Nepal's Worst Trekking Season Got Us SCARED

- We continue our trek from Jiri to Lukla with the goal of reaching Everest Base Camp (EBC) and the three passes. We pass through Shivalaya, Deurali and Kinja. The late monsoon season in Nepal is the worst trekking season this year, causing heavy rains and floods as well as dangerous landslides that got us scared on our adventure through the Himalayas.
This trekking series took place in September/October 2024.

Yay, I’m so happy y’all uploaded! I’ve been waiting for this video! Y’all have such great videos
This is the best trekking season in Nepal. Cool weather and no more rain hopefully!
“No phones in sight”…what a wonderful observation. Being disconnected and reconnecting with real living.
Great to watch the original path which i did 15yr ago. i hope this video will inspire many others to do real EBC trek.
Namaste as a greeting is fine at lower elevations, but after reaching Sherpa country you should switch to "tashi delek", meaning good luck and good health in Tibetan (Sherpa language is one of the over 40 Tibetan dialects).
one of my fav counties i ever visited could happily live up in those mountains so peaceful
I like Nepal mountain i watching their videos
Love this ❤
That's Mountain Madness and Mariju***. Hell Yeah.🤭🤭🤭
13 minute mark we call those 'puff balls'(common name) in the west...and i loved Olivias hopeful, "it doesn't get you high does it" haha

Welcome to Nepal and please carefully carry on your steps for trekking 🎉
What beautiful views, nature and the lovely little villages along your trek!! Thank you for sharing this. I’m a traveler too but I know I wouldn’t be able to do this type of climb. I’m living it through both of you.
Love you both doing extreme hiking no one exactually does that, beside very very few.
excellent video. Don't give up!! you can finish.
I’m also travelling ABC next season have a wonderful journey.
Welcome to Nepal brother
Good job.
From Jiri to Lukla? Why Lukla, it is a detour and a 200m extra climb from the trail to Namche.
Welcome in nepal ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ safe travel enjoy 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mario.. Olivia.. 👋👋 Hi. Great vlog. Hope you all ok. After finish hiking, going back.. are going to take the same route/road on your way back? You guys are legend ❤❤😊 I could never go hiking like that 😂😂
be careful, stay safe! 😄😄😄
have a fun guys :)))
October and November is best for trekking....after monsoon.
We believe this is the good season but earlier rain washed many stuffs.
In those jungle areas you should be careful and not have eachother too far
That's funny Mario.. is a me Mario 😅 i really thought u have to be evacuated
Yer life is so cool, I'm so jelly.
When did you guys travel?
Hows Kathmandu after the flood?
Im thinking to go this November.
Is it now good to travel? And explore the City of Kathmandu
The monsoon has pretty much ended. It ended late but it has ended. Not sure if the roads has been cleaned buy yeah it should be okay to travel now. It's dashain and tihar month. So many people would be returning to their villages. Considering how lakhs of people are leaving each day it's definitely okay.
HI GUYS LOVE THE PLACE THERE.... by the way MARIO looks like has similar face from the movie STORM WARNING the killer guy their was look like him hhahahaa please
watch the movie hehehehee
I hope you enjoy there
That structure with tablets are called mani walls, those tablet have “Om Mane Padme Hum” inscribed on them in Tibetan script, it’s the most important chant/mantra in Tibetan Buddhism. You’ll find the same mantra carved on huge boulders, prayer flags and prayer wheels. Inside the prayer wheels are flags with the mantra printed hundreds and thousands of times, and each time you spin the prayer wheel it has a multiplier effect, as is the belief. You might even find people (especially older people) softly chanting the mantra as they go about their day.
Always pass mani walls and prayer wheels from the left, then possible to touch /spin them with your right hand.
❤❤❤
Awful roads... Hiking in is the only way to go, I have walked in from Jiri 3 times (1985, 1998, 2000) once from Dhap (2018), twice out to Jiri/Shivalaya (1985, 2009). Great memories. Here is something we experienced in 2000 when in Jumbesi: Sir Edmund Hillary visiting the village: th-cam.com/video/oQregm9cD_k/w-d-xo.html
