That's something I would expect Luigi to show, but not Mario since he's usually stoic. Also, the blue one, yellow one and green one were funny!
I wished that all of the paint effects were scripted in this battle so everyone can experience the whole battle, but unfortunately at this point in the game, most people would be using their strongest attacks and go straight to the 2nd part in 2-3 turns.

These could be classified as school students for some reason. For example Red: that surprisingly really aggressive student. Orange: the timid kid who is always just lonely Yellow: the dance club kid Green: the kid who forgets their homework because they were to tired Blue: the kid who is just really depressed and doesn't talk much. Purple: the kid who always gets hurt on accident, sometimes it's tripping over a rock and sometimes it's falling down a flight of stairs, this kid can't catch a break.

The whole paint changing Mario's attitude is a great idea. Too bad it's only in this fight and no where else. Oh yeah and the music is great on its own and when Mario's emotion changes. Although pretty much every Nintendo title atleast has a decent soundtrack.
I love that ROY of all people managed to come up with this many status effects with nothing but a Bill Blaster and a whole lotta paint buckets. I also really like how each one fools with the music too; the presentation in this game is so nice!
It'd be cool that, if after this battle, Huey teaches you how to splat yourself with your own paint. Although, blue, green, and orange would do different things.

Red: that surprisingly really aggressive student.
Orange: the timid kid who is always just lonely
Yellow: the dance club kid
Green: the kid who forgets their homework because they were to tired
Blue: the kid who is just really depressed and doesn't talk much.
Purple: the kid who always gets hurt on accident, sometimes it's tripping over a rock and sometimes it's falling down a flight of stairs, this kid can't catch a break.

Self-conscious does not mean shy. The orange paint gives Mario the feeling of self-conscious to preserve, or save paint, therefore only using pre-painted cards.

There is a way I found out to avoid this?
1) Put on a frog suit.
2) Get 1-Up mushroom from battle spinner.
So, if my instincts are correct, basically......
Red=Rage/Anger
Blue=Sadness
Green=Laziness
Yellow=Happiness/Joy
Purple=Pain
Orange=Timidity
Does that sound about right?
they really should a make it that the effects trigger when you have a overflow of paint. you can still use the paint it is but it only ends when the paint bars return to normal

Pink- Doesn't hurt Roy because of his kindness.

Grey- Player's control of Mario weakens as he's distracted by his fears in his mind.
Periwinkle- Mario is too busy enjoying himself so no control at all.

The whole paint changing Mario's attitude is a great idea. Too bad it's only in this fight and no where else. Oh yeah and the music is great on its own and when Mario's emotion changes. Although pretty much every Nintendo title atleast has a decent soundtrack.
