@@streetspirit956 bro is out here saying Jude Bellingham isn't good enough, Harry Kane isn't good enough, Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, I could go on and on and on. We have probably the best defenses in the tournament, no one can get the ball into the box against us at the moment. The midfield players just need to perform better and with a bit more energy about them, thats it. Maybe a few tactical tweaks as well but to suggest our players aren't good enough individually is just absolutely ridiculous. It's like saying Germany isn't good enough individually, its just mad
Back the lads including Gareth. They need our support not criticism. The 2016 pathetic squad deserved every bit of criticism but from 2018 until now, this group of players are working hard for that England badge
To be fair Rice is spot on with the first game, the first half was awesome to watch. Pinging passes around, real threat, dominated the half. What we don't want is all the energy being used in the first half and then completely dropping off like the Euros final
After his performance the other night , he needs all the positivity he can get , All the money fans spend to support the team and he telling us to be positive, give us something to be positive about ,
That was no criticism it was an objective depiction of that particular game. Most of these pundits voted for him and foden as top 3 players of the season in the PL and it was deserved.
It is not the players Declan, it's the tactics and strategy that fans are complaining about. You also can't just say that you need positivity just because you are on top of the group. Championship teams don't settle for less until they win at *all costs*. Every game (even if they played great) is always room for improvement. England hasn't won in a thousand years so yes, keep going with the positivity narrative and it will still not come home.
Love this!!! Fans need to help, just believe more and be positive. Glad his got good influences around him and doesn't take the criticism badly. Love his resilience. ❤🎉
He says that if they are doing a low block, it doesn't mean they are not fit enough. And then he says at points they lost control. The point is: When they do a low block, they lose control. Why are they doing a low block at this level? And not a high pressing game like they do at club level. That is exactly the point!
Spot on, England should not be playing a low block in the first place especially so against these lesser teams in the group stage. No wonder the players don’t know what they are doing as they all play for teams that play a high press on the front foot, if your going to play a low block style then Southgate might as well pick players that play for the relegation battlers as they will be used to that style.
what i like about decs is he still knows what it feels like to be a fan...but please pass forwards decs...i also think bellingham should be next to you in midfield and foden in number 10 role with gordon/palmer on the flanks...come on boys
What’s annoying about these post Denmark game interviews is they’re all talking about this like it’s all going to plan. They aren’t physically tired (despite looking like they are), they aren’t dropping deep on purpose (despite looking like they are), they aren’t feeling pressure (despite looking like they are), and ultimately they aren’t playing badly because they’re top of the group (despite as a result of this no opponent whatsoever is going to fear this team based on these terrible performances). Amazing plan guys, can’t believe anyone would criticise it 🙃. “This is tournament football” they keep saying. As if we’ve played France and Spain, rather than absolutely outplayed in 3 halves by the mighty Serbia and Denmark.
Declan, there's a reason these questions are being asked! I'm one of the more positive England fans that actually backs the team in a tournament but even I'm questioning what the hell has gone on in the last two games! Show some positivity after you go a a goal up maybe!
This guy is a fantastic role model and I love his positivity especially towards the players and how bad the media have been hating on some of them. Yes we are aloud to criticise but if your not going to back and support your own nation and belittle them for a couple of poor performances then your not a real fan. COME ON ENGLAND!
Big up the reactions from the squad. I hate all the negativity surrounding our team during the tournaments. Get behind the lads and respect the work and effort they have put in to represent our nation.
the amount of interviews with players, lions den, pundits whining, if these guys win this tournament with amount of noise / press obligations they’ve had I’ll be blown away. what other team is telling the general public how they’re going to play the next game. the coaches on the opposition team must be having a laugh. I hope they win. Imagine winning just to prove your own fans wrong
He’s probably laughing because football illiterate people misunderstood his words and/or have twisted them. England are not fit enough to play high intensity pressing for 7 matches (four of which are potentially 120 minute matches) over a month because literally no team in world football is. And that’s not just stamina, that’s preventing muscle injuries. Anyone with a grain of common sense can understand why England are not playing a high press for a full 90 minutes of group matches when it’s not that important to do so. The current Euros format pretty much guarantees you qualification to the knockouts with a single win, so it makes absolutely no sense to go full throttle in the group games. We’re already through (barring an absolute freak set of results) with a match to spare while playing in second gear and basically treating the group stage as another three warm-up games before the serious stuff starts. The negativity is crazy.
