Grace was honestly my favourite out of all his love interests.She was smart, mature and absolutely gorgeous! I would love to have her back but I think the writers purposefully wrote her off the way they did, poor Nolan. Though I do think his new teacher is a potential interest.

It’s funny, because Nolan left grace to be a father to a son with his now ex-wife and now Grace is doing the same thing for the same exact reason.
I think that's why he reacted how he did. I was 100% thinking this watching the episode.

I do not understand the writers of this series regarding nolan and grace and I explain:
They had an intense relationship in the past they break because they got their ex pregnant, 20 years later they meet again, it is obvious that the chemistry and the love between them still exists, little by little they get closer, and when they are together it turns out that he returns with his ex-husband for the son ,,,,, there are several chapters together to break. Why do the writers always screw up? They made a beautiful love story and it just so happens that in real life it happens ... I don't know if the writers did it this way to make fans of the series and of Nolan and Grace suffer or simply the actress leaves the series ... .
Great series hope another year and many more to come but guys John needs to feel that love ❤️ good guys can’t always come last pls

A couple getting back together for the sack of their kid is so stupid. They broke up for a reason. It would make more sense to say we're still in love and want to reconcile. If the feelings are no longer there what is the point? Tim's girlfriend leaving town, yippee!!! Now Tim and Lucy can get together.

Not really. It’s called putting your own interests aside for the sake of your kid, like parents are supposed to do. If you want to divorce once your kids all grown up, fine.
It’s like completing a project with someone you don’t like at work or for school. Sometimes, you need to put aside your differences and ignore what you don’t like about a person for the sake of a common goal, whether it’s for a job, a grade, or in this case, for the sake of their child. They don’t have to try ‘dating’ or loving each other again because like you said, there’s a reason for why they broke up. But they can still work as a team to finish their last project together: their child.
@@mmb_98 in my opinion that just makes it worse for the kid or kids in my sister's case cuz she did the same thing and it just made it worse and harder on the kids cuz they will break up again and i like i said that will just make it hard on the kid all over again!

I can get that. Some people just can’t make it work. But I’ve also seen it where the kids become more messed up because of the parents splitting (had a friend who was a Straight A honors student before they started getting into some sketchy stuff when they entered high school (nothing too bad, but enough to put them in danger). They’re better now but it had some serious ramifications in regards to their education and employment options later in life). I guess it depends on the situation and how bad the split is.

Noo!! I understand that it's probably because of the actress leaving, but I loved Grace and Nolan. Hope John's next love interest actually sticks around for more than half a season this time, because I always get attached to these characters right before they leave lol

Parents, never stay together for the sake of the kid/kids, it doesnt work and will only have resentment later in life when you realize you weren’t truly happy in the end.

Seems like the whole point of writing her a new job somewhere else storyline. They needed a way to end them without making him a jerk so I'll be cool when him and Lucy get together later. Dating your friend's exes and your exes' friends is perfectly fine in these shows.

I miss Grace, to me she was the best love interest for Nolan. She and him had a natural spark. I don't dislike Jena Dewan's character Bailey, she's fun in a way, but... I just don't feel her with him, plus the fireman side, meeeh. Soon enough they'll develop yet another spin-off about firemen rookies.

This always happens me 💔 with singles mom's they always go back to her children's blood father / baby daddy after he finds out she's dating again then he wins her back and they reconcile the relationship. It Don't matter if they'll either on good or bad terms. Hate do becomes love. It's does really really sucks but that's the dating game 🤷🏻♂️

Nathan Fillion carries a huge trauma from CASTLE. I am talking about the issue of "will they won't they".trust me, every time John Nolan will have a love interest, she will disappear very fast.
Why do you think it's trauma? The show was written that way, NF was just the actor. The show could last if they didn't try to make a completely different show in the season eight and if they didn't try to kickoff Stana.
I’m so tired of people comparing The Rookie to Castle. They are two different shows. Nathan’s an actor and he’s doing what the writers and directors ask him to do in BOTH shows. Get a life people and stop bringing up Ms Katic.

Ksenija Woof wasn’t replying to you but to the original poster. Every show, film, interview, article etc NF is featured these people bring up Castle and Katic. Castle has been done 4 years, move on. And Katic burned her own bridges by demanding more money even more then Fillion. She became a Diva. She’s done like Castle. I’m even more upset with myself that I even respond to these posters. It just frustrates me when they bash NF but then I shouldn’t care. Just look at IMDb at what he’s done since Castle. That proves he’s wanted for his talents in the industry.

Look at the Nathan back than and look at him right now. This Fillion from these days is a lot more realistic to be a pair with a Beckett than a Fillion from Castle season 8th. He had his own reasons to stay, to look, that way till the end of the show and she had her own reasons to ask for a lot more money even though we can't always beleve to the yellow pages, right. While John and Grace were a great couple, I figured something like this was going to happen when her husband was introduced so I didn't mind it as much as when him and Jessica broke up prior to this.

Doesn't make a lik of sense. The worst thing to do is stay together for the kid. Then they're only taught how to have a bad relationship.
On the other hand, if there is a chance that a family can get back together, I certainly would not want to be the guy that stands in the way of that. Them being a family again is a higher priority than her being my girlfriend. As he said, it's ok to put yourself second.
