Key Largo, Woman In The Window, Scarlet Street, and The Stranger.. I have a new-found respect for Edward G. Robinson!

Brilliant film. Edward G Robinson is really hateful, as Lionel Barrymore was in It’s a Wonderful Life. Two of the best villains in cinema history.

One of my favorite films. The bar where still exists where some of it was shot, including the outside shot. It is the Caribbean Club in Key Largo, still a real local type bar. It had hotel rooms as the movie depicted, but after a fire the upper floors were taken out.

Love this one. I love everything with Robinson or Bogart, though! Well maybe not Isle of Fury.
Such a great cast. Even the smaller parts are filled by interesting character actors.

This is thee classic !👍 Ya know anytime you have 2 greats, like Bogart and Robinson in the same movie, it's got to be great. They sure don't make 'em like that anyone.

    Couple of corrections:
Rocco's boat's not washed away - the captain clears off because of the danger of foundering on the reef and because of Rocco's threats - Robinson even says so in the film.
Nor is the time "just after the winter season" - at one point there's talk of the November season starting in a couple of months, so it's September (the 1935 Labour Day hurricane, referred to in the film, also occurred at the start of September).
    It's not a house, it's a hotel; yes, that's a house, but it's not a private house.
There are points in the script that are poignant bearing in mind the perception in our 21st century that there are forces in society that get to rule the roost and have things their own way come what may, and Rocco echoes this by strutting and controlling and determining outcomes: As Frank says: "Those he can't control, he corrupts; those he can't corrupt, he kills." But one thing even Rocco is afraid of: the forces of Mother Nature.
Appreciated the review on all points, thank you.

Thanks the corrections friend. Since it's a hobby channel I do my best but I do mess up things from time to time. I'm trying to get better at double checking my script prior to recording for that reason too! 😀
