I am so unbelievably in awe of these guys. I listen to this performance almost every single day, and it breaks my heart knowing I'll probably never see them perform live.
same here!!! just about, at least...(think i started listening more like 2010 though, to be totally honest, lol...) Such an Incredibly Fantastic find!!!

Where is this band been all my life? I came across this by chance. AMAZING! My daughter walked on my and said, you really like this music mom? I tried to explain to her that you hear much music this day but there is litle art in music. So Beirut is pure ART!
Thats so true, most amazing concert I have ever been, there is no way to compare to any other it is so different, more like a piece of art than just a show!
Saw them on August 12th, 2009 in Cologne - I remember how I already knew every song so well, and the moment I listened to these songs live, it brought a tear to my eye! Beirut is a very special band that I will keep in my heart forever. Thank you, Nora, for being with me at that time and for seeing the beauty in this world. May you experience love and contentment wherever you are!
When you see this kind of bands and few views it's real happiness because the video has its own audience that went through filtration - no mainstream audience, no haters, no cliche comments; only people who are looking for something real. I love Beirut for being pure indie child of music.
they seem like a band that gets along so well yet at the same time they respect their leader and his vision .... and are therefore more able to accentuate his vision......
Oooh Dear God, you can see in his eyes how much he's enjoying it :3 this is the most beautiful thing I will see in months. And you still own us a show like this one, Zach! Greatings from Brazil!
The first time I listen to this band was in a random playlist. The song was Postcards from Italy, I was walking through Beirut Av. in Italy. They always take me back to that winter over there.
I was lucky enough to see them 5 times in NYC. Each time in a different location and honestly they were always unique but top notch at the Guggenheim guys!
Eu vivi uma grande paixão.. e essa banda é a cara de tudo o que nós vivemos naqueles momentos.. Jamais esquecerei..♥️🙏🏼 Aquele sítio era nosso santuário de amor! Obrigada Deus!
First saw them at the Greek Theater, Berkeley for the NoNo No tour....blown away! Love the brass! Just saw them again at Oakland's Fox theater. Great show. Very talented. Baroque Pop, Balkin, Sicilian Funeral, Folk and Electronica....freaking brilliant!! Love...love love these guys. Blows Chris Botti away
Few years back I worked in an art gallery/store and Beirut is literally my go to playlist during my shift. Up until now a couple of my ex colleagues still refer me as the one who always play Beirut for the visitors 😁 Really hope I can watch them live someday. One day ❤️
If I ever win the lottery I will try to hire them to play a big open air concert for free... provided I get a private showing of mt Wroclai. You have been my favorite band since 2006. Never stop please.
So pumped to see them in Atlanta in april. I nearly cried just watching them come onto the stage thinking about how emotional it's going to be when I see them for the first time live. That shit is going to make me bawl 100%
This version of gulag orkestar, always makes me cry!! This is epic! I am thankful to 'the force' which led me to get to know about beirut... Its been 2 years since i knew about beirut and still same songs make me cry.
@@ivyblue681 i have ended searching for new songs... On spotify i have a playlist of beirut and of other songs... Now i dont listen to anything new... Nothing is more satisfying anymore... If you'd like to recommend any band close to beirut, please let me know.
Wow! This vid is amazing! A great performance! I really love Beirut! I can't wait to see them live a second time! I'm stuck in this terrible lockdown for a year and a few months now and I can only hope concerts will be allowed/possible soon. I read some comments from people saying they know the band for ten years now, i only know it since 2015, but Beirut is one of my favourites since then. Who is here in 2021?
The best thing is 33:55 , every time when i return to this concert, I start it at this time and disconnect from the world, especially on nights or days when I need to be alone with myself.
Awesome live but the crowd is full of flat-liners! In Greece there would be (and has been) a crazy party with these guys! Much love to Beirut! I'm looking forward to the days we will be able to go to concerts again!
Literally my favorite band of all times! I love ‘em so much that I even named my cat after them 🐱 Hopefully one day I get to listen to them live. Greetings from Turkey!
I have two tickets for their London Apollo Concert tonight, 12th April 2019, but I'm not well enough to go. This video is no substitute for what I know I'd be watching and listening to in a couple of hours from now. I saw Beirut a few years back in Brixton with the fabulous support band Tune-Yards.
rip tide really breaks my heart not just because of its sad lyrics and sound but also because of the memories that I have when I hear it. so depressing, but one of my favourites.
I am so unbelievably in awe of these guys. I listen to this performance almost every single day, and it breaks my heart knowing I'll probably never see them perform live.
Why can’t you?
@@bernhardsartseems they just dont do live performances anymore
They had a live show in Febuary in Berlin!!!
@@levi-lukesmith3504 if thats the case then i have no idea what they meant, maybe the other commenter is dying
@@miragic Well it is the first live concert since 5 years or so. They are rarely live. So the first commenter is right, its rare to see them live
I listen to Beirut since 2007 and I can’t believe I just found this today. Such a fantastic recording.
It was fantastic, i never heard of this record, crying!
same here!!! just about, at least...(think i started listening more like 2010 though, to be totally honest, lol...)

