Charlamagne: Cosby's Being Hanged by Society's Invisible Noose

  • www.vladtv.com - Charlamagne opened up to VladTV about his thoughts on Bill Cosby's rape charges, and the famed radio host says he won't judge the embattled actor and comedian. The Breakfast Club host adds that his stance stems from being wrongly accused of rape when he was twenty.
Charlamagne says that men are always guilty of rape until they prove themselves innocent, and believes that society is casting blame on Cosby without knowing the facts. He ends the segment by saying he doesn't rush to conclusions, and he won't "hang Bill Cosby in the court of public opinion."

My boy was accused of raping some chick 5 years ago and didn't have an alibi. Everyone was looking to convict him before any evidence was gathered and he didn't even do shit.
Long story short? Dude had to pretend to be gay and "came out of the closet" during an interrogation. The cops brought the news to the girl and she admitted she lied for attention.

thats fucking bullshit. i hate to be sexist sounding cuz im not, but its so painfully obvious that women get favoritism in court. I mean for real that story pisses me off that they can just lie yet if that dude didnt act gay he might have been fucked.

Also skipped the threatening phone calls made to his house.

I say that when a woman is found to have falsely accused someone of rape or physical abuse, she should get whatever sentence the guy would get.
That would make women a lot more hesitant in trying to pull that shit.
That could never happen though, feminists would go nuts, and they're vehement supporters of big government.

I'm white. I love Dr. Bill Cosby. When my aunt became engaged to a black man many years ago, my father told her that she was ruining his marriage to my mother just because her fiance was black. So there's some racism in my family. Yet we watched the Cosby Show every week for years, and Cosby was one of only two comedians my parents ever let us kids listen to (the other was Jerry Clower). My home life was pretty ok, but I always thought Cosby modeled the ideal family life, and I wanted my family to be more like the Huxtables: affectionate, communicative, respectful, comfortable, full of laughter and goodness. The Cosby Show's portrayal of a black family comprised of a doctor Dad, a lawyer Mom, and respectful college-student kids did more to improve my views about race than anything else in my life. And I'm sure that's true for many white Americans. We wouldn't have a black President today if not for Bill Cosby. No way. Far more than MLK or anyone else, Dr. Huxtable made it possible for the whites of my generation and the kids we raised to vote for a black President. Don't forget it people! So it hurts me to hear these accusations made against Cosby! I don't want to believe he's capable of serial rape! And I pray the accusations aren't true and that he somehow makes it through this! Of course, my heart goes out to the women if he's guilty, but I think that given all he's done for us, we should be giving Cosby the benefit of the doubt. I also think those women should be given the benefit of the doubt, so I'm confused, dammit. But I'm hoping and praying for Bill Cosby, and I get a lift every time someone cautiously puts a word in for him like Charlamagne just did. God bless.

The VLAD story underlines what I learned a decade ago whilst watching the "2pac & Biggie" DVD. People need to understand that IT IS FEDERAL AGENTS DUTY to cause unrest to Black figures who are considered to being extremely powerful... Biggie & 2pac between late 94 - late 96 held such status and there is no doubt in my mind MJ suffered the same fate.

Charlamagne's one smart cookie when he's not making obscene sexual jokes. This is the best, most coherent, well thought out defense of Cosby I've heard so far - its way more effective than Damon Wayans' "unfuckable" line or Don Lemon's "teeth" comment, or anything from Raven/Whoopi on The View. I have no idea what went down, but this makes about as much sense as anything I've heard so far

Cosby was not publicly vulgar at any time in his career.
He was, however, someone who stood up to both the black and white liberal establishment and said that it was the behavior of blacks -- their lack of assuming parental responsibility, promiscuous sexual conduct and anti-societal behavior -- that was responsible for the poverty and lack of success in their communities and NOT racist white people.
Cosby was one of the first black people I can remember who had the balls to express this point of view. It INFURIATED liberal whites and blacks who make their livings off of the myth of white racism as the cause of black failure.
And they never forgot. Cosby was shunned by a good deal of that community.
And that is one of the key reasons why I am suspicious that this entire incident is a political/ideological smear job at the hands of liberals.
Clarence Thomas, "There's a pubic hair on my coke can." anyone?
The only thing white liberals hate more than a successful black person who doesn't have to depend on the government is a successful black person who made it without the white racism excuse and tells the world about it.

They just recently let 7th Heaven back on the air. It shows you the racist double standard. A White man who is an admitted rapist has his show on re-runs while a Black man who has denied all allegations and has no evidence against him has his shows removed from TV.

I wrote earlier that Cosby did more to improve my views about race than anyone else, and that I think the same must be true for many white Americans. But there's something more I want to say that also bears on my sense of whether he's guilty-as-charged or not. It's this: the Cosby Show was also a powerful force for women's liberation. Phylicia Rashad, Cosby's TV wife, played an extremely powerful woman. One of the main themes of the show was the difficult balance between the powerful Dr. Huxtable and his even more powerful wife who loved him dearly but did NOT put up with BS. Back then I thought Ms. Rashad one of the most beautiful women on the planet both for her looks and for that incredibly powerful personality. But this was Bill Cosby's show! So Ms. Rashad played a powerful, intelligent, independent, take-no-BS woman in large part because COSBY wanted it--the same Cosby who is now widely thought to be a man with the very lowest of feelings toward women. Maybe this is why Ms. Rashad finds it easier to believe that Cosby is being set up than to believe he's a serial rapist. All the testimony against Cosby looks very bad, and I don't know whether he's guilty or not. What I do know is that what he's charged with is very badly out of sync with what I know of the heart of the man as it came through his art.
