Duda is the guy that knows the answers but is too shy too speak in class, Giri is the guy that knows the answers and is always looking for teacher's attention, and Magnus is the guy that overthinks the question and ends up with the right answer for another question.
Wow 👌
So spot on lmao😂

This was wholesome, funny, and entertaining, basically, I want more Chess GM classroom, please!!
yeah
Agreed!
I was about to say the same. This quiz video was much better than all the others they ever did!
This content is kinda cringe, imo. But they can definitely make it better :)

@Spoiled Nut
You sir, are a genius
Magnus is kind of that kid who argues with the teacher and makes the class entertaining
As a elementary school teacher I thought the same. Magnus is that talented student who you are kind of annoyed as a teacher, but somedays you just love that kid.
@@Superluhis IG it's annoying because he actually challenges you. Imagine spending years mastering your craft to become a teacher and then the kid you're supposed to be teaching just outsmarts you
@@JimmyBoosterCrate but isn't that the job of the teacher?
@@JimmyBoosterCrate which means I would appreciate that kid ,if I were a teacher,,good thought Jimmy
I like how carlsen goes on exposing David with his history lesson on that bad question lol
I guess the question should have said that the currency is still used today
The question was bullshit without specification but the Magnus answer is just an old myth anyway. Salt was never used as a curency, you can get it for free just evaporating seawater. It makes no sense. It was rationed to legionarries for cooking but they got paid in silver sestertius.
@@PawelTheShrubber you are wrong, salt was used as a currency. The term salary derives from the Latin, as in ancient Rome soldiers were often paid, as a supplement to their pay, a ration of salt.
@@PawelTheShrubber you're not worth your salt
@@marcoghiotto4725 As I said, it is a myth., you can look it up. You just said it anyway. Maybe you dont know exactly what "currency" is, but you cant get paid with a ration, its an oxymoron. "Ration" is something you get given to you.
Magnus is the student that gets kicked out of the class for being more logical than the teacher
Oh bhai 🤣🤣 I felt it to the core
but getting most things wrong
That was pretty fucking funny. The Anish stood up and did the spelling bee thing and Magnus acting a Jock.
Duda has the most correct answers, just he was very quite and was not talking like giri and magnus..😂
Man is 22 and isn't very confident with English. 5 years by now, let's expect him to be a goofball too 😂
@diztiinct tbh yeah lol
Here we have the 3 smartest kid in class.
Magnus is the proudly smart one, Anish is the energeticly smart one, and Duda is the calmly smart one.
Duda is the only one that looks like an actual "smart kid". They're always introverted/awkward, these gifted kids. It's like there's not enough room in a brain to fit exceptional intelligence AND social skills.
@@JimmyBoosterCrate
Nah they can have it all , they're brain would contain it. This is just cope for dumb people like us.
@@JimmyBoosterCrateBit of an oversimplification, don’t you think?
And only Magnus is the one who attracts the hottest girls
on 4 minutes you can see how Magnus is so competitive lmao, he went 100% in to explain his POV on the "WorldChampion" question. And Giri, as always, givin the dad vibes
yes, but technically he is right, because nobody stays world-champion,and so if Kasparow beats Karpov in WCC he beats the old World-Champion(even some years ago) to become new(and old)WC. But of course it´s an easy answer if u don´t think about the possibilty of a tricky question.
@@rainerwahnsinn9585 i know it, honestly MAYBE i would consider this, but I'm just not competitive enough to fully explain my point if i was in his situatiom, when there is nothing on the line, is just a casual game, Dave says I'm wrong, i would just be like "aight, next question then". But is not the case for some people like Magnus haha i Guess this is what it takes to be number 1 in something
@@rainerwahnsinn9585 even if we accept that interpretation, he's got the wrong answer because he didn't name Anand and himself, who are also consecutive world champions

And this is why Magnus exacted his revenge on Giri with that Queen sac in the opening.

