I had a Crematogaster ashmeadi colony which was in the thousands. They were doing very good, but definitely were escape artists. That colony suffered a mite infestation which lowered their numbers from several thousand to about 50. I’ve never dealt with mites before, so this caught me off guard. I tried my best to do what I can but eventually all the workers had died. The queen somehow survived with no mites, so I put her in another test tube hoping to get the colony started back up again, but she recently passed away as well. They were my most successful colony.

I think you should make an update on your old carpenter ant colonies

You should make a video about how to prepare your ant farm before you go on vacation

Great to see them settling in to the new nest. I also had issues of accidentally crushing my ants before I got fluon. Anyway, good luck!

These are such a cute ant! I think them easily escaping would drive me bonkers though =)

5:30 the pipe is facing the wrong way. that would bother me so much. i'd turn it so they dont have to walk a bow around it to get inside