You'll probably never see my comment, but you are SO spot on! Truly artistic and brilliant, they are!
In Mexico we love'em too....
Seeing Beirut in concert is absolutely amazing and I recommend it to anyone who loves them! :D
Thats so true, most amazing concert I have ever been, there is no way to compare to any other it is so different, more like a piece of art than just a show!
I've seen them 9 times and I still want more :)
I'm hoping I'll get to see them for the first time at Oaktopia in Denton, TX next weekend! Wish me luck. :P
OOOH I hope you do! They are playing on my Birthday but unfortunately I'm in California haha
Amen.
I come back to this concert and their Tiny Desk concert about two times a year. Massive nostalgia trip every time ❤️
Postcards and Elephant Gun always kill me. MAN they get right into the feelings. What an awesome show it must have been.
Seen them twice, once in Portland Maine, and once in Boston. Amazing shows indeed, I love Postcards was amazing in concert!
Beirut is literally the best band I have seen live in my entire life. I still have the set list from their concert posted on my wall
i love the drummer because he is so happy for no particular reason
Hey ~ he's drumming, that's reason enough. Even better, he's Beiruts drummer!
for a good reason
The drummer looks so into it, it's brilliant
i was just thinking that

postcards from italy gives me chills every single time i hear it
Me too, best song
This is one of these special tracks that feel like you always known them, even when you hear them the first time.

have you checked out the live show from 2011 Berlin, another GEM!
An appreciation comment for the man with the fantastic voice who harmonizes with Zach in all of the songs.
Amo tanto essa banda, acordo e durmo ouvindo-a. Um som que me move, tira da inquietude, me diz, corre vai viver...feliz 2022 para todos vocês

His voice, aura, music are really special for me, I cant stop listening this band since the beginning of 2020.
E pensar que conheci essa banda através da maravilhosa série chamada Capitu! Amo as canções, são mágicas
I hope to see them playing at some time of my life

Eu fui no show deles no festival NO AR COQUETEL MOLOTOV em 2009 em Recife-PE. Espero muito que venham novamente algum dia.

BEIRUT É UMA DAS MINHAS BANDAS FAVORITA. AMO
Espetáculo maravilhoso...
Esse é o show mais especial e singelo que existe. Brasil 2021
Adoro essa banda e essa música umas de minha preferidas
Melodia que leva, eleva e me faz leve. Pairando e sentindo (justamento pairando por sentir, na justa medida).
It made me happy when my childhood friend Jason Poranski was playing guitar
Beirut and Fleet Foxes they both whose make me fall in to Indie Folk music, found em early 2008. What a nostalgic, times fly so fast
I think thats their best performance of Gulag Orkestar
How much I love they are back!
Arrepio, nó na garganta, saudade, felicidade, uma tristezinha ao fundo... Prazer, meu nome é Elephant Gun.
Muhteşemsiniz! You are awesome!
I only missed the violin.
I love this Band! Makes me wonder, more than that, go beyond...
Please come to Brazil!
Otherworldly yet, amazingly earthy!
