    Rest in Peace Sensei. Jon Bluming was a giant in Judo and Karate. A true 10th Dan Grandmaster. A natural tough guy. Even without the Japanese Arts.

      Jon Blumings Kyokushin Budo Kai, Kudo and Enshin Karate are some of the most complete systems and are all a combination of Kyokushin Karate and Judo.

    I wish Shokei Matsui would adopt Kyokushin Budokai. It will help Kyokushin to be a more complete system. Plus Jon Bluming is family, basically Mas Oyama's adopted son.

      I wish Shokei Matsui would save old Kyokushin, as complete system. I like Kyokushin only for the old basik technik, but few people can use it. I used uraken mavashi uchi (favorite M.Oyama punch) in a real street fight , and I knocked down three hoodlums in 1 fighting. I used the block age uchi against the baseball bat, it hurt but I won by counterattack. (sorry for my english, i am russian)

      You could train kudo daido juku. It is kyokushin with an mma take on it and like you would say more complete. The thing is the more you incorporate into your fighting style the more you have to train. So when you train ground fighting and standup there isn't so much time for other things like body conditioning or kata. At the end you can simply train mma this is a more complete fighting style, hybritized from all kind of Styles. And there isn't that old and weird belt graduating stuff.

    It’s just traditional Kyokushin mixed with Judo. Cuz he is using hand techniques that are banned in modern Kyokushin competitions. Which I agree Mass Oyama did fall victim to. And before that Kyokushin was much like every traditional karate style only it had more combinations and was stronger.

      @@scarred10 That's strangely ironic because the original version of Kyokushin had Judo stuff because it got turned into a form of bareknuckle slugfest without grappling. Why did they not decide retain in their kumite format?

    00:48 What is this, Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man or something? Dude has no clue what he's doing. That's the problem with karate. See these younger guys here in the dojo, they're well trained, they're dedicated and they're doing their thing, but then when it's time for the ol' "grandmasters" to show up and prance around, everyone just plays along and disregards the fact that so many of them are just complete phonies and idiots who know nothing. That sort of misunderstood traditionalism and veneration is really doing the martial arts in.

    Correct technique and focus is fundamental.....obviously, no one,especially the big guy in opening sequence has ever been correctly instructed

    • @JvS1711
      @JvS1711 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I know this is an ancient comment, but my god, do some research next time before you embarrass yourself. Bluming (the big guy in the opening sequence) was the first non-Japanese to receive a 6th dan in Kyokushin from Mas Oyama, back in 1965. He trained, in Japan, with the likes of Draeger and Geesink.

    • @jimmyalderson1639
      @jimmyalderson1639 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sandy Herman and to add to that he's also one of the few non-japanese to nake the japanese judo team struggle. He knows what he's kn about.
      I don't even understand what you're comment says. At first it says they're doing good technique and practising the fundamentals, the next you say they clearly have no instruction. What does that even mean?
