      Could you guys do a terminology, and explanation, video for the difference in shoes? Eg. Start with a feature, say hard vs soft rubber, explain what that means, and how it affects your climbing. Is better for smearing, slab climbing etc. I'm pretty new to climbing and think there any many like me that don't know what to look for in a shoe.

    Could you do a more allround review of climbing shoes? Add in some more brands, and just share you guys's expriences with them.
    I guess between the people you guys have in your video's you've tried quite a few shoes.
    I would like to fit climbing shoes ofcourse, but the stores in my city mainly retail LaSportiva and Scarpa. So maybe solution, skwama, testarossa, instinct, vapor,...

    People should wear the climbing shoe that fits best. That said the only shoes I've found that fit me are Scarpas. My feet are Scarpa shaped. (really high arch, wide at the ball, and close heel)

    • @TheBanana202
      @TheBanana202 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i like my scarpas but they seem to be stretching way too much. i bought them pretty small, they were almost painful to wear at first but now i feel like they are too comfy.

    I used to have the Moccasyms (5.10) and now have the Up Mocc (unparallel), and gotta say I prefer the unparallel version of the mocc because although both are comfy slip-ons that can be worn all day, the up mocc has slightly better heel for heel hooking and a rubber toe patch for better toe hooks, without sacrificing the comfort. Thanks for the videos as always!

      how do they perform for various styles of bouldering? i do a lot of switching between overhung and vertical wall bouldering, but moreso the latter. Thanks!

    There's a low volume version of the regulus!!!! I had 5 pairs of hiangle women's n now use regulus lv in the same size. They're fantastic shoes and I highly reccomend them!

  • @BreakingBeta
    @BreakingBeta 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I can personally vouch for the up moccs from unparallel, they are rad! I had the old five ten moccs, and the unparallel pair had a snugger fit which I loved, a way better toe, check out the toe rubber, and a way better heel. Stoked you guys tried UP as they are my local shoe brand here in SoCal!

    • @yrvindell1499
      @yrvindell1499 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Just some questions about the UP Mocc.
      How'd you size them? I'm looking to size them to get a lot of power into my toes to make up for the performance that is missing from downturn and asymmetry.
      How do they perform for technical bouldering? I find myself doing a lot of heel and toe hooks

  • @sonnsingh
    @sonnsingh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think the Regulus LVs are narrower, I had an issue with the heel though as my feet don't seem to fit all the way into it (air pocket) so had to return them. I do have slightly blocky feet though so maybe i should have tried the men's version. I like the Up moccs though. Thanks for the discount Bob.

    My understanding is this:
    Unparallel - Five Ten (made in USA shoes, not the since 2019 made in China products)
    Engage VCS = Rogue VCS
    Up Rise VCS = Anasazi VCS
    Regulus = HiAngle (grey/aqua) (just with a better heel?)
    Vega = Team
    Sirius Lace = (old) Dragon (just a little bit wider in the forefoot for more comfort)
    and now...
    Newtro = ? Aleon or something? or another, probably old, Five Ten design? Any infos to this?
    RUBBER:

    RS.... "rubber soft" ~original Stealth HF

    • @philipppuchner1115

      @@김경훈-t9p No, not the same. The Vega is the Team from Unparallel. Which consist of ex Five Ten Employees.

    Is it common amongst all that Hi-Angles last only 3 or 4 months like mentioned in the video? Seems like a isolated case because I’ve been wearing mine heavily as a training shoe for 6 months and they’re doing just fine. I also know a few others who train in them and they have decent longevity.

    Does anyone have any advice for my feet? Any pair of climbing shoes I buy fall off my heels within 3 months. Like it is impossible to heel hook with them as they just fall off my heel, no matter how tight I do them up. Aggressive or soft or laced or Velcro or tight or loose, all fall off my heel after like 3 months, v annoying

    How much should a good climbing shoe cost?

    • @GavynPendleton
      @GavynPendleton 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lämmeltåget $75-$200 (US) usually. You really get what you pay for up to about 140, and over that you don’t notice much difference. You can bring that down by buying older versions of higher end shoes. Most of all shoe performance will be dependent on rubber and how well it fits you. Now let’s see all the people who disagree with me.

    • @MF-CLIMB
      @MF-CLIMB 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gavyn Pendleton sensible comment. Not sure why anyone would disagree with that? Not much controversy in your comment.

      many of their shoes are highly asymmetrical so it makes sense they won’t fit many peoples feet. i personally love the fact that they’re asymmetrical but since my old shoes were the old 5.10 dragons no surprise there. not the most comfortable but that’s not really any surprise either lol and i wasn’t looking for comfort anyways. overall i rate the shoes 8.5/10 but to each their own. the most important thing is that you find a shoe that works for you
