I was a kid and tween in the 90s...honestly most o these clothes give me flashbacks to what I used to wear back then...like the colorful windbreakers and fanny packs. I just can’t get down with that again. That’s probably why my mom can’t get down with flared and wide legged pants because she was a teen and young adult in the 60s/70s haha 🙈 Anyways, I really do like the mom jeans trend...maybe because I don’t vividly remember wearing those (I probably did though...)
The same happens to me... While I was just a toddler - little kid back in the late 90s to early 00s, I remember my mom buying me "trendy clothing" like plaid pants, birkenstocks, chokers and the like, so I don't really like those trends.
I feel the same way with certain trends. If anything from the early 2000s comes back, I would definitely not be participating. I remember in the early 2000s, my Mom bought me a pair of “mom jeans,” right when they were going out of style. I would get teased because of the loose fit!

I live in Germany and I've seen the thin-strapped Celine-ish sandals worn last year; the combat boots we've been seeing on the runway since 2012 and re-visited again by Dior on the runway last year; the clean, white sneakers has been around since Stan Smith was re-introduced several years ago; the ugly dad sneakers were everywhere the past year or two; everything plaid has been around the last two years, etc. My best friend from LA would send me US fashion magazines from time to time and, TBH, I often feel like I'm browsing an old European magazine (their trends are rather 'behind' compared to the the trends in Europe). Props to Haley though for buying trendy items from thrift shops and for the effort in creating an interesting video!
christina - I thought the same thing when I was watching the video, I live in Europe too. But I saw some other videos about like trends that need to stay in 2018 and a few the trends in this vid where in these vids too and the vids where American.
This has been in Asia for a long time too (mostly East Asia and international) I think most of it is American based fashion but it comes back in style other places first. Kinda ironic lol!
