Jean Grae and her husband Quelle Chris dropped the No.1 album for me from 2018 Everything is fine. It was witty, concious, eccentric(felt like a shroom trip) and super creative. Give it a whirl if you have nt already.

I just LOVE that, not even for one minute, will she allow you to use her prowess to tear down another woman's place in the game. She refuses to be an agent of discord and dissonance when she can uplift other women instead. It's so beautiful and so needed. Her entire aura gives me chills. DOPE.

I came specifically to hear her stance on the Jermaine Dupri bullshit but watched as far as her listing her top 5 only to be annoyed by Ebro and Rosenberg trying to deny her list of her favorite MC's because she stated Jay Electronica is in her list as mentioned in the title. That's disrespectful! I'm probably more offended than she is but you can't ask for someone's opinion and then immediately try to knock it down as if the person is not entitled to it. what type of bullshit is that? These type of situations are the reason why I don't often bother with watching artists interview on HOT97 anymore. Y'all lame!

Nitty Scott stopped being an emcee dropped it out her name. Embraced the other lane “and it breaks my heart”. Her earlier work I resonate so much with from a mental health stand point. It’s emo rap but it’s not emo rap lol. But it is and emotionally troubled women emotionally full. Women who go through that struggle can really appreciate young Nitty. She rapped on the mental health stigma. What it really feels like to be that low sometimes. I love her for it. We need her back.

It took a while 4 I even heard about Rapsody and that was a year or so before Leilas Wisdom with former vidroscpn here and an EP, forgot the title, brainfart, Gldzilla and The Man are on there, Drama amo great songs and her gramny nominated LW was almost as fenominal, but this one: EVE, sounded like her best album yet, she deserves the Grammy this time around and not the same guys or populair rappers who aren't nearly as good, like Minaj and the lovely Cardi B. Love all rap just not equally as much, depending on the subjects and the beats. Rapsody kills it every time and is one of the few female mc's who can rap alongside of the Kendrick Lamars of the hiphop scene!! Very impressive and she looks great btw!!

I listened to both of her albums several times. I'm not sure if she's rapping. It's more spoken words. We have clubs here that give artists a platform for spoken word. I hear her sound all the time.

I like it when a rapper doesnt sing. If i want singing i listen to Mariah. I think its cheating cause then the sound is easier on the ear and easier to like. Rapsody like Jay and Common dont sing. To me thats being hardcore as you rely more on your lyricism to be interesting. But i cant knock other rappers for their style at the end of the day. Styles are different. I just want them to bring bars to the rhythm Rapsody does that. That's rap.

The Lauryn Hill placement on a top whatever list is kinda tricky to me and got me to thinking about the music of the artists we put on our "top" lists.
Obviously we're talking about the overall artists and not albums but those albums put those artists on the pedestals.
For instance would Jay-Z still be on everybody's top 5 or 10 if the music from the Blueprint or Black album was different.
That's gotta be another slot in terms of judging these artists.
Take away the music and would some of these artists still be on your top 10??
