I'm 40 years old and started listening KMFDM, Front 242, Skinny Puppy, etc. at my 20's. But the recent 4-5 years nothing was getting excited me, maybe a little bit Rammstein, a bit Deathstars etc. I was thinking that it was because of my age, listening good and noisy music years passed away... Then, a couple of months ago I discovered these guys. Now I'm listening Combichist every day with the highest volume and headbanging like when I was 20 years younger. It's the music that I always wanted.
Im 52 (a bit younger than you now :) ), know CC since the first single Thanx to my buddies. His other baby Icon Of Coil you didn't like I presume, but Panzer AG surely you like. This gem above from the 2nd last album I got, "Today..." Still hopes were high until the Making Monsters album, that was already too much guitars. Nowadays CC is just an average hardrockmetalwhatnot mediocre BS. Andy could have been an electroindustrial legend. Nobody has done anything simmilar before he came, he was a true pioneer. But he's seen where the money was. And I can understand that.
These guys have (by far) the best live industrial show period!!!! Seen them here in Vancouver a couple of years ago and hope they return soon. They blow Skinny Puppy (who we have also seen many times) and any other industrial band away.
Love the taste of the new stage show. Very awesome thing of Andy and crew to pull off. The drums are indeed sick live. I saw them in Chicago, recently. I'd say this time around, Combichrist is stronger than ever. Keep it up guys.

This video rocks!! I hope they have their stand up drummer back permanently as the chick just didn't do it!!! Saw these guys live in Vancouver, Canada in 2007 and they put on the best show we have ever seen (even though they looked somewhat tamer) and we have seen a lot of shows. Unbelievable energy. Wish Metropolis would release a live DVD of these guys on tour.
Yeah these guys sound good on CD, but they are absolutely awesome live ! a must see, saw them as warmup before Rammstein in Denmark... they fucking blew me away !!
Many years ago I saw AHCh and it cannot compare to Combichrist. No vocalist, from industrial or metal band, has ever had so much evil energy within...it just tears you appart

I've always wondered with this type of music how much of it is is (and can actually be performed) live. Of course the sample triggering is done in real-time and the synths can also be done live, but the percussion parts sound very programmed to me.
it's a mix of programming and with overlays of live percussion. In fact it's probably more so the opposite of what you are thinking in that, they are playing along to a backtrack rather than sample triggering and only one or two synths are live. Practically speaking thats the best way to do it to keep a consistent sound.
I can't wait to see them in the Classic Grand in Glasgow! Scot's know how to party. It's a pity Surgyn aren't supporting... I'd of given my right hand to see them with Rammstein, you lucky fuckers!
