The Bard of Barking! 😋 This brought back to memory of my friend Ian insisting we get up on Sunday morning at Glastonbury Festival, to see The Bard of Barking and Wiggy play second on the bill at the acoustic tent 1982 or 1983. He'd not long released his first album. A truly unique talent, who always reminded me of the lovely Patrik FitzGerald! "I'm a rock'n'roll rebel with hope in my heart!" Two men whose gigs I never managed to walk away from, without a HUGE smile on my face and positivity in my heart. Oh to be so young and very beautiful again!

I am currently living under the rise of a fascist authoritarian dictatorship, and only 1/2 of my country sees it. I live in a coal mining town that was, every man I knew during the 70s worked down for NCB my wife's father designed an started a company making donkey jackets for miners, coal board firemen, and th steelworks a and not forgetting the police, yes they needed them too, because of Billy and the song I got myself a guitar and for the first few years spent 4hrs per day practicing and learning the guitar. I joined a shortlived group and used a makeshift recording studio in a town not too far away called me Brough and still play to this day 2020 I've been married divorced been inside and played live in Yorkshire villages of a weekend my kids have grown up and got kids of their own but my guitars have always been with me right from the beginning.
I think we ask agree the song is a bit special, this really shows what a talented singer Billy is. Pitch perfect live, and it's not a simple melody, while he's investing all the dynamics in the guitar part. Great performer.

Billy Bragg reminds me why I believe in my people, the English working man and woman.We might be benighted and burdened but we still endeavour to be decent and tolerant where we can.People literally risk there lives to come to live here because there is HOPE here still and a chance to thrive.Billy reminds me of this and I admire and thank him for it.It's important to remember who we are and where were from,but also to remain faithful to our promise in the future.

I live in a coal mining town that was, every man I knew during the 70s worked down for NCB my wife's father designed an started a company making donkey jackets for miners, coal board firemen, and th steelworks a and not forgetting the police, yes they needed them too, because of Billy and the song I got myself a guitar and for the first few years spent 4hrs per day practicing and learning the guitar. I joined a shortlived group and used a makeshift recording studio in a town not too far away called me Brough and still play to this day 2020 I've been married divorced been inside and played live in Yorkshire villages of a weekend my kids have grown up and got kids of their own but my guitars have always been with me right from the beginning.
That. Was. Brilliant.

I think we ask agree the song is a bit special, this really shows what a talented singer Billy is. Pitch perfect live, and it's not a simple melody, while he's investing all the dynamics in the guitar part. Great performer.
