When using a magnum (mag) for shading or color packing, the hand pressure can vary compared to doing line work. Generally, you’ll want to use lighter pressure with a mag because the needles are spread out over a wider area, and pressing too hard can cause the needles to go too deep, leading to unnecessary trauma to the skin. In contrast, for line work, you often apply more consistent pressure to ensure the ink is deposited evenly and the lines are crisp. However, with a mag, you might also need to adjust the angle and speed more frequently to achieve smooth shading or even color distribution without overworking the skin.
I m tattooing professionally 25 years ... I ve been guesting 2 times at the states and and many times at international tattoo conventions..I ve been tattooing for 2 years at the Marquises Islands at Nuku Hiva also tapping with traditional tools,Patutiki...as for your scratching it's very easy to say that if u notice the quality of your lines and how many times you passing over n over the same spot to shade it...who's the kid now my scratcher???😂
@@lamprospetrou2845 Thank you for sharing your extensive experience and insights in the tattoo industry. It's clear that you have a wealth of knowledge and skills, especially with your time guesting in the States, attending international conventions, and working in the Marquesas Islands using traditional tools. I'm just a humble tattooist who's trying to improve every day and I never claim to be the best. I've been working on improving my technique and would greatly appreciate any suggestions or lessons you might have on how to become a better tattooist. Your guidance would be invaluable to me as I strive to enhance the quality of my work. Alternatively, if you think I should reconsider my career in tattooing, I would value your honest opinion. Thank you for your time and consideration
God Bless you, I m wishing u the best at your tattooing, my humble opinion to you is to try to master first tattooing and learn from qualified tattooists before u try to teach others...all the best wishes !
