I never had the opportunity to see the band live and this is as close as I’ll ever get. Thanks so much for sharing the recording with us - it’s such a privilege to see and hear them from this period. The sound is superb 👍
I can say the same here! What a treasure! This first incarnation of the band was one of the best things I've met in my whole life with music at all!
Paradise, near the end, make me fall in tears!
I was bunking in over the fence through the Green Field after riding 200 odd miles to get there after finishing work at 1400hrs, I hid my motorcycle in a field under some skrim net and as I walked down the hill I started to hear Julianne singing, her voice was amazing lilting across the meadow, a very etheral experience. I couldn't find my mates who had come down on the Thursday, but I had to work so couldn't leave until the Friday afternoon. I ended up sleeping under a tree, only to be woken by some chap about to take a leak, and scaring the crap out of him as I shouted Oi! at him. A fantastic weekend, got sunburnt, so the ride home on the Monday was a tad uncomfortable with my lid rubbing my burnt forehead!

Awesome! This might have been the show they released on CD. I had a copy but then it skipped, I was heartbroken! Saw them at the UEA in Norwich on this tour.
I was at this gig. It was my first Glastonbury and All About Eve were the first band I saw. Brilliant, thank you for posting.

Thank you so much for posting this, I must have been standing about five yards to your right. This was my last visit to Glastonbury, and I went specifically to see All About Eve but Suzanne Vega was brilliant, as were the Waterboys. Still have the programme somewhere, and a repro poster of the "Glastonbury CND Festival". IIRC it was about £30 for weekend camping.
@talen67 Those were the days! How did they fly by so quickly, and why didn't we appreciate them more at the time? Oh to go back to that year with all we know now (2022) !

Hey Travis, your audio may even be better than the CD. I was there, and I think standing near you for a lot of this. I recorded it on tape also when BBC radio 1 broadcast it, listened to it many times and I'm sure it got me through my GCSEs. I finally bought the CD a few years ago - hard to find, a bit expensive now. But your audio is great and brings me back to the time, the place. (Rest in peace Elliott, house + All About Eve fan like me and RiP his lovely wife also.) Thanks for this, getting me through a very bad migraine day too. Good wishes.

This song is great just saw this on TH-cam blew me away . Well I was there not far from you . God it was hot but beatifull you can't tell here on this vid but the suns going down beautiful day and great memories I was 16 then .

Thanks so much for the upload, I would have loved to been there, but I was in college and wasn't allowed to go to UK festivals until a year later! I had such a crush on Julianne, but even though I was a Goth then; most of us didn't consider them as Gothic, its a label the media put on them. Are you British then Travis?

Any guitarists out there know what amps Tim is playing through here ? Would love to know the signal path he recorded 'December' with ...amps / guitars etc.

The Tele was probably a Squier, Boss pedals - Digital Delay, Overdrive (not sure which) and JC 120 amp. I would say that the solo on December is a Les Paul. Amazingly gifted guitarist. Hope this helps
@@ultracloudtemple5041 Many thanks for that. I was thinking Les Paul too for that album track.
The guitar is obviously a Tele of some sorts, the amp in the background looks very much like a Roland Jazz chorus and i`d guess the distortion is a Boss DS-1, a very responsive pedal. I had a really old Japanese built one for years and the it was the best distortion pedal i ever had. I just hope my friend still has it in his attic. The chorus could be the onboard chorus from the amp, its very rich and quite unique, the delay i would suspect is whatever Boss delay was available in those days. I couldn`t afford any of those delays back then so i cant help on that one!
Judging from the angle, I think I wasn't very far from the person with the camera during this.
