My Friend Matt told me to hold the date and wouldn't tell me until we entered the church what was up...people from MTV were s the door and couldn't get it, only hardcore fans got the tickets, I was so blessed to be there, the most amazing show ever - it was pure magic.
I have been singing and and studying all sorts of music for years now, her voice and sense of dynamics in the mix (not to mention her melodic sense) is just on another level.
I love her “thank you.” It is so endearing and seems so true. When I saw her at Bonnaroo a few years back. She said it after almost every song. It sort of became an ongoing theme through the weekend. “Thank you.” We need more of that in the world.
incredible. i was fortunate to see a very similar set up in london at St John Smith Square. bjork started the show with this song entering from the back of the room singing and walking to the stage. Only 90 fans. unforgettable.
I managed to get tickets for the 2 opening concerts of the tour, at the Grand Rex in Paris (18 and 20 August), but there were also 2 concerts planned a few days later at the medieval Sainte Chapelle, near Notre Dame cathedral. But it was impossible to get tickets for those :-(
i attended a very similar performance of this song at St John's Smith Square in London where Bjork walked through the crowd like this in her bare feet, so exposed and vulnerable, so beautiful.
Oh my God, she has a incredible control in her voice, that I find so emotional and naturally expressive, her voice is the mirror of her semplicity and the beauty of her soul. I love her!
An artist like no other. Hundreds of years from now her music, voice, imagery, and songs will be studied and pined over. We are so lucky to have witnessed a living legend.
apparently, right, just to make you even more jealous- the setlist for this night included Cocoon, Aurora, It's Not Up To You, and Undo... who's gonna help me hunt down the audience and rip out their ear-drums and their memories?
perfect! (thom yorke's favorite song) my favorite part 1:19 when she laughs because of the church singers, the laugh combined with the singing is just too much
When people were eating in my church during celebrate recovery..the mic would be on in the main congregation room. I would sneak in and sing unravel. I was there because of my broken heart. My wife of 34 years left me for a younger man. 3 years alone & Through much love & prayers from Jesus & my CR family I have a new wonderful & loving wife! Shelly n Keith forever! Your an Amazing blessing to this world Bjork! We love you!
If I remember correctly, there were some serious problems when it came to getting tickets for this concert. Tickets could be purchased online from a particular website, this was announced several weeks in advance, but the website was password protected. Once the day on which the tickets were supposed to go on sale had arrived, someone forgot to remove the password, and so fans were frantically trying to get access by trying very possible password they could think of. The password turned out to be: church.
Oh Bjork. You are a rare creature, truly beautiful, because truly beautiful things dont have to ask for attention. Why arent there more women like her in the world. Its not fair.😢
This is pure talent, this is what music and lyrics are..this is what an artist is...Bjork writes/composes/organizes/engineers..and the list goes on...none of this playback lip syncing stuff that has become popular at the end of the 90s..that more than half the artists in the industry do..that shouldn't even be famous or be called artists, seeing as they don't even do anything..just pay people off to write/compose/create for them.I'm not going to drop names but everyone knows who I'm speaking of
This song is touching my deepest emotions. If I only were there, how outstanding it'd been, so close, so directly feeling this talent, enomerous voice. All time I see Björk live (unfortunately I never saw her in real life live) she seems so vulnerable, so open, since she - as I believe - is realy singing right from her soul...Björk is THE milestone in my life. I'd die for...
Her vocal control is crazy. Such a talented signer.
She put me through middle and high school. Still listening to her. This was so beautiful. Love you girl.
YES
Same!
Ily
wholeheartedly envy this audience.
stachiano same
Samee! They were able to live through the performance of some of my favorite songs and album of all times
I was there. Will never forget.
The tickets were probably floating around the $1000 range. INFINITELY worth the price. I'd like to get to know everyone who showed up.

You're so lucky!
Bless matt
I absolutely LOVE how she walks out into the audience while she sings. It's like she's relaying an anecdote rather than performing.
that's the luckiest audience in the history of audiences.
Agreed
this is beyond correct. i''ve had singer friends, and when they pop off it's LOUD and BEAUTIFUL. i can't imagine the power bjork brings.
@@jasonh9932 indeed
9 years later and this is still correct. This performance is special.
@@Thinkaboutit121 It is
1:20 i love when she smiles while singing
I have been singing and and studying all sorts of music for years now, her voice and sense of dynamics in the mix (not to mention her melodic sense) is just on another level.
The melodies are perfect yet not overindulgent
Her vocal resonance is unmatched.
Otherworldly.
I'm a 42 yr old man. I get tears in my eyes and goosebumps when I watch this. Truly Truly Amazing!!
that's me in the very beginning 😉talking. I sat right next to the huge TV cameras. God, I can't believe its been 15 years, omgoodnes😔
I’m so jealous but also very happy you got to experience that !
The mic is attached to the front of her dress. But the echo in the church is beautiful. Very powerful voice.
I love her “thank you.” It is so endearing and seems so true. When I saw her at Bonnaroo a few years back. She said it after almost every song. It sort of became an ongoing theme through the weekend. “Thank you.” We need more of that in the world.
the high note she hits at 1:45 is just killer. her tone there is so pure and clear. her voice is so powerful.
I would have died!!!!i don’t think they know how blessed they were to experience this!!
I was there and it was surreal indeed

