Yeah I stim like crazy when there’s tension or an argument. Frustratingly it can sometimes make it look like I’m gesturing to “go away” or “screw off” or “talk to the hand” or just being dismissive. Even my parents who know me and know about my autism and how it impacts me sometimes take it the wrong way and I have to clarify I’m just stimming. For me, when it’s tension based stimming, it often means a lot of erratic hand motions, hence it looking like rude gestures or being dismissive sometimes. I also struggle achieving the right tone a lot. I can understand tone just fine usually, it’s just my own tone I have a hard time with. I can’t really tell if I’m achieving the tone I want or not a lot of the time, which all too often leads to something innocent sounding much meaner and more aggressive than intended. It’s especially difficult with things like sarcasm where the tone I want is so very specific and doesn’t have as much room for failure. 14:57 Not only did she have completely non-functional breast shapes on her shell, but she also had a super long facemask like it was a ponytail. The character was named Venus De Milo, keeping with the renaissance art theme, but where the male turtles were named after artists, she was named after a painting making her a subject instead of actor. I get most people don't know female renaissance artists, but there were many. I'd have gone with Artemisia after Artemisia Gentileschi (I watched a movie about her in art school, so the name stuck in my head).
I'm thinking that she's also named Venus based off the Greek Goddess of lust (might be of Love, feel free to correct me there. It's been awhile since I've read up about Venus so I could be entirely wrong here.)
As a Search Engine Optimization Specialist, I can assure you that anyone posting "GIRLS" or "BOYS" in titles isn't really gendering stuff. Thing is, when looking for items, the titles are the MAIN SOURCE used as keywords and BOYS/GIRLS are words used a lot by customers. This isn't a seller issue, the issue comes from the website itself. Lot of words are banned as keywords for a reason and genders could become part of them, but it isn't the case at the moment and are worth putting in titles.
Because if you put too many keywords, it backfires by making the title unreadable, makes the product look cheaper and makes it unclear what the targetted audience is. Most websites also put a limit to the amount of characters you can put as keywords, so using SEO tools you can analyze the market and choose the right ones for you targetted audience. The website also tracks the incoming traffic and if a majority of females show up because you've written FEMALE, it will be more susceptible to be shown to other females. If you mix'em up, your targeted audience becomes broader and a common rule of thumb is that talking to everybody means talking to no one.@@WiseKayeoss
@@WiseKayeoss Because if the potential customer is explicitly including "for " in their searches, it seems likely they might then subsequently be put off by the title also containing the words "for ."

Like all items on online shop stores here in Taiwan are a shotgun of SEO key words. If this is a search optimization thing and not cultural thing, shouldn't the gendering be international? Like, do we have vetted data that directly correlates requiring "boys" or "girls" as key terms to higher traffic? Could it be that it is just something that people first gendered "just because" and later became a self-fulfilling prophecy?
as a female who loves big sticks and has wanted to be an astronaut for most of my life, I was gutted to find out this way that I can't because I'm not male 😢
My condolences! I'm sad too - I didn't even know i wasn't allowed to happily find nice sticks and take them! I must be lucky nothing bad happened to me there!
According to these standards I'm much more of a "guy" than a "girl" based on everything here. I have always had a deep fascination with sticks, I take them home and decorate my apartment with them _(and rocks, I love rocks and have a decent sized collection of just... Nice rocks I've found)._ I *LOVE* dinosaurs, always have and always will. The only setting I like pink in is when I dye my hair neonpink. The "Batman-spa" speaks to me on a level I never thought possible, Batman is A-MA-ZING! When I was a kid and teen my dream was to become an astronaut, archaeologist, professional football player _(or "soccer" as Americans call it),_ a firefighter or a war journalist who traveled to warzones and wrote, filmed, photographed and reported what happened there _(I base this comment on the coloring books, none of the "girl" ones - on that cover - were jobs I ever wanted when I was young)._ And don't even get me started on that "movie recommendations" post. OOOUUFFFHH!!! That one just made me wanna puke. And, on top of everything I've already mentioned I'm Bisexual, and according to that post only men could be Bi. So, I guess I'm a man now. *Fuck.* This entire thing makes me so fucking *angry* that there are people out there who's making it harder for kids and teens, and even adults, to be accepted for who they are and what they like. I'm lucky to have parents who were *very* anti everything that's just pointlessly gendered and they have always let me choose how I want to dress and look and what I wanted to do when I was a kid. But there are so many kids out there who aren't as lucky as me, and that makes me truly sad.
I love that so much for you, Tessie! I can envision my own apartment decorated like some kind of beautiful outdoor sanctuary going from your description of sticks and rocks there. ^^

