I beat it when I was like 10, it was super hard but ya know, I was a kid and had nothing better to do so I didn't have much of a problem vigorously mashing buttons for hours.
+LSuperSonicQ the mystery is not really solved doo dah doodah where is this game I don't know oh doo day day gwine to find all night gwine to find all day looking though lost media wiki god damn day this a song for this mystery its parody of Camptown races
+LSuperSonicQ I got to say this is an interesting channel I was wondering if you could talk about the lost episode of The Wacky Adventures of Ronald McDonald
I could see the old maze idea being implemented as a minigame on a larger Starfy project, the same way there were occasional minigames peppered throughout the Starfy DS game (which I LOVE, btw). Maybe there could be time-trial mazes that net you some pearls based on your completion time, and you could use the pearls to buy outfits or other goodies for Starfy.
Starfy also appeared in super princess peach for the ds as an easter egg! There were three different levels where you could enter a specific room repeatedly for a chance to see and fight starfy, but he was very elusive and quick to disappear even if you did find him.
I personally feel that we'd have seen Starfy arrive stateside in 2005 in the DS' early years and we would have at least 2 entries in the series by now, if the series had debuted on the original Game Boy back in 1998. The Legendary Starfy (Densetsu no Stafi 5) was a most-pleasant DS title when it was first localized in 2008, but I really would have appreciated re-releases of the older entries, or at least new releases in Japan to soon become localized. I mean, I was *REALLY* hoping for a Starfy on 3DS...
I love Starfy. The Legendary Starfy for the DS was one of my first video games I ever played and completed. It will always have a place in my heart beside Kirby Superstar Ultra and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. :)
My brother had the legendary starfy, but I never played it as far as I remember, probably because my favourite game at the time was kirby super star ultra and whenever I watched him play it I dismissed it as a kirby ripoff because I'm pretty sure he had the ability to change powers and has a cutesy design like kirby. Anyways we had a habit of getting our games lost, especially ds ones, and both of those games have been lost. I still have the box for both of them in my room and I am planning on playing starfy. I thought this was a sequel because it was called the legendary starfy and I thought that every beginning game in a series was only named after the main character, and it had an origin story of either the villain or the protagonist. It turns out I was right about it being a sequel, but it was the only one released in English.
I never knew the GBC version of Stafy was actually playable at one point, neither did I know the website was still up... And that's because I'm a long-time fan of the series! Still though, I'm so glad to see that version in action, even if it's on a super-low-quality guerrilla-style recording, and it looked good! It looked close to complete!
I adored Starfy on DS, and I could have sworn I played a GBC version of the first game you mentioned on an emulation station I have that's full of stuff like that and other roms, even some for unfinished/unreleased games. I'll look for it again sometime and let you know, I could have confused it for the GBA version as well.
I would LOVE to see Chibi-Robo and Starfy be put as fighters in the next Smash brothers game! It could be possible because Starfy was an assist trophy in brawl and so was little mac and little mac became a real fighter, so its possible for starfy to be one too! And as for Chibi-Robo all I can say is that he is still getting new titles like the one on 3DS and he was very popular in the smash ballot! So I think it would be great and very possible for both of these characters to be playable on hopefully Smash for the Nintendo Switch, lets all pray, hope, and demand for it guys!
When I was little I bought Densetsu No Starfy 2 in a garage sale, I fell in love with the game and still can't understand why they haven't ported them to English or make new games. When I got a little older I got The legendary Starfy DS and again fell in love. Starfy is one of my favorite Nintendo characters and has it's charms! When I was even older I eventually ordered Statfi 1 and 3.
Did you know that starfy also made an appearance in the DS game 'Super Princess Peach' as a reoccurring character who will disappear quickly after appearing.
Surprised to see some demo footage I downloaded long ago not featured here. It's on TH-cam though, but for a second I thought maybe I should share it...
