As a fan of Durand Jones and the Indications, and many other groups, I personally do not appreciate when they step into the political world. I understand this song may mean something to some people, but not that much to me. Well to each his own.

I too believe artists and musicians should not be allowed a political opinion ;-)... Even if they are singing a song about solidarity, love and trying to improve the lived reality of their community. It just makes people such as yourself too uncomfortable to be allowed!

The Women's Rights movement in the 1970s also used this as their unity symbol. Finally the band has made political statements thru music before (damn, where have you been). The only one who is being segregated in thoughts and words is you.
