Wow great video for this classic and one of my all time favorites. I would play my 45 over and over in the dark as I went to sleep at night wearing my Sennheiser (?) yellow headphones. My bucket list would have this song on it to see it live, loud, and of course in Human League extended remix style...but i would even scratch a live version off my list if Phil were to get in the studio and come up with some new mixes of his classics, like an hour of just Seconds, Love Action, Hard Times, Louise, etc.
I was at a bar the other night when I heard this for the first time in about forty years. I had totally forgotten about this tune. Once the drum intro was over I recognized it. My wife asked me what is this? What is this about? I said it's most likely inspired by the assassination of JFK. It's just so dark, foreboding, ominous, obscure, repetitious, dissonant, moody, pensive, and powerful all these years later...Wow!
This looks like it was a Fantastic show, seen HL a few times, but not in last 7 years, i've clearly been missing out, HL look on top form, this song is always powerfully atmospheric, mr. oakey looks the business here in the hood, almost half expect him to produce a bow 'n' arrow, lol. thanks to the uploader, very enjoyable.
On the heels of John Lennon's 80th birthday and creeping up on the 40th anniversary of his death this seems as relevant as in the case of JFK's assassination.
I am so so sorry to say this , but The Human League were one of my all time favourites bands in the 11-14 yr bracket, and i still love them. It is really sad and and painful to hear them playing now( at extortionate prices) , same with them all i guess. they charge for an over inflated ego, and not the music. sad, sad, sad
Powerful voice. A monumental keyboard structure. Hypnotic drumming. Here's the masterpiece!
What a perfect description!
My all time favorite Human League song. So deep.
Coolest and most tragic Human League song. Phil and the synths are brilliant.
One of my favorite songs by them!
Hypnotic!
just remembered this song - what a beautiful deja vu - amazing and wonderful

B-Side of "Don't you want me" 7 inch single - Seconds is about JFK assassination in November 1963.
Thought that was Phil on drums for a minute ....imagine that!!!
sooooo FN COOOOL!
I am very intrigued by the man playing percussion. I cannot take my eyes off of him.
Same here, that's why I kept him in the video as much as I could.
The conundrum, happy beat and tragic lyrics.
Ty Rob this is very cool. Were you at this concert?
Yes Calvin, I filmed this.
