    Superb works, and a pleasure to do a real collab with you! Very happy to give as many corrections and accurate bits of knowledge as possible! The script editings and recordings were all worth it for any interested ones to learn about the legacy of these three fleets. The R44s and R46s are indeed one hell of a crazy yet fascinating history! I hope you all enjoy it, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask here! Regarding my channel, it is not intended to grow at all; I'll have a few videos here and there to preserve my recording moments since I have a quiet lifestyle. Enjoy our complex works, have a safe day, and happy learning!

    The R46 is the GOAT. It’s big and sleek. It has the best sounding propulsion and aesthetically pleasing orange seats. I’ll be so sad when they’re retired.

      @@landocalrisian2014the R44 and R46 trains are okay to me ,although the older ones with the brown floors and yellow lights those are the ones I hate but the so called refurbished r46 trains which have the normal modern train floors and white lights are quite okay to me ,my favourite train is the R211T because they have smarter technology and open gangways

    The R211 is a new technology train (NTT) New York City Subway car being built by Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing for the B Division and the Staten Island Railway (SIR). They will replace two aging subway car models: all R44 cars on the Staten Island Railway and all R46 subway cars. The order is split into three parts: R211A and R211T cars for the subway and R211S cars for the SIR. The R211Ts employ open gangways between cars, allowing passengers to see and walk through the entire length of the train - a feature not present on the subway’s other rolling stock. The base order consists of 535 cars, with options for up to 1,077 additional cars.

    Thank you for a very well done video. R46s definitely killed Pullman; though MKCO did a great job on the rehab- 30 years ago! Point noted about reliability, constant alerts for door problems and breakdowns. Lots of square wheels on the B R68s.....looking forward to the R211s when they arrive in 2040🥱 (I'll be 78 then...)

    • @christopherstory2136
      @christopherstory2136 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRailLeaguerI'm looking at it this way; the R211 is an evolutionary product closely related to the R160 and knowledge gained from 20×year NTT experience and proven CBTC tech employed on the F. No surprises here as to whether the train fits in a tunnel or stuff like that since the physical plant of the subway has not changed. As far as "upgrades" - specs are clearly stared in the RFP and contracts and Kawasaki's experience here meand there should be no surprises as far as propulsion, dimensions, weights, signaling, performance etc. The new technology duch as displays and wider doors fit examples are also incremental, not "new". Other than burn in and structural examibation, eamxamibation shouldn't take this long.

    • @TheRailLeaguer
      @TheRailLeaguer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christopherstory2136 Really, because the technology is different with each subway car order? In fact, every subway car order takes 8 months to a year to test out and they are allowed to make upgrades as well.
      Why are you complaining about the length of time it takes for cars to enter service, when literally every subway car order always takes at least 8 months to enter service?

    • @jassy_235
      @jassy_235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my knowledge, they’re not operational especially with the worsening structural issues mentioned here building up over time since 2010. Even if these are operational, the structural issues build up since their retirement would risk serious damage to these four cars. They are used as storage units in CIY.