@@rogerioceni2640 ive actually been saying this to people because i cant believe weve actually been this bad on purpose. But it doesn’t really make sense as a strategy when you have such a huge squad, and when you KNOW full well what the reaction will be, which is awful for morale. 1st 2nd and 3rd in the group also makes a huge difference with what opponent you get. So it isnt really a very logical or normal thing to do. Are the other big nations doing it?
Argentina lost their first game of the World Cup 2-1 to Saudi Arabia. In the quarter finals they almost went out as they struggled against the Netherlands, and won on penalties. A positive mentally is everything, as games come thick and fast in cup football. England fans and pundits are the worst in the world for having a negative mentality. Do your complaining if we get knocked out early. Get behind the boys now England! 🏴
@@Sigfried-df2vptrue, we had a bad game, does that mean everyone should lose faith? Italy won the euros by playing below average football, but defended well and had self belief. The difference between us as a footballing nation and those who win trophies are, we hyperfocus on the negative and divide under a bad performance. Look at the news surrounding the Germany/switzerland game ‘Germany secure late draw’. They were poor offensively but focus on the result not the performance
What a wonderful man and a massive talent, one of the best. Don't listen to the way the media are spinning what the ex-England pundits have said. They were always respectful and complimentary about the squads talents, they only said they know you can do better. Forget all the noise and enjoy yourselves.
That’s not how football works, mate. Also bizarre that people think England has the best squad when we have a decent but not world class goalkeeper, no fit left back, one centre back with Champions League experience and one senior CM in the entire squad. We got arguably the best group of attackers and some other very good players but there’s way too many holes in the squad for it to be considered the best.
Its quite obvious he's let the media get to him and he's rattled by it. This England team is not good. The players can't adapt to Southgates system and Southgate didn't get the right players for the system. These players should be able to adapt and if not get different players in.

This just shows how people are way too soft nowadays. Former footballers acting as pundits can’t even criticise the national team’s performances without being labelled negative or toxic. What has the world come to. Are they supposed to lie and pretend England were great to keep the players happy? What a joke
He's making out that it's only TV pundits that were criticising the performance against Denmark. It's not - it was also the fans, journalists and former players. This team needs to learn to take feedback and criticism. That's the only way they will improve. Less talk, more action please Declan.
Its crazy that he thinks people shouldn't have an honest opinion!! Will opinions be banned at some point? Getting that way! The fact he can't see that they are playing crap and people are going to say it shows how spoilt they have become
Love his honesty every team have bad games and he is aware they were poor so lets get behind him now and bring it COME ON ENGLAND ITS COMING HOME 🏴🏴🏴
Trust me, there will be positivity if we play better than our opponent after making it 1-0. We need to play Slovenia off the park tomorrow to see a change of heart amongst the fans so come on lads
I honestly could care less how we win as long as we win... and i am happy with the team, another quaterfinals, fourth quarterfinal in 4 tournaments now. that is huge
Southgate: Admits players aren't fit, admits players aren't following his instructions, admits Trent experiment isn't working, admits we're not playing well. Rice: I can't believe the fans are being so negative!!!!
We need to get behind the boys. People seem to lose their minds if we play badly we're out and if we play well we going to win the Euros and the World Cup. People tend to forget how far Gareth has taken us and given us hope. I am being positive and hoping now that we've got our really bad game out of our system and now we can kick on.
Play like you actually care about representing the country and the country will get behind you. It's what has seperated us from other nations for years and years and years.

The only positive is that England can still improve and win it
if they tweak the tactics and personnel.
they cant. It doesnt matter what formation or tactics they employ, the players simply arent good enough and are hugely over-rated. They are technically inferior to the other nations.
@@streetspirit956 The first 30 minutes will give us an idea of how England will perform in the finals.
