      If I understood your question correctly, it may not be necessary to do so. All depends on the problem and other materials present in the model.

    Now iam studying for using anisotropic polycrystal material in abaqus with euler angles data, I want to do validation regards to in-situ experimental data which in every strain the euler angles changes. Do you think its possible to extract euler angles in every strain using abaqus? If it is so, please let me know how to do it? It will be very helpfull! 🙌
    My goals is to create dynamic inverse pole figure during deformation.

      Glad that you and others are finding it useful.
      Which umat are you using? It may be storing or writing rotations or updated orientation which could then be used to plot orientation maps for every increment. Can you share to have a look?

    why should we define the orientation for some problems but not for others?
    and how to use *orientation subroutine with a UEL? Do you have any examples?

      If there is anisotropy in material behaviour then it is important to define orientation and directional properties

      These are the number of independent components of the elasticity tensor. You can look into any theory of elasticity book to see how to get them. There are standard relationships which can be used to reduce number of constants, such as positive definiteness condition, stability criteria, etc.

    I have one doubt, by default how is the material orientation is changing for elements randomly in places. Is it due to the extrude direction if it is hex elements or is the node numbering sequence changing?

      If you mean during deformation, yes if you use finite deformation theory, then it accounts for rotation of material point and hence tracks the orientation.

      Take OS Quad element for example (CQUAD4)
      The node numbering sequence is in anticlockwise manner for the element
      This is the sequence
      G4------G3
      | |
      | |
      G1------G2
      The coordinate system is created by taking angle G3G1G2 (beta) and G4G2G1(gamma) .
      The angle between G3centerG2 is beta+gamma
      To get x direction the angle between G3centerXvector is beta+gamma/2, afterwards rotate this x vector to 90 deg wrto normal vector of element.
      You get y vector.
      This the element coordinate system. By default material coordinate and element coordinate is same, if there is need we can change by specifying another coordinate system, rotate x direction by certain angle and so on
