The fact that Sherlock chose to die (the staged suicide), and also chose to live (after being shot) for Watson, speaks VOLUMES! Sherlock Holmes loves John Watson.

If you look at it this way, it really is heartbreaking. Sherlock had fallen in love with someone amazing, he never had been so deep in love. And it seemed as through he was loved back. But the worst happened, he had to die, or everyone that he had grown fond of, everyone that he had let himself care about, would be killed. But since he fell in love with John, this was the first time he cared if he kept living. He had to figure something out. Even through it hurt him, he had to pretend to die. He had to stay away from the one he was so hopelessly in love with, and when he came back, he was too late. John was taken by another person. John was getting married. Sherlock had to stand up there, and talk
About his best friend, then one who had loved him, and wish them well in their marriage.

I don't follow that particular ship, personally. I tend to see their relationship as one of deep friendship, rather than the romantic and sexual connotations which are implied the first Sherlock episode. Still...yeah. That is a damned powerful stort.

I think I am one of the few people who don't ship Johnlock (not in a romantic/sexual way), but their friendship is so beautiful and you really captured that with your song. I like it a lot!!

This song is perfect, it breaks me and puts me back together all over again.
Just so we're clear, I'm sobbing into my coffee right now. You have broken me into pieces. But I love it. it's amazing that you wrote a song about them. That is just too perfect. It doesn’t matter Sherlock and John’s love is platonic or romantic. They’re absolutely in love with each other. It’s so rare to find a person who spend their whole time for their friends, friends who are so devoted for each other and can do anything for each other. And it happened between Sherlock and John. Especially Sherlock, because he almost has no one else but John in his life while John has Mary, Rosie and friends. But Sherlock is all alone until John. This love is so beautiful and so devoted.

Saw this on Tumblr last night. I just bought the song. Lovely, lovely. Distinctive melody, lovely words, feeling voice, and this video just about broke me.

Fantastic song (slight pun intended)! I can so see this becoming a pop hit. & great recording too. Such quality from a home studio. Getting chills in the chorus & love the subtle intensity evoked by the escalating harmonies.

I just found this song in a Johnlock playlist and I didn't think it was written by someone for the ship, I Just thought the picture was there by accident. I already found it so very fitting. Can't believe how talented some Sherlock fans are.
This song is also so perfect for Elim Garak thinking of Dr. Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. A man so cloaked in secrets and lies, hardened and made cold from years as a spy and assassin only to be exiled from his Homeworld and begins taking solace in this young naive man just as something to do to entertain himself, only to find the Doctor's heart of gold and loyalty rubbing off on him and making him rethink his principles.

I am brand new to your work, through your Middle Earth covers and compositions, and was just scrolling through to see what else you'd done, and I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS, BUT GOSH DID IT JUST MAKE MY LIFE. This is one of my top five ships forever, and I'm always really excited about other people seeing it/shipping it/loving it as much as I do. It is so much there on the screen. I mean, it was a show deliberately built around their friendship and the chemistry of the actors, it was bound to come off as romantically (or at least sexually) charged. They set out to make a show about this friendship, and of course it's so emotional, and so powerful, and so perfect that people relate to it is a romantic relationship. Or maybe it's just Martin Freeman's existence.
Anyway, I did find that the lyrics don't really sound very Sherlock to me. I think they are spot on for what he'd actually be feeling on the matter, but he'd use much less sentimental words, to my mind. I've always imagined him having an aversion to the words "heart" and "love"... So, I guess, for me it works as being ABOUT what Sherlock feels, but not as literally what he's thinking. That's just my thought on it, though, and I do love the song. And the timing on the Reichenbach Fall clips. I. My soul. How could you. Perfect.
