- Join me as I explore southern Norway in search of Golden Eagles and the Northern Goshawk, with a few bonus species thrown in for good measure, including the Red Squirrel!
🦅 I travel to southern Norway, to visit Norwegian wildlife photographer Leiv Arne Åkset at his purpose built photography hides near Marnardal.
📷 With the incredible Sony A1 in my hand, paired with the FE 200-600 G lens, I am able to capture some once in a lifetime footage and images.
🇳🇴 Norway is a stunningly beautiful country, wild spectacular fjords, mountains and vast pine forests, and provides the perfect habitat for these elusive but magnificent raptors.
I hope you enjoy,
Adam

Thanks so much mate. Pleasure to have you 👍🏻
Wonderful video and highly recommended trip. Great Job Adam 👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😊
Beautifully put together Adam with some amazing footage, B-Roll and music. Although I don't do baited birds of prey and mammal hides, it was still a lovely video, so great work. R👍
I really appreciate your comments Richard, and completely respect your focus away from baited hides. It’s always a divisive subject and there are pros and cons to everything, but it’s refreshing to have someone speak kindly of the film despite their own views and says a lot about the man. Grateful and with much respect, A.
Amazingly beautiful location and stunning wildlife! Thank you for sharing your adventure!

Awesome! There’s something even more mysterious about raptors in a winter setting like that :)

Thank you for sharing your wildlife photography journey with us. It's so wonderful !!
Thank you so much
almost seems like the first golden eagle was baited in
Yes Ian, it’s a baited hide, as 99% are.
well I appreciate the honesty, even if the practice is very unethical in the wild. would have been nice if you were more transparent about in the video! @@adamjuckesphoto
They bait Goshawk a bird ? Isn’t it unethical ?
It’s a divisive and subjective subject but there is also very little evidence to suggest that it is unethical. It’s almost impossible for anyone, including the BBC to photograph species such as Goshawk without baiting.
I am amazed that everyone seems to enjoy this video. These are wild animals and, as such, should not be fed. Taking the plane for a weekend for feeding eagles. What a shame really.
I’m sorry you feel like this. Out of interest, do you feed the birds in your garden?
@adamjuckesphoto there is no possible comparison between feeding non-wild birds (which, by the way, struggle to feed themselves due to our agricultural practices), and feeding wild predators, who will get dependent on you feeding them. This is not an ok practice.