but that's also the reason why anish got mad and queen sac on that one gm i dont remember the name
I was surprised that they (all) didn't know right off the bat how many points each side had!
Why would they? That is an arbitraty set of values that means NOTHING in a game.
This is so great to see them all as mates off the chessboard, so wholesome. I was smiling the whole time.
@Neal J. They worked their a$$es off for that and still are doing. Deservedly.
Magnus is totally right about the currency question. If you were looking for the answer "British Pound", the question should have been "what's the oldest currency that is still in use". The oldest currency IS salt.
No. he's not correct. Salt is a commodity. Currency arose to replace the bartering system (goods for goods) aka., commodity for commodity or derivatives of commodity. Currency is a "thing" that represents value and serves no other purpose. Salt can be put in food or consumed. Oil can be burned to light a candle. You can use commodities to trade, but it would just be bartering. Adam Smith, who wrote "Wealth of Nations" (1776) explains currency is the representation of labor. That's why it has value. Because instead of you farming and growing an apple, you're paying someone else to grow the apple for you so you can eat it. So currency represents purely labor and nothing else. Does salt have value? Yes. Can it be traded? Yes. Is salt "currency"? No, because when used to trade, it represents more than just labor.
@Steve Nguyen is the oldest currency silver and gold?
I believe the Mesopotamians used shekels, which to my belief should be the first minted currency. Correct me if I'm wrong, you seem to have a peculiar expertise in this.
@@HerrscherOfTouchSomeGrassFoo I believe that in ancient China they used conch shells as currencies. I'm not sure its the oldest one, but definitely one of the oldest.
@@eggheadreportThen the oldest currency is punch marked coins, not British pound
@@kartikeyatiwari2502 @dhendup4042
It's going to be some form of precious metal formed into something where they can associate value to it. "Oh you have more of this precious metal in this chunk, versus this chunk, ergo it must be more valuable"
I think the oldest currency still in use is pound, but not the oldest for sure
@@tiagomoraes1510 2 sentences?
I guess it's nishka. Apparently their history starts from Europe. There were ancient civilisations where currency was used.
@@mehardahiya986 yeah I thought it was nishka too
It literally said that in the vid.
@@mehardahiya986 I think it was trade not actual currency. Took a long time to convince people bits of round metal where worth anything close to food.

Magnus is like the kid who always makes the objection to every single question.
Anish is like the "genius" kid who always answers the questions right.
Duda is like the quiet kid in school who seldomly speaks.

You can see Magnus hates losing
Magnus so fixated on saying the 'a' that he forgot he ended with a 'y'.
It looks like Anish is more of a versatile person in real life.
He for sure is, just by the amount of languages he speaks fluently.
@@aleks-wy6uf He's well versed in Klingon and has a PhD in Dothraki Language Studies as well
@@solidandshade just so you know, the number of countries with 4 letters change depending in language.
In my native language, we have: 12. But those 12 are not the same as English speakers have. We have China as a 4 letter country and Chad as a 5 letter country.
So if you know your languages in your native language, it can be hard to check everyone for another language.
Magnus is always good with Geography

the interpretatino difference is "without ever" and with out.
I think using formal logic, I think Magnus is wrong... but they could have added clarity by adding the phrase without EVER having beaten a previous world champion to gain the title
Magnus - I cant write properly but can I read it out instead
*magnus proceeds to read wrong*
Magnus- I wrote it correct , I cant speak properly doesn't mean im wrong
Salt is correct! That is how the pound was established.
Salt is not a currency.
@@alanwhite3154 What is a currency? Whatever we agree on having some fixed value for trading.
@@denominator208 The Mesopotamian shekel emerged nearly 5,000 years ago. Is that before the Roman empire for you?
@@alanwhite3154 I did not say anything about that. I was just referring to your statement that "salt is not a currency". A currency is whatever we can agree on as having a certain value. Nice strawman though! A dubious deflection tactic that does not work.

the determination on anish to win at least the quiz against magnus is crazy
This is brilliant, do more rounds!
Of all the questions, I'm surprised Magnus didn't immediately know the knight question; that puzzle seemed right up his alley.

Love how competitive anish is
"Oldest currency" question was misleading, they didn't specify "currently in use"

I love how it ends like a good movie.
“32?” - Magnum Karlson (Chess fan)
They asked for the oldest currency but their answer was for the oldest currency still around. Magnus is thus more correct than the quizzer.
yes this was inaccurate, but still, currency implies a symbolic representation of goods. salt itself, however it was widely used as an exchange commodity (like Carlsen says), isn't and wasn't a currency. receipts - for specified amounts of salt - would be.
today you can still use eg. gold in a similar manner, but gold itself isn't currency nevertheless.
He literally doesn't care much about the one who is going to play against himself this November
