This is it Shizuka-san. Going to Japan next year booked and uncancellable but insured XD Being honest, There is just so much thing to do in Japan in this case drinking or Eating wise. I have been there and I always feel like weeks is not enough and very fast XD And being honest I wish I could live there and doing my best on studying the Language and culture good and bad.. Japan is so Amazing in many ways no matter how other people will see it.. in my opinion..
If your in Shinjuku i would say Golden Gai can be a fun hangout, yes it's a tourist trip, so dont go in the bar with just tourists, take a leap and go into a bar with only japanese. Just make sure it's not a members only, be nice and calm and read the room. Sometimes they do say sorry members only even if it's not displayed, dont overthink it just try another one. Had such a blast in Golden gai by my self during multiple visit, dont think i've had a single time where i didnt end up speaking with someone local, even if google translate was needed with some.
Are you wearing a mushroom necklace??? 🍄🌷💖 I abstained from alcohol for many years, but recently began re-integrating some good beer/ale. I LOVE BEER! It has to be a real craft/ferment of good ingredients and spirit. Also, I fast all day like always. Only exercise/water/botanical-medicines in the daytime, but when I settle into the nest/temple and end my day, break my fast, begin feeding/resting, I start with a good, strong beer. Beer is amazing, or it can be.
Alcohol-free red wine . . . I suppose if you gently heat the wine, the alcohol would evaporate without changing the taste. Or maybe it works if you go the flambé route, heating it up then igniting the alcohol in a big flame (kids, don't try this without your parents permssion!). Seems like they have some creative folks there making up the drinks! Cheers!
I can see why drinking alone can be considered to be unhealthy. But drinking with people is more likely to be unhealthy coz there's almost always someone in the group to get everyone to drink more. If you drink alone, you're more highly likely to step when you want.
I loved the intro ... so funny! But no, I wouldn't go to any of these places. I like the more down to Earth places, grittier, blue collar, etc. I love it when you find the little small hidden places and they are noisy, crowded, and fun.

In America solo drinking is normal but you can’t have your handgun on you if you’re drinking. Sorry I’m not doing anything without my handgun. Yes I carry it in my own home (where do home invasions happen?). Japan got disarmed when they lost (don’t F with Americas boats) so solo drinking makes total sense.

I'm also half japanese and have this slightly awkward japanese grammer with little to no accent. I cringe when I do it, but admire Shizuka for leaning in. I need to get over my weird japanese.
