The GFX system is a fantastic system. As a Fuji user, I understand that the system is not designed for the ultra high speed small birds of sports market but the IQ, the quality of equipment, the service and innovation working in two sensor spaces that offer complete different values than the traditional FF space. in mirrorless most of the big brands regard APS-C as as "non professional" product, however, for the Fuji user, the IQ, the delivery and the way of work is very capable and professional. The internet is rife with AF complaints, however, the real users find the AF system more than capable. My aspiration was for the 500 f5.6 XF lens but watching this video, I am seriously considering the GFX system for wildlife. The 500 f5.6 on the GFX sensor offers the ideal focul length. Fantastic images and photography
That's great insight and we agree. Ultimately, for us, image quality is paramount. Even if the AF and burst rate does not match the latest FF sports camera (which we also have), it is more than sufficient for extraordinary captures of wildlife in motion, and pretty much every other application. There are no bad cameras out there, well, not really. We can say that using this camera system professionally has our clients in awe, and we derive so much pleasure from it, that we still shoot hard on vacation (when we're supposed to put the cameras down). We'll be taking to GFX100II and GF500 F5.6 to Africa for a month in 2025. That'll be a blast!!
The photos and video are stunning. The video image quality rivals work, I've seen from much larger and more expensive setups. It shows what's possible with amazing photographers using top notch tools.
Thank you for the kind comments! I think the quality of the GFX100II video, recorded in higher 10bit ProRes 422HQ in F-Log is outstanding. We edit and grade in DaVinci Resolve, and the integrity of file is wonderful (plus everything looks incredible in 60frames). Thanks again.
That's a good question! There are a few factors to consider. With the GFX100II large sensor, and it's capacity for clean shots at higher ISO, we found F4 to be perfectly fine. Have you shot with the GFX100II before? The 16bit Fujifilm RAW files are very different to traditional 14bit RAW files from a full-frame camera. They are very clean, with masses of data in the shadows. Like every photographer, we'd love F/2.8 or F/2, but consider the physics and massive glass elements this would require.
Thanks!! It sometimes feels crazy how much effort and work it can be to get a photograph! But, when it’s a challenge, it feels so much sweeter when the shot works out! Don’t you think?
I also take landscape photos but I couldn't go beyond what you do. It's because of you guys we get to see these pictures, a story, and a moment captured we may never see in person.
I have been searching this Los reviews on TH-cam and she is the only one knows how to hand held this lens. I was thinking that ring is not able to rotate at all and makes me wonder. But I found out I am ready to order one today after I saw this video. Thank you so much for your review 🤕
Thank you! The ring does rotate and the foot has a new quick detach button too. This is all new for GF lenses. You can see in the video that we used a CPL without the in the some of the shots. Amazing lens.
Thanks!! That’s right - about 400mm, but with 102MP, the digital zoom/cropping capacity adds some great flexibility. We used the 1.4teleconverter too which is pretty awesome for birds. We found the bokeh (even though it’s f/5.6) to be really stunning. Even at moderate distance where we would have been ok with the GF250, to fill a frame with the subject and have 16bit colour and massive shadow detail with razor fine DOF - it was very satisfying.

The shots are really stunning!!!
Thanks!! The full image links will be live in 24hrs - you can then get a really good sense of how this camera performs. Happy shooting.
Stunning images. TFS❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!! This adventure provided amazing opportunities for shots. The hardest part is selecting which images to include in the final image set!
What about early morning shots in low light without aperture dropping to f2.8

It's incredible, I was wondering which camera were you guys using with the GF500 ? Great work!
Thanks!! All images and much of the video shot on GFX100II. It’s a spectacular camera.
All of these just for a picture. Amazing!

Thank you! I hope we offered a little inspiration and made you feel like taking photos. You never know where a passion or hobby could take you!

Amazing!
Thank you!
brilliant :)
Thank you!!
Amazing shots, full frame equivalent of about 400mm F/4, not bad at all and that on a MF camera

Wow - great pick up!!! Thank you. Reasonable photographer, crap spellchecker 😂
@dja72 looks like they corrected it now.
@@3DEditor yes - I just did. Thank you.