@@streetspirit956 brain dead take
@@danfr444 your the one thats brain dead if you cant see it for yourself. Englands technical inferiority to the other nations has been apparant for decades and never gets addressed. I suspect GS may well change tactics/formation on the back of all the criticism but I can 100% guarantee that as soon as England play a good team in a knockout round they will lose as this is how it ends every major tournament.
@@streetspirit956 bro is out here saying Jude Bellingham isn't good enough, Harry Kane isn't good enough, Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, I could go on and on and on. On paper we have an absolutely incredible team, everyone knows it. Compare our team to Denmark or Serbia we should be comfortably beating them.
The 2016 pathetic squad deserved every bit of criticism but from 2018 until now, this group of players are working hard for that England badge
it's not just criticism from former players, no no no. It's the whole country saying the same things
To be fair Rice is spot on with the first game, the first half was awesome to watch. Pinging passes around, real threat, dominated the half.
What we don't want is all the energy being used in the first half and then completely dropping off like the Euros final
After his performance the other night , he needs all the positivity he can get ,
All the money fans spend to support the team and he telling us to be positive, give us something to be positive about ,
Dec is very honest in any interveiw he gives. A breath of fresh air
England hasn't won in a thousand years so yes, keep going with the positivity narrative and it will still not come home.
love your honesty and positivity Declan, its a shame you didnt come to united! Come on England, he's right. where is the support??
Legend. Speaks so honestly. Good man
'Let's have some positivity!'
Ok, in that case...give us a reason TO be positive, because you're not.
So many people lost their bet against iceland and coming on here giving hate....stop it
Love this!!! Fans need to help, just believe more and be positive. Glad his got good influences around him and doesn't take the criticism badly. Love his resilience. ❤🎉
It's good to hear Declan speak much needed words . Best wishes for him and the rest of the players in Cologne tomorrow .
100% agree. We should support our country n the constant negativity does not help. Come on England!! 🦁🦁🦁
Great interview! Well in Dec 💪
Very honest from Declan personally I think he should be captain always has been reliable every match he is a presence and makes an impact in games
Declan rice we got him half price
He says that if they are doing a low block, it doesn't mean they are not fit enough. And then he says at points they lost control. The point is: When they do a low block, they lose control. Why are they doing a low block at this level? And not a high pressing game like they do at club level. That is exactly the point!
Spot on, England should not be playing a low block in the first place especially so against these lesser teams in the group stage. No wonder the players don’t know what they are doing as they all play for teams that play a high press on the front foot, if your going to play a low block style then Southgate might as well pick players that play for the relegation battlers as they will be used to that style.
Good honest answers to good questions.
Declan Rice got me feeling like I wanna run through a brick wall. What a leader! Future England captain. As he said “let’s av it”
Hes such a amazing player 🎉 amazing interview 👏
Tough questions. Couldn't have a better man answering the questions. Top class.
I’d love some fucking positivity… unfortunately our 2 games were the worst 2 I’ve watched in the whole tournament…
Apart from Scotland’s first game, right?
Otherwise you’re just being disingenuous. Or didn’t watch it!
Oh my god shut up
@@Vilutusk That's like saying Chelsea wasn't bad because Sheff Utd were worse
@@adamphillip5305 No,, its pointing out the inaccuracy of the guys post.
@@Vilutusk Scotland might have performed worse, but they showed ten times the heart and all their games have been entertaining.
Say what you like, you can’t help feeling proud to have someone like this putting on the England shirt 🏴 great interview.
Great answers Declan.
Should have stayed with the Republic of Ireland, more his level and standard of football.
what i like about decs is he still knows what it feels like to be a fan...but please pass forwards decs...i also think bellingham should be next to you in midfield and foden in number 10 role with gordon/palmer on the flanks...come on boys
DECLAN RICE JUST NEEDS TIME AS HIS TIME WITH ARSENAL PROVED IT.🔥.
We are begs ....
They should be saying .. " were gonna show you"
But we saying please be positive please be nice 🤣👀
I love Delcan Rice.
Germany has more scrutiny
lol he's taken all the criticism so personally
3:26 nah this is hilarious Rice had to pause for a second and be like damn this is all true 😂😂😂
Not a robot Kane talking thankfully, good interview
Whys he laughing like we said they werent fit enough, the manager said it, so go and laugh at him dec!
