Oh ok now it makes sense Tom trensey47 14; you were the guy getting on me the other day for being negative. Well, I’m a realist and I know dolphin history probably better than anybody in the comments. I’m not a Johnny come lately I’ve seen it all so I’m gonna be a fair grader I’m not gonna have pom-poms and just because it’s the current squad. I have to embrace everything that a dysfunctional organization does.
I am no longer a dolphin fan. I have put the emotion aside and become an analyst due to their decades of mismanagement but the reason I was a dolphin fan is because of the early 70s success as winning influences kids. Shula had integrity and the team was managed with morals now they’re always getting into trouble for one thing or another and they still cannot win so I cannot support a franchise that has no idea what they’re doing on the football field or off the field and bend the rules to try to get an advantage, but still messes that up as well. It’s embarrassing, Chris Griers work…
Louis Oliver is the reason I became a football fan. The first game I started paying attention to was the one vs Buffalo where Louis Oliver had 3 INTs 2 of them being Pick 6s. OJ was a rookie when I got season tickets and I will never forget his TD returns. He was amazing
@@PG-io3de that's the day he had three of them I believe. One the last one, the commentator jokes that he was so gassed from returning the first two for a TD that he was begging for a Buffalo defender to tackle him... lol
I’d love to see McDaniel being in another qb even if it’s a first round pick. I like the development he shown with Tua but would also be nice to see him bring in a talented qb to compete with Tua and push him to the next level
I like the history lessons. I’m a younger fan so I enjoy hearing about some of these guys I don’t remember. If anyone doesn’t like them they can just skip ahead.
As a fan of this team for 50+ years, add me to those that prefers keeping the history lessons. Think I've watched every episode and I love revisiting some of the past players and Dolphin teams. Keep up the great work.
The numbers theme: Delvin Williams 24 Tim Foley & Louie Oliver 25 Kadish became a nemesis on the D line for the bills and was outspoken against the dolphins, proclaiming buffalo players have character where as Miami’s are characters. I thought that was an excellent statement, and very true to this day for the most part.
I loved Oronde Gadsden. He was another brilliant acquisition from the master mind Jimmy Johnson, of whom snatched him up from the Canadian league. I believe he was slow as a sloth, but didn’t matter. He had a wingspan and lacrosse equipment for arms and hands. We never get anything like that under chris Greer.
I enjoy the history lessons..perfect idea having the draft position number coincide with the episode number..Even like the round not mattering as we’ll 😊
7:36 Thank you Omar. I was watching Penix this year and had the same thought. Looks like Tua. Decent Arm. Accurate. Anticipation. Not a fantastic runner or a physical beast. Pocket Passer. Not against it except we already have Tua. If not going to switch it up then stay the course and use that 1st round pick elsewhere.
Good content like always. Dolphins are so frustrating not adding QB competition. Do you think Mike McDaniel will have a different philosophy? I was revisiting the 1998 draft and we had two selections right before Hines Ward and we also drafted a QB out of Nevada right before Matt Hasselbeck in the 6th round.
I remember that an analyst on ESPN gave the Dolphins grief for drafting Marino in '83 right after Rozelle announced Marino's name at the podium. The analyst was surprised with the pick, especially after the Dolphins reached the Superbowl.
History sessions are fantastic. Didn't the cap go up by 25 million that was unexpected? Saw a blurb today to that effect but haven't seen it confirmed.
Guys is it just me and I’m imagining this or is Tua similar to J Fiedler in that they both were able to play well and win vs the weaker teams but couldn’t beat the better ones??
They use to get Washington's birthday and Lincoln's birthday off. The wanted to give everyone Martin Luther kinds day, so the combined the two birthdays and called it presidents day.
Keep the history lesson! If the number falls under a most current player do a quick overview/ opinion about that player For example episode 226 would be salvon ahmed
If you guys are going to continue doing this history thing (ugh) can you at least say at the beginning of the video what time to fast forward to when the actual video starts with current discussions. This would be nice!! Love you guys
Miami has other needs and doesn’t have to spend an early draft pick on a QB. There are options who aren’t sure splashes or necessarily threats to Tuas starting spot but are low risk high reward. Tanner Mordecai, Brennan Armstrong, Devin Leary, HBCU QBs Jeremy Moussa & Davius Richard. Best case scenario you find a gem and a QB to develop under McD’s coaching, worse case scenario they’re trade bait or your backup QB.
Ive been saying since Marino's last few years we should be drafting a QB every year and our team just never does. its what Chris Grier 'grew up on" so i doubt he will start now.
President's day is fairly new. We used to celebrate Lincoln's bday and Washington's bday seperately in Feb and both were Federal holidays. The businesses and schools started crying about the two days off and they were compined into one day.
I like Tua and think we should give him the big contract. But with that, you should be drafting QBs almost every year. Clearly our backups aren’t lighting the world on fire, get someone else and move on while keep that players cap number down.
We definitely need to bring someone in to compete with tua! Has to be done ! Mike White is going to be out soon, and the dolphins need someone to compete at the qb position
so many team needs and we going to draft a guy who couldn't get on the field . 5th round max but definitely not first two rounds . Spencer ratler or Joe Milton.
MPJ reminds you of Tua?!? How? Pennix has 10x the arm. 10x the pocket presence. 5x the mobility. He’s 6” taller. Can post snap read. Other than the fact Pennix got injured early in his career theres no similarities.
Green Bay shows teams how they should handle QBs…. Even after the 3.. Favre, Rodgers and Love… they traded Hasselbeck? and Matt Flynn. They’re always farming QBs.
Guys. You talk about Miami saving $3 million by cutting Crossen. What is the net savings? He has to be replaced by someone on the roster and if that player makes 900k the net savings by cutting Crossen is $2.1 million. For me, when you look at how Miami can trim payroll I always look at net savings. Am I wrong with how much they potentially save by cutting Crossen? Same with Mike White. I look at the net savings if he is cut and replaced by a draft pick.
Presidents’ Day used to be Washington’s Birthday. Being the first President and a General in the liberating Army wasn’t good enough to have his own holiday.
Keep giving us those history lessons! We love to hear about the players that we never got to watch.

