Ranking not high enough, No sponsorship from US sports organizations to travel. Most likely professional badminton is not a full time commitment for a lot of US pro players unless they are the very top like Zhang Beiwen, who doesn't even travel with a coach most likely because of money.
Most of them are coaches from gyms in America who have long retired and are playing these tournaments for the gym or for fun.
The sponsorship goes to NFL, NBA, and other american sports. Apparently, badminton is still not popular in the USA.