@@rogerioceni2640England fans are some of the dumbest people you will ever encounter
@@rogerioceni2640Spain don't seem to be struggling to do it.
Not the fart at 10:12😂
Declan this isn't West Ham we need to play attacking football
Tell the manager
Argentina lost their first game of the World Cup 2-1 to Saudi Arabia. In the quarter finals they almost went out as they struggled against the Netherlands, and won on penalties. A positive mentally is everything, as games come thick and fast in cup football. England fans and pundits are the worst in the world for having a negative mentality. Do your complaining if we get knocked out early. Get behind the boys now England! 🏴
The Saudis hit them twice on the break they never dominated Argentina the same way as England have been so far this euros
Boring walking football we all know these players can play fast fluid football
That is what is disappointing not the results
Being in denial is a great attribute for any footballer ha. Let's have it Dec.
It is an essential part of any professional sportsman's toolbox
I love declan rice.
We need to see England winning every game in this tournament coz England has the best squad 👌👌
That’s not how football works, mate.
Also bizarre that people think England has the best squad when we have a decent but not world class goalkeeper, no fit left back, one centre back with Champions League experience and one senior CM in the entire squad. We got arguably the best group of attackers and some other very good players but there’s way too many holes in the squad for it to be considered the best.
lol declan laughing at the are the players fit enough question. does he know he's own manager said they are not? lmfao
Its quite obvious he's let the media get to him and he's rattled by it. This England team is not good. The players can't adapt to Southgates system and Southgate didn't get the right players for the system. These players should be able to adapt and if not get different players in.
Noone asked for Trent in midfield. There's a reason klopp didnt play him there for Liverpool.
Really love him as a player, he's such a lovely soul and you can tell he really wants this 🥰🥰 also love that he's sticking up for the boys what a guy ❤🤍🏴 c'mon England 🏴 ❤🤍
He’s right “pundits who’ve been in their position” the likes of Rio, Shearer, Big Meeks, Gary Neville all need to relax. Faaaaar to critical. They Have all forgotten that none of them ever took their club form to the national team 😂. Well said Declan!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
The defenders did to be fair. They were always ridiculously hard to break down.
They didn't criticize they gave an objective view on that particular game
It's thier job to analyze the game.
Well not one of these current pundits one anything for there country. Not one. Not a euro or world cup
This just shows how people are way too soft nowadays. Former footballers acting as pundits can’t even criticise the national team’s performances without being labelled negative or toxic. What has the world come to. Are they supposed to lie and pretend England were great to keep the players happy? What a joke
Well done Decs for standing up for yourself and for your team mates. We're behind you mate! Kick on, play with freedom and enjoy yourself 🇬🇧⚽
He's making out that it's only TV pundits that were criticising the performance against Denmark. It's not - it was also the fans, journalists and former players. This team needs to learn to take feedback and criticism. That's the only way they will improve. Less talk, more action please Declan.
Great interview, people being negative in the comments really are a sorry bunch
Fair play to declan rice here honest and open now to back it up against slovenia! Lets av it 🫶🏻
Its crazy that he thinks people shouldn't have an honest opinion!!
Well done Declan. Calm and composed. Go and win it tomorrow!
Since he came to arsenal i have never seen rice performe below 7. Most games he's been 7 or above.
southgate is the problem not the players
Is Southgate still on the pitch kicking the ball around?
@@wildsurfer12 He picks the team, formation, strategy, tactics, and should be reacting to what he sees on the pitch making real time changes.
@@joseph1845 is it his fault when players make woeful passes and lose possession as well?
@@wildsurfer12It’s the players who play in high pressing clubs week in week out, who are deciding to sit back after scoring for England?
What problem? He’s yet again successfully navigating England through to the latter stages of a tournament.
I agree that Trent can play in midfield. It's not because one specific player it has been disappointing periods.
There fully aware of what’s needed. Hopefully we see the reaction Tuesday! Come on lads bring it home
Well said Declan. You e told me everything I need to hear to know that you are all going to turn this around!! ❤❤❤ you’ve got this⚡️💥💪🏻
Play like you actually care about representing the country and the country will get behind you. It's what has seperated us from other nations for years and years and years.