We should draft one every year. Competition is needed and we never had one
Don't know if every year cause we need depth in other positions. And NFL is all about Depth, but one every 3 years would be cool
I agree, just not necessarily in the 1st round. We have more needs.
@@fariasdelvillarcarlosyarom6549Wrong. NFL is all about QB.
I've heard Michael Penix Jr draft pick from several sources but I agree with Omar (if he's right)
we don't need another Tua
Keep the historical stories coming
Dolphins drafted Marino the year after going to the Super Bowl with David Woodley
I'm a DOLPHINS nerd too ALAIN!
The numbers theme:
Delvin Williams 24
Tim Foley & Louie Oliver 25

Omar, tua was laying on the field having a seizure and went to the emergency room. Wouldn’t exactly call that a routine concussion.

Yes in the 5th round as a backup
Yep! Especially of penix or If Nix falls

Guys is it just me and I’m imagining this or is Tua similar to J Fiedler in that they both were able to play well and win vs the weaker teams but couldn’t beat the better ones??
Arm strength matters, and neither has strong 💪, so basically its above average, but not elite performances

Michael Penix and Tua are 2 different QBs Omar. Penix' arm is strong as hell.

History is good!
Tua’s happy feet when in the pocket longer than 2 seconds is because of the concussions.
They should draft line with first two picks this year. Graham Barton or JPJ with the 1st pick and Cooper Beebe at 55. Rebuild the interior o line
President's day is fairly new. We used to celebrate Lincoln's bday and Washington's bday seperately in Feb and both were Federal holidays. The businesses and schools started crying about the two days off and they were compined into one day.
Maybe another 5th or 6th round. Team is getting too expensive not to use earlier picks on dl and ol
Spencer Rattler should be a QB that the Dolphins should look into drafting on day 2.

If we go qb I think jj McCarthy from Michigan in the 2nd round if available.
Kadish was traded to the Bills prior to the 1973 season in exchange for offensive lineman Irv Goode.
That's why I always called him "One Handed Gadsden".
Shula came to the Dolphins acquired a staff drafted players and took the team to two superb owls will we ever have that that type of leadership again?

Draft a QB that's mobile because Grier can't put a O-Line together to save his life!
