When you realize just how nasty all of these musicians were that were spread across the country in the 90's playing on the gospel stage, you will learn to appreciate this genius. He was one of thee best.
I am not a bassist...but you can tell when something’s great when you hear it I am just blown away following up to who played it till I got here Reggie.... God bless you
Mr Parker.. man thank you for this! I’m up and coming and was just in awe from the playing in the album… now seeing this and actually how to be played is amazing! To be great you gotta learn from the greats so thank you sir!
That licks been in my head since I heard that album back in the 90’s. That other intro you did on “The Gospel Of Jesus Christ” that you did was crazy too. Thanks for the music. ❤️
This guy will always be King 👑.. I remember going to a Hez gig and he came in and sat right next to me. They called up the choir and he walk to the front of the church and crushed this song. Omg! I was on such a high cloud I couldn’t come down for weeks. That’s the effect he and just the whole choir band thing had on us. Those guys was so fire 🔥 miss the old days. This guy is my favorite bass player and I never played a bass. I bought my first bass because the pandemic 😷 now I wanna play like him. I may be too old to learn now lol King Parker 🏆👑🏆
Wow!!! I think the word here is HONOR!!! Because it was just a honor to sit here and watch him play what we had been playing as a teenager and early 20's. When he hit that "I WILL GO IN JESUS' NAME" I couldn't stop smiling. ... that Bass line is so cold!!! I picked my bass right up! Lololol!!! Keep posting these videos! !!!!
OMG x3!!!...Reggie 'Bass-Monsta' Miller is one of the MAIN bassist that made gospel music VALUABLE & MEMORABLE!!..his technique & style no doubt contributed to the SEA of gospel music bassist whom we as saints and church musicians enjoy today!...I thank the Lord for Reggie Miller's music that I still listen to today...I have ALL of the songs he's ever played on my phone or thumb drive right now!...keep on thumpin'4 Jesus my brother Reggie!..thanks for posting Apostle D. *Reggie Parker* Gary Watson Jr. lol. I've watched this vid countless times. He was doing chords/harmonics/melodies WWAAAAYYYY before they became popular for bass players to do in gospel. We're just kinda copying him now smh.

You on the bass guitar with that Hez and J Hall sound is the soundtrack of my late teens and my young adulthood. I wanted to learn to play the bass because of you and then later Debra Killings. I admire your musicianship and knowledge. Thank you sir. God bless

Then imma going to make all my churches sing these songs again. (one perk of being the MD). thanks a millon Mr. Parker. #RESPECT
I wish Gospel music was introduced to me long ago. You are a beast man and I love the 4 string. Marcus Miller is similar in that he is fearless. Nice piece Reggie.
Reggie man I haven't played my 5 string in almost 2 years and I gotta tell ya I really don't miss it. I eventually get back to but I ain't rushing to play it.

Apostle of the bass my brotha RP, you must NEVER stop posting these clips of you BLAZIN' on the bass bru!..not just for the sake of the younger fellas coming along, but also for the sake of your loyal fans (like myself) who relish the 'old-sku' sound of Bishop Hezekiah Walker & LFC Choir (from the 80's/90's)!
I played with a bassist, Ron Jenkins, back in the ‘80’s. He is a monster on bass. Played a lot with guitarist Chuck Loeb. He has a thumb that can drive a beat like a jackhammer. Super player and an incredibly nice guy. Reggie, you should check him out. I think you guys could become ‘fast friends’. Keep rockin it brother!!!! 🚣🤼♂️
AWESOME!! I love the way you play. Can you post of vid of your bass lines you played on "99 1/2" from the album Live in New York by Any Means Necessary? I love that song that is my JAM!!

One of the greatest gospel bass lines ever performed in my opinion. Also just a really great musician & killer bassist !
As a church music minister, I approve of this message. Even If I'm late. I always like to slap and pick even on guitar.
trying to get my overall technique as clean as yours! you're an inspiration! I never hear a bass player do so much on FOUR strings!
That bass just so happens to be a Pensa. Who needs anything else. That thing is incredible.
