought it but nothing that you couldn't just wipe off. plus the taste is yummy.
The lip scrub leaves a little grit when you get about 20% into it . That being said I love it sooo much and use it as my bedtime routine.
Emily also would like to let you know about one of the best lip balm/gloss for the money is at Bath & Body works. I love the cinnamon one it looks glossy but its not sticky and it make the lips look very plump. The taste makes you keep wanting to put more on : )
I love your eye makeup. Do you have a tutorial for how to achieve that look with Elf products? I'm a bride on a budget and clueless about how to apply makeup.
Use the eyeliner with the 'smudge brush' touch the liner tip to the brush and it works amazingly.
I love the sound of the lip exfoliator in a stick. Sometimes with some of the crayon lip products during the day they dry my lips. I could use that and be like starting fresh. The golden eyeshadow reminds me of the golden shade in Wet and Wild's Sunburned Palette, very pretty. I hope to see you use that beautiful purple in a tutorial! I love your channel you have saved me from wasting cash on products that aren't what they seem. Thank you!
I just love how fun and enthusiastic you are in your videos! watching them really brightens my day! thanks Emily! :)
I absolutely swear by the lip lock pencil! It absolutely works. I have very dry skin and every time I wear red lipstick it feathers! As long as I put the lip lock, it doesn't feather!
I love the eye refresh when I have a headache. Feels amazing to apply to the eyes when your headache is behind them :)
Totally agree with the black liquid eyeliner! The brush separates.
I could listen to you all day I live your chipper attitude and thorough recommendations
I love the lip exfoliator way better than the lush scrubs! Taste is better, convenience is so much better.
I tried the ELF lip exfoliator. It smells awesome like vanilla and sugar.Initially for the first few uses it was great. It gently exfoliated the lip but the balm in it left it moisturized. After a few uses, the balm wore off and only the center which had a rather rough texture remained. It is very abrasive on the lip.I have to use another balm first then use this or twist the product in various directions to get the balm on it then exfoliate with the center, cause I don't want to waste it.
The first few times I used my ELF lip exfoliator it didn't leave grit, but it did start doing it eventually. And I LOVE it. :)
Emily I freaking love your reviews! I have bought SOOO may products because of them. There was only one product that I didn't like that you recommended but even that has a different use. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into saving us money by scouring the drugstore for high end quality products :) THANK YOU!
i buy some things at Target, but I bought these things online during the Memorial Day sale... i think everything was 30% off or something like that. They have some very good online deals every so often! :)
Elf's lipgloss in wild, looks a lot like Mac's lipglass in pink poodle. Also have been using the lip scrub for a couple of months now, it's pretty amazing how it works & yes, it leaves a sugary tasting on the lips.
For the eyeliner, wipe the brush dry then spray a holding spray (hair spray) onto it, then dip it into the eyeliner.
Great video! I love elf because they don't test on animals, and that's important to me!
Emily, i have the same liquid liner and what you do to avoid that is when you take it out rub it against the sides of the container and it sticks and wont separate right away
I have the lip exfoliater and it works fine. Basically, it just wears down as you use it.
I love the small smudge brush for cleaning up a lip line
When I use the exfoliator, the stuff that I wipe off is the bumpy scrubbing ingredients along with my dead skin.
Love this look on you the colors just work so well with your skin tone and hair and eye color!!
This is my all time favorite makeup look on you! So natural & pretty!
The $1 smudge brush is so much better than the studio smudge brush.
The lip stains are so much better than the ones by NYC.
The exfoliating lip balm will leave a tad bit of the "sugar" behind when you get pass the beginning of it. I just dust it off and the aftermath is still good.
I tend to use the eye refresh in the morning after washing my skin; does help take away puffiness.
I love the Dr Pepper lipsmacker too! Gives a great hint of color, and smells so good!
I use that smudge brush for nail polish clean up and it works great!
That Purple Passion eyeshadow will look amazing on green eyes!
I'm still looking for them! hope to find them soon! :)
Thank you Emily, your reviews on like EVERYTHING makeup really helps me save on a lot of money. I still prefer to wear my favorite brand of Lancome, but it helps to mix high end and low end to save on money.
My elf products arrived today ! I also received the moisture stick, eye roller and lip exfoliator. Very happy I like them.
The lip exfoliator will become more gritty & come off on your lips the more you use it or keep rubbing it on. It almost "hardens" or dries out a bit in between uses I've found.
I use the angled blush brush to blend out my contour and their studio blush brush to set powder under my eyes
I've used the mascara primer for about a year now, it really gives length. I just comb my lashes after it dries some before I put on mascara :)
First of all, I love to hear you speak, you are a smart sweet gal! Second, you are so knowledgeable, I love your reviews and follow them 99% of the time. But I also like to watch you because my 12 yr old daughter looks like you, now that she's getting older. Thanks, Emily!
I bought the Lip Exfoliator several months ago and was really excited to try it. The packaging is definitely a novelty and it's convenient to use. However, I found that mine couldn't withstand pressure. I pressed a little too hard one time and the base of the scrub broke. I'll go back to using DIY sugar+honey lip scrubs.
Thank you so much !! Very helpful video. Out of all the products I've only used the scrub and I like it the little granny sugar will eventually come out but the only thing is to be careful with not pressing too hard because it will break. Again thanks for all your reviews always a great help!!
ELF's essential lipstick is "classy" is absolutely gorgeous on all skin tones!
I don't know if you'll see this, Em, but I thought that you should know that the ELF HD Powder in the shimmer shade is very nice for light highlighting it does have some glitter but it gives a really pretty effect! Try it if you haven't already!! :)
My favorite products from ELF is the Lip Lock and Lip Exfoliator. My HG! I have an issue with my lipstick bleeding and the lip lock has allowed me to be bolder with lipsticks and colors.
The more you use the lip exfoliator the more stuff will show up on your lips, but mine started to break from getting too soft so be careful!
I love all the studio single eyeshadows. If you layer them over the maybeline color tatoos you get anazing pigment thats lasts all day
