I like how they are picking up dead fish. We used to have salmon where I used to live. We could go out and catch our limit every day. Then a tribe got permission to gill net and complete decimated the fishing industy of the town. They would leave the gill nets out for months at a time. When they would bring the fish in you could smell the rotting fish carcasses from shore. Completly irresposnible and the fish have never came back. I bought some perch from a gill netter and asked why the fish were bloated he said because they drowned.
Hi nice video very helpful :) Could I get what size gill net squares you are using please I have a pond with trout in and I just want to catch the bigger ones like you were bringing in. How you measure ? corner to corner 6 or 7" or square size 2x2"
Hi and thank you. We get our nets from seattle Marine. They measure corner to corner top to bottom. We use 4 3/4” for the little fish and 5 1/16” for the bigger size

As it is callet that instrument with tip tha is used to remove the fish from the net l am from brazil.
It is called a pick, I would also suggest picking up a net needle for repairing the net

I know it's going to die anyway, but she needs some anger management!
So fish are slippery, she kicked the fish to propel it to the holding tank. Notice that she did not bruise the meet when she did it.

Pick is cheating! We don’t use them down here in bc
In alaska we man pull the gillnet into the skiff without the need of a roller. Its exhausting and all but worth the labor.