There's no word to express what I feel for Björk
You will never read this or know that this is you're song. I love you Kiyo
Tell us more.
that's so sweet ❤ hope things have turned out well
God knows
The one we're meant for will know, and they too will have a song for us, and we won't even have to ask.
i attended a very similar performance of this song at St John's Smith Square in London where Bjork walked through the crowd like this in her bare feet, so exposed and vulnerable, so beautiful.
Some people are talented, some people are gifted and then there is Bjork,,,,,,,,,She cant be from our galaxy!!! OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Amazing
Oh my God, she has a incredible control in her voice, that I find so emotional and naturally expressive, her voice is the mirror of her semplicity and the beauty of her soul. I love her!
Absolutely mesmerizing, her voice was at full force right here.
What a performance...she is stunning!
"while you are away
my heart comes undone....

Still blown away by her voice despite I've listened to that song a billion times... a fucking gem
I've watched this a bunch of times now... and... I think it's one of the best things I've ever seen.
A church is an appropriate place for a Bjork concert because her music is a religious experience

The full beautiful set :)
experiencing her is like becoming conscious of breathing, she is it
Her moves are mesmerizing for some odd reason.. beautiful
La song de Björk que me emociona hasta las lágrimas ;(
You know you're good when everyone likes your song.
You know you're a legend when Thom Yorke loves your song.
She is so cute and just fuckin amazing
Makes me cry like a baby!!
perfect! (thom yorke's favorite song) my favorite part 1:19 when she laughs because of the church singers, the laugh combined with the singing is just too much
I would be collapsing and trying to hug her, but she'd probably punch me XD
+Kevin Blank ha !
The way she walks down the aisle in that dress REALLY reminds me of the Black Lake video
so insanely next level
Why am I crying?!!😭
the best version!
my favorite video on youtube, forever.
I LOVE BJORK FOREVER!!! I adore her uniqueness, confidence and her talent. Totally dream come true to see her live!!
ughh my heart cant handle this
I can not make it 30 seconds into this without getting weepy.
Yo soy una piedra pero ella me hace llorar
I feel so lucky to have happened to tape this off of HBO (I believe). The most amazing performance I've ever seen.
Wow....this is breathtaking. I would love to have been there!!
I've wasted my childhood listening to boybands and pop. I should've paid more attention to Bjork.
What you listening to these days?
I remember watching this like at 2am on MTV or HBO in Junior High (1999 or so) completely mesmerized. I think the program was called Reverb?
This sentence broke my heart
And there's me, listening to Björk and Boybands lol
Everyone can have both of the Worlds.
I just love the way this sounds in the church. Simply beautiful.
One of kind. No one compares.
Nice story, I can't wait to see her perform again, she is the most original, humble and talented artist of our time.
This is what music is all about.
I love it when she sings while smiling. You can hear it instantly.
She is on absolutely another level. INCREDIBLE.

Her work has been my church for decades. Never a time I listen to this song that I don’t cry my eyes out.
I'm responsible for 1,000 of the views here...and counting. Chills every time....Have a great day!
this performance gives me so much peace
this is so valuable
One of the best lives of Björk
I believe it was phrase "The devil collects it" and the fact that she was singing in a church, what made her laugh. hehe
This is one of her most beautiful performances...and those stockings, so cute!

she doesn't even use a mic to help her! a legend.
its a small.chapel inside a cathedral. the acoustics are perfect. on top, carved into the stone wall/frame is "The truth shall set you free."
I thought it was a playback... so perfect!
She has a little mic attached to her dress
such a beautiful song
after all these years, this is still my favorite thing on the internet. i visit often. thank you for sharing this.
I can listen to this song (especially to this performance) all over again, again and again.
I'm high on Bjork. and I'm in love with this song.
i would have been crying myself out the whole time had I been there
Wow she is singing without microphone
i liked how walked up and down the aisle singing her heart out! :)
Totally unbelievable and beautiful voice.
Amazing performance, bjork always a wave of sound and emotion
No mobile phone, only people living the moment!
Absolutely incredible performance! 🎵🎧♥️👍
man oh man nothing beats this! her voice is so soothing

It's just one of those songs for me. Incredible performance too. Her "thank you" at the end is so humble. Bless your heart, dear.
