@@thomashewitt2713 Well I was only little back then, I was 4 years old when this episode of Wipeout was shown on BBC One. You know what young children are like, always getting scared of little things that are not scary....
I think this was because viewers were complaining about the text on the game board proving difficult to read. However, the real reason the text was difficult to read was due to the colour background being used on the game board and following complaints from viewers they changed the game board's colour background (along with the studio set) from series to series and in the earlier Bob Monkhouse fronted episodes, they used these screen closeups on some certain answers being revealed, the latter of which was dispensed with beginning with the 2000-2001 season.
in round 1 there are 11 correct answers and 5 wipeouts on the board each correct answer is worth £50 but pick a wipeout all your money will disappear the 3rd player who leaves empty handed will be leaving with a souvenir only 2 will go through to round 2 the wipeout auction there are 8 correct answers and 4 wipeouts whoever wins 2 grids will go through to play for our wipeout wings the other will also leave with a souvenir in the last round there are 4 categories there are 12 answers 6 are correct and 6 are wrong you see a number 6 on the top left hand corner and the minute to win it on the top right hand corner but of you run out of time you will also leave with a souvenir get all 6 correct and you win
The country is a poorer place without Bob Monkhouse to entertain us. He was simply brilliant.
Late reply but completely agree
RIP Bob Monkhouse
@@sampugh5674 the loving memory if him
Amazing that you were on there, Adrian. I loved Wipeout, (loved the jokes). Thanks for sharing this. :)
yes good old adrian
The screen closeup on an answer right or wrong used to scare me as a child...
don't worry sam i like the screen close up on an answer right or wrong 10:51 and 16:55 there's nothing to be scared of
so far it's 11 down 5 to go
