Every now and then a visionary artist comes along; one who turns the whole art world on its head. Hailing from Switzerland, contemporary glass master artist, Simon Berger, creates 3-d portraits using a hammer to smash, lacerate and crack laminated safety glass. Inventor of this technique, the art form plays with light and transparency, which Simon calls Morphogenesis. He creates beautiful things from destruction, but light emerges from the destruction. He creates disorder in the realm of light and, in order to make the portraits really 'pop', he creates dimension through light and dark, thus creating depth and perception. This is Aurum Gallery's first solo exhibition and what and incredible artist they have chosen. I predict that this artist will be huge, certainly in terms of his influence to future 'glass shatterers'. For me, this work borders on genius - nobody has produced this type of work before, To find out how he does it, watch until the end... Aurum Gallery and location: Aurum Gallery is a 'contemporary, urban and street art' gallery conceived, curated and co-owned by Clifford Price (Goldie) MBE; a music producer, record label owner, artist, DJ, actor and original yogangster hailing from the UK. www.google.com/maps/place/Aur... For further information on the artist, Google his name; there, you can find more of his fantastic work.
It truly is a breathtaking new concept that Simon has produced here. The precision and delicacy, that contrast the general concept of having to smash the glass, present here is insane! Would love to check it out as I’m sure, as brilliantly as you’ve captured it here, it would be a sight to behold.
Yeah, me too Dave. The scene is growing at a decent pace - there are a few galleries popping up all over town. Just in this building, Warehouse 30, there were two other shows going on. You could easily spend 2 or 3 days lazily wandering round some galleries and, with coffee culture growing too, there is usually a decent coffee shop very near by.
Wow stunning artwork . I dont know who my sons inspiration was initially when he started this type of glass art. I hope he can have his own exhibition one day. Would love to send you one of his artworks of a very famous South African actress if permitted.
I'm not sure, but I know there was something on late last year (not sure if it is still on)... atxtoday.6amcity.com/culture/broken-glass-beautiful-new-west-chelsea-contemporary-exhibit It's a gallery in Chelsea... hope this helps 🙏

Wow
who wrote the script?
Me.. I did the usual; 30 mins research, borrow some of the better prose and do a few voice overs on my phone
I wrote the poetry in case you were wondering 😀
Do you sell?
I don't but Aurum Gallery do Mike 🙏✌
I hate being late cause I know today's price is not yesterday's price
I haven't followed this artist since I went to see him. I hope the value of his art is rising as he is very talented 🙏
Why that clown wearing a mask?
That 'clown' is my son. This is Thailand - it was expected in public back then. Watch your mouth Moses!!!!!!
