This is the video I have been looking for! Thanks to you I have more ways of looking for flights for my wife and myself. I have about 150k points with VS. We are trying to do Spain or Italy business class one way. My next step is to look through Air France. Would you recommend something different. Is it possible? Nearest airport is LAX

No worries Oscar, glad to help! Firstly, apologies for the delay.
This should be pretty easy with your Virgin Points one way - providing you book ahead of time. there’s probably two options for you
Air France - you’d be flying Zone 7 to Zone 1 in Business Class for 77500 per person off peak (they don’t advise the dates for peak season though) plus another load of points (4000 up to 600 miles and 7500 up to 1250 miles) for the hop from Paris to Italy/Spain. Similar pricing for KLM. The short haul flight is quite poor value - so you could opt to just do the long haul flight with points, then a separate booking with cash (with a longer connection or preferably stopover to save a little). Alternatively, if you have the liberty of time you could take a high speed train from Paris to Spain or Italy - it can be a very nice way to travel and it’s relatively easy to get from CdG to the city terminal for high speed rail.
On Virgin, I recommend checking the reward flight calendar to see best pricing for things. If you *can* be a little flexible on departure point (e.g. maybe checking SFO and San Diego as a backup) then that may help (but realise it is hassle and LAX does have multiple Virgin flights to Heathrow per day). From London, you could either pick-up a cheapish BA flight on a separate connection with points/cash - that would also need a good connection time or again, a stopover would be better!
Hope this helps and if you need any more help - feel free to drop me an email: contact@callumelsdon.com (no charge, I am happy to impart advice).