I've heard the chess thing explained as "Men tend to dominate women in chess because men are more likely to take the risky play" which still doesn't make sense to me. If they're on equal footing, but the men take the risky play, shouldn't the women be able to see through that? Wouldn't it still be okay for men and women to compete in chess?
It's a bit more than that actually, the male brain just understands chess better. Much like the female brain is better at social interaction, the male brain is better at analytical thinking. So for these style of games if you had a woman with a male brain (trans-woman) they would likely dominate the competition. Since this is a well researched state of affairs and has a lot of statistical data to back it up, I would not consider this one pointless, rather it is required for fair play.
So I've seen this gendered chess a few times lately so I did some research to see if what the reason is. The intention of female only leagues is to encourage more women to play.Women tend to play less chess, so less get to tournament level. Only one woman has ever reached to the top ten in world by official rankings. Another interesting reason to keep them gendered is from a study that put players against each other in online games. When the women didn't know the gender of their opponent, they would win about half, so not really a skill issue. But if the woman was told they're playing against a man (wether they actually were or not) they would play more passively and less aggressive, and would only won about 25% of the time.
@@Ishlacorrinactually, it's been proven that trans people have brains matching their gender rather than their sex, so a trans woman should be on roughly the same level as a cis woman, no?

“Barbie movie for men” I think that’s already just the Barbie movie, tbh. It was primarily my male friends that got the most hyped for it, talked about it the most, and had a boys’ night going to see it together. Also Phelan Porteous/Phelous has a video series talking about each episode of that Ninja Turtles show (and also pointing out the weird regional censorship). It is INSANE! Like…. I cannot even describe it. You have to either watch the show itself or watch his videos about it to really understand just how insane it is. Side note: the 4 OG turtles are all named after famous artists but when they meet that girl turtle, who has been living in China and going by a Chinese name her whole life, they decide to literally rename her and not only that but they name her after a PIECE of art (Venus, after the famous sculpture) rather than an art*ist*. So that’s a whole new level of objectification AND steamrolling over her culture all in one! Like…. that’s pretty messed up, guys!

Okay, for the men's'/women's pool entrance, this is from a bygone era, and usually only appears on rather old indoor pools (we had one in the smallish town I learned to swim in) and may be more common in Mormon communities. Inside the building, you'll likely find a rail, or mountings, that would allow the pool to be divided with a temporary divider. This was for ye olde timey 'decency'. It would allow married men (and boys too young to marry, but otherwise of "that" age) and married women (and girls as noted) to swim without allowing strangers of the opposite sex to view their bodies. It would be removed for mixers of unmarried men and women of marriageable ages, or for public swimming for those that don't hold those beliefs. some places continue to use the divider in order to give privacy to groups that book part of the pool by reservation, such as for parties.
11:02 my parents usually go to sleep near the river in a small town lost in the mountains. I usually prefer to stay at my house in the city (my family in that town is loud as hell so I feel alone in the middle of nowhere) One time a year ago more or less, my mom came home with a HUGE stick, she just took it with her bc it looked nice, but it's been several months in the floor and I sometimes hit my feet with the huge stick I literally get hurt, you can't imagine how big and cool it is ngl
even as a girl, i kinda get the stick one. ig because they have like cool shapes or patterns or something? seeing that one reminded me of a time my brother found this tall staff-looking stick on a hike and didn't want to part with it. i'd say it's just because some sticks look cool...

Actually the perfume one has a point it's just worded weird: it wants you to put perfume in places that naturally have a lot of body heat and blood vessels close to the skin because those places sweat and smell stronger. Also, around the neck and jawline is a place where people's noses tend to naturally end up if they hug.