It met the same fate as the remake of "For Whom the Frog Bell Tolls". But at least in Stafy's case, the GBC game was more or less released. The GBA game has surprisingly low quality sound effects relying on legacy GBC sound hardware, as well as awkward transitions interrupting gameplay whenever characters talk (probably a remnant of the GBC version and other similar GBC platformers being unable to fit the text font in memory at the same time as Stafy's sprites - looking at this game's tile memory with VBA's debugger it does the exact same behavior loading out playable sprites for cutscenes even though there's more than enough EMPTY memory in the GBA at that time to fit both). It's a GBC up-port through-and-through with just minimal graphical enhancements, and these aspects I mentioned were completely gone from every other Stafy game. A happy ending, I guess. I can recognize many of these locations. The level design doesn't have to be scaled down to fit the tiny GBC screen, backgrounds were added rather than a dull solid color. I hoped you'd mention the cancelled American release by 2005 for this (or was it Stafy 3?) There were lots of canned games by NoA announced then backtracked on around that same period: - The Navi Trackers mode they removed from Zelda:FSA and said they'd sell separately, they even translated it for an E3 demo and solved the voice acting problem by just using initials - The fourth Hamtaro game, though that at least got a PAL release w/ a different translation - Ao no Tengai appearing on NoA's E3 2002 listing. That game's Japanese development is really interesting btw, another N64DD>GBA conversion, and even some English text tests in the ROM - The late-gen Art Style games on the GBA, even with a custom English name and planned for a 2006 release - Giftpia apparently on another listing, but I can't confirm this - A basically finished sports game on the GameCube for 2005 that even made its way to some press reviewers Some say that their Magical Starsign and Tales of Phantasia releases were meant to be "passion" projects meant to satisfy fan demand, but they bombed and NoA got cold feet apparently. But that's a LOT of cancelled projects for that timeframe, especially adding projects already being cancelled on the Japanese side (Kirby GC, Super Paper Mario, Kirby Tilt'n Tumble 2, a new Donkey Kong platformer that was repurposed as extra content for a New Play Control version, Stage Debut...) What happened exactly back then?
I was rewatching this video (has it really been 3 and a half years? As a notification squad member who's watched all your videos, on the day of upload, from then to now, I'm surprised it's been that long!) and realized that the spiky enemies at 2:47 look a lot like the famous Gordos from the Kirby series. In fact the sprites and animation (with the spikes emerging and retracting) seem to be the same as Gordos appear in Kirby's Dream Land and Dream Land 2.
In the final game, they still look like Gordos, sans the eyes in place of more spikes. However, there are similar enemies in the minigames (I don't remember which) where they have their eyes closed and their mouths are open with teeth showing in a snickering animation.
I played the legendary starfy and I still play it also I remembered starfy when i played ssf2 and one of the assist trophys was starfy then I remembered my DS but my starfy game was lost so I bought it But the bad thing is that it was kinda expensive but it worked
I wonder if Starfy was on Game boy or Game boy color if he would have had multiple lives instead of just one so if he dies he can respawn where he died if he had more than one life remaining? Starfy only has one life in the Game Boy Advance game and if he dies it's game over. At least he has unlimited continues if he does die in that game.
Ok I’ve looked online and there’s apparently a version of Starfy 1 called “The Legendary Starfy Dream Champion Tournament” that u can still buy. Does anyone know what this version was used for, and if it’s particularly rare?
I know a little bit of Japanese from 1 semester, and I can say that Densetsu translates as Adventure in English. So it would be Starfy’s Adventure in English, unless there’s something I’m missing. Mistranslation or script error maybe?
Maybe we can hope that a prototype cartridge is found or someone stole it from spaceworld 2000, or just ask Tose if they still own something from the early years of starfy...
really dont get why they never released the games outside of japan, normally that just happens to late release titles, but this was a 2002 game with 2 sequels on the same console 🤔 is there some cultural thing i dont know maybe?
I grew up with Starfy and I honestly love it. I still have my copy, of the only American DS game. Can't get past the last level though lol
Eden BUTTON MASH, BUTTON MASH
Eden SAME
I beat it when I was like 10, it was super hard but ya know, I was a kid and had nothing better to do so I didn't have much of a problem vigorously mashing buttons for hours.
I had this game too! It was cool but starfy reminded me too much of kirby
same
Starfy is SUPER underrated, I hold the legendary starfy so close to my heart
Same with The Denpa men, its developed/made by Genius Sonority back in 2012. Its barely known and the Fandom isn't actually bad.
Starfy deserves more recognition....
A Switch title maybe?
Or y'know, port one of the other FOUR titles!
Aspen Attack! PLEASE
Aspen Attack! Yes! That would be amazing, starfy definitely deserves another game!
Everyone deserves a second chance yes please
Not much, but he got an event stage in Mario Maker.
when I think of stars in Nintendo I think of kirby
Ever since I found out about you, I have been pondering something. Why don't you have AT LEAST 50,000 subs?! Great videos and everything!
Hey thanks! I'm really flattered by comments like that.

