    His footwork is top notch, to change speed requires good understanding of your own footwork. When a decade ago, footwork was used to only create space, now it’s used to deceive your pace to catch defenders off guard. For shorter players, Garland is a perfect example of a player who is unpredictabe and definitely takes advantage of his elite footwork.

    Plus on top of all this, he's an elite passer, so he can blend his shots with passes and create looks for teammates if you throw more attention at him.

    • @chrisisslick
      @chrisisslick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I'm saying. He didn't show any playmaking which is a very important part of his game.

    • @aforementionedshit
      @aforementionedshit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisisslick Yeah, part of what makes him so unpredictable is that you never know when he's gonna pass, dribble or shoot.
      That said, you could make a whole separate video about his passing. I remember when he came into the league and everybody was trashing him, but if you watched closely enough, you could see that he could already make all the passes you'd want from a lead ballhandler and then some. Like, not many guys can on Day 1 get to the hoop, look off the help into the corner and then make the diagonal pass to the wing. And he's only gotten better with disguising lobs as a floater, lefthand fastballs off the dribble, reading the defense before he even gets the ball so that he can touch pass to the open man, etc.

    His natural shot is actually two motion but its very quick still so it seems like he's just shooting in one motion. But when he's shooting off dribble combos and fading it's more one motion.

    • @aforementionedshit
      @aforementionedshit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think almost everybody has a two-motion shot on spot-ups -- catch + gather/dip. But I think it's actually unnatural for Garland. He got into a slump last year because he was taking a lot of two motion spot-ups, but then it looked like he started focusing on catching the already loaded with his knees bent and went on a tear. Garland also kind of has a two motion when he's pulling up at fullspeed, but basically only Steph shoots in one motion on that type of shot. On stepbacks, though, Garland is one-motion.

    “He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
    God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. The Key To Eternal Life:
