What or who is iu mien .? The word iumien was from the ancestor 'word ongyao . Or It was simply called Yao but in the modern world peoples prefer to call iumien instead of yao.
We are Mien people that migrated from China and settled in Laos. Laos and Thai people called as as Yao. Yao is referred to Tall and Skinny mountain people as racism term. We called ourselves Mien and Mien is the language and the culture as well.