Love me some Starfy
I LOVED playing starfy as a kid!!! I lost my game though :(
I'm thinking that the maze idea turned into the Kuru Kuru Kururin series, which is Japan-only except one game released in Europe.
That's an interesting idea- I never thought about it before, but it could be true.
Btw I love your channel
Is Kuru Kuru Kururin owned by tose?
@@kinopiko9382 no its owned by Nintendo like Starfy

Thanks for giving Starfy more recognition! I definitely think it deserves more, but I also think you deserve more.
How are u not popular my dude the channels great!
Starfy was one of my favourite game as a kid. it was cute and fun. I'm surprised lots of people don't know what it is
Came here after finding out starfy is coming to the nso
Starfy also appeared in super princess peach for the ds as an easter egg! There were three different levels where you could enter a specific room repeatedly for a chance to see and fight starfy, but he was very elusive and quick to disappear even if you did find him.
Wow, I played the DS ɡame of The Leɡendary Starfy. I feel so cool.

R.I.P Spaceworld 1990-2001
Ive been obsessed with this character since ive played the ds game as a kid

MaxZilla Gaming They both have potential. I would also like to see Rayman or Spyro in the next game.
Two games later......I’m dieing inside
I love your videos good job on this one.
still mad at toywiz for screwing me outta the plush ;-;
They screwed me out of getting a Microphone Kirby plush about a year or two ago too, so I feel your pain.
Oh my gosh my favorite video game character

I Had A Starfy Game On The DS
I just purchased Starfy 3 for GBA because I’m a huge Wario fan and I wanted to experience the cameo he has in it
I remember playing the DS game being demo'd at Walmart and never seeing it again, i thought it was a dream for several years
Starfy is probably one of the best video games I played as a kid. In my opinion he needs some more credit.
'Legendary' Starfy indeed
Did you know that starfy also made an appearance in the DS game 'Super Princess Peach' as a reoccurring character who will disappear quickly after appearing.

Oh my lord, I LOVED starfy as a kid! The game was so fun!
I love Starfy! I had the game on my DS. I hope a new game will come out eventually, maybe on the Switch
God I wish all the Starfy games would come here, plus I hope they make new games in the series as well!
I actually had the DS Starfy game, but I hid it a couple years ago because the ending of the game scared the absolute shit out of me, for some reason.
It met the same fate as the remake of "For Whom the Frog Bell Tolls".

Starfy is one of my favourite DS games
I played the Legendary Starfy and thought it was an amazing game!
I loved this game. Never forgetti
Lets keep our heads up. We found the Gold and Silver demo. At this point, anything's possible.
True tho
Starfy is an underrated classic
Starfy is such a underrated game.
I love Starfy and wish he had a new game made.
Wow great content! Surely youll get popular soon.

I LOVE STARFY!!!! Along with Kirby.
Densetsu No Starfy = "Legend OF Starfy"
"Legendary Starfy" would be "Densetsu NA Starfy" ( 伝説なスターフィ )

Duuude, I love Starfy!
praise starfy
I have the ds game
I have a starfy game, I feel proud
I love starfy

Ok I’ve looked online and there’s apparently a version of Starfy 1 called “The Legendary Starfy Dream Champion Tournament” that u can still buy. Does anyone know what this version was used for, and if it’s particularly rare?

Starfy needs a Switch game, probably called "The Legendary Starfy: Reanimated".
starfy's a starfish, not a zombie
@@KOT_AMV Where tf do you see Zombie? Yeah, stfu. A zombie is undead. Starfy is starfish and I never mentioned what Starfy was.

STARFY IS MAH BOI
the maze idea reminds me of this GB game called Bubble Witch
The Japanese name is stafy Densetsu no stafy
I've always wanted to play the Starfy game for the DS but, when I went to go buy it, it was sold out! :(
heads up! this game has a final boss like sonic colors on the ds, so get your finger ready for rubbing itself over the button
My childhood Jesus christttt

Wanna see starfy in four shades of green
Lets just wait starfy for switch.
When you realize the Japan only gba game Tomato Adventure was also planned on the gbc
What about that game
really dont get why they never released the games outside of japan, normally that just happens to late release titles, but this was a 2002 game with 2 sequels on the same console 🤔 is there some cultural thing i dont know maybe?
Damn, I wonder why the characters didn't do well over here?
Stafy.
The pokemon gold demo was dumped as a rom so.....anything can
Someone else remembers!
when you think of stars in nintendo you think of kirby you maniac
I know why the game will never come out in the US. It's cause people would think that Starfy is a Kirby ripoff even though Nintendo made it.
I remember starfy lol
I loved this game especially the final boss so much button mashing
(rubs button with all might, causing the bunnerian moon to crash into a giant dragon pirate in space, oof, and also hand breaks)
"Starfy's release was not as easy accomplishment" w8 wut
why am i seeing you on everywhere
Best DS game
If there going to be another starfy game, i want them to go back to the original designs of the characters. I'm not a fan of the puppet looks.
Omg and here I thought I was the only one who thinks that their designs in The Legendary Starfy game was weird!!!!!
Starfy is Kirby
3:53 you named the wrong console
Kinda funny at the same time
0:57 Whaaaat!? 1995!? O.O
Am i the only one that wants a starfy and kirby crossover?
No because I too want that to happen but unfortunately this is Nintendo we’re talking about
Can someone hook me up with a link to the original Starfy website
i wanna play starfy
grey and green gameboy
I have the ds version
Whats the website
he looks so much like kirby
Silver The Fox I think it was made by some of the same people
