- I had a few requests for this song and I've been meaning to do it, so here it is. Barracuda from March 18 1978 California Jam 2
Michael Derosier is a bad dude, very Bonham-esque, with a great sound and feel. He's playing some big Luddies with a tymp and gong! Obviously this song is very Achilles Last Stand inspired.

Man this version is smokin’! Derosier definitely had a Bonham influence as far as drum sizes, the Paistes, and the tuning! The feel is in the drummer, and you George, captured Michael’s feel all around! If I close my eyes, I feel like I’m listening to Bonham play with Heart!

Great cover George! Loved it! I know Heart were big Led Zeppelin fans and Michael Derozier definitely dug Bonham. Whenever I hear ‘Barracuda’ I hear the influence that ‘Achilles Last Stand’ had on this song with the “galloping” beat.
I also think of Love Alive as Heart's Stairway To Heaven, Babe Le Strange as a Kashmir. Michael Derozier had similar kits, even kettle drums in the early days live. Just honoring their heroes and trying to carry the flag. Zeppelin did this with their influences & heroes in the long standing music cycle. Taking them forward for the next generation to receive the baton. Fabulous George. More, more , more please 😄😄😄

@@BONHAMOLOGY wow small world!! When were you there.. don sold the place in like 2014 but is still around… such a cool place.. Michael shrieve from Santana taught there for a few years, Alan white lived in the area and dropped in
@@casimirok2760 I was there in December of 2014, he had just let the place to someone who worked there. He came to my show at Jazz Alley and then I went to his shop the next day and we hung out and he showed me around. I've also hung out with him at the Chicago drum show. Very nice guy.

Does anyone know what specific kit Mike played in the studio sessions for this song? Met him a few times in Bellevue Washington at a local drum shop. Super nice guy, I think he was teaching drum classes for awhile. Not sure what he's up to now. Badass cover George!

where do you count the extra beat in the vers?
I don't count really. I just know it by memory, but if I analyze it, I think of it as three bars of 4/4 and one bar of 5/4

Hi, I use a Focusrite interface 18i20 Scarlett, run into a Mac Book Pro. I use Garage Band, mix in Audacity. I should do a video sometime! I don't know much about Supralite's ...Bonzoleum would be better to ask. Thanks!