For the "finding cool sticks" thing, I think the "female" equivalent would be collecting cool shells and rocks you get from the beach. Half the time you forget about them and keep them in a jar, other times you use them in crafts. I don't think its specifically a gendered thing, I just think we as humans like collecting little trinkets we think look cool.

A queen size mattress is 150/160cm x 200cm if I remember correctly, so the mattress must be 190/200cm x 240cm. On vacation as a little girl, I once created a club with my sister and two other girls from the campsite where we all had one really cool stick and you weren't in the club if you didn't have one. My sister and I brought our two sticks home and I kept mine for years. Don't say it's a boys will be boys thing. All of the genders can do it. It's kind of shocking how the idea that there is still somehow a difference is ingrained in our minds, no matter how 'woke' we are.
1:22 Even for km/h, that's well above most legal speed limits even for highway standards. At first I thought this picture was taken in Germany, but then figured that they're probably too prideful about their own language to ever use English words in their infrastructure. The only thing that could otherwise come to mind for me is Ireland, as they're one of few English-speaking countries that uses km/h and I've seen this kind of mocking speed limit signage from there before.
10:27 my mom has to put up with my bs collection of sticks in her garage, I’ll always bring home another stick, nobody can stop me. doesn’t matter that I’m a girl, I said it already, nobody can stop me.
12:46 little known fact: in English, "he" can also be a neuter pronoun, meaning it doesn't necessarily have to refer to males. If one doesn't want to refer to someone of unknown gender by using singular "they", he can use "he" as the neuter pronoun. So, the fortune cookie did nothing wrong lol. Also, it appears to want to replicate an old style of text, which would mean the usage of pronoun makes even more sense, as back in the day, using "he" as the neuter pronoun was much more widespread, than using singular they.
I still remember learning this decades ago, when in doubt use he/him was the rule. Been done that way for so long that almost every instruction manual would use that style of language. I also remember when D&D swapped to using she/her as the default for unknown gender and it was rather jarring to read.
This used to be the case but it's deprecated now. It's one way the language has progressed. BTW the pronoun for "one" is "one". If one wants to write one's sentence using "one", one must use the pronoun "one".

Or possibly both at once. It’s pointless either way though, because the newer generation is starting to realize that cash and/or online money transfer is better than gift cards. Honestly at this point, I would only buy gift cards. If it was for someone I don’t like but I’m obligated to get a gift for.

I feel like the spontaneous activities boys do (like digging holes at the beach, playing with sticks) would be done by girls too but if a girl starts digging then the parents tell her she will be dirty/sand will get into her hair and they take her away to wash her hands. If she picks up a stick, she is told it is dirty and dangerous. Parents find it weird if a girl plays with dinosaurs, action figures and toy cars. They are weirded out if their precious little girl does not play with dolls. The same way how scared they get when their boy wants to play with dolls. It is so sad... I wish we would just... raise all kids the same way without shunning them for what they want to play. Let them be kids. Let them dig holes, pick up sticks, play with whatever toys they want without feeling ashamed in front of people. Because kids pick up on it and eventually give up their favorite toys just to not disappoint their parents. Which eventually creates bitter adults.
my parents actually raised me and my sister in a very gender neutral way, which I'm grateful for. I had both "girls" and "boys" clothes, I had dolls and toy cars, my parents never told me "no, that's for boys". I still turned out trans (afab non-binary with a strong desire to have a male body), but that's a whole different story. sadly, no matter what the parents do, their kids will always pick up gender norms somewhere else...I remember wearing dungarees to daycare and feeling insecure because I thought I "looked like a boy".
0:30 They are actually not for the same set of places (if those names are any indication). The HIM card has Footlocker on it, HER doesn't. HER has Vrl Grl on it, HIM doesn't. Which is just plain stupid (and maybe even misleading).

*Fuck.*
This entire thing makes me so fucking *angry* that there are people out there who's making it harder for kids and teens, and even adults, to be accepted for who they are and what they like. I'm lucky to have parents who were *very* anti everything that's just pointlessly gendered and they have always let me choose how I want to dress and look and what I wanted to do when I was a kid. But there are so many kids out there who aren't as lucky as me, and that makes me truly sad.

That kinda sounds like bullshit, like are u gonna use that argument to deny wonem getting into science and shit? Weirdos
