I think EliGE misunderstood the question at the end about HE's. Twistzz comment was about the audio queue you get when dealing damage with an HE (similar to the feedback you get when hitting someone with a bullet). I think EliGE thought he was talking about the direct impact sound. so for example if you throw an HE into a cubby that you don't know if someone is there, now you get the audio queue and you know they are 100%.
I’m only half way through, but I’ve got to say, this has been one of the most enjoyable episodes yet. I could listen to EliGE talk about CS for days on end. Great stuff!
cadiaN has played in a North American TSM and Rogue for big parts of 2016 and 2017. I don't think there will be an issue with english communication for him.
super interesting interview. especially hearing his take on how TL relied on Yekindar to fix everything. He stood up for Yekindar big time and I really appreciate that. I also really liked how he held himself accountable on several issues. To me, this is a sign of a mature competitor. Also, cool insight on how he discovered the best method for him to problem-solve his gameplay issues, which was something he had to figure out, and something yekindar helped him with.
@donjam33 how he attempted to run the team in a similar fashion to VP and how he approached the game came from Jame, it can be seen on Jametime Yekindar Interview, Liquid was trying to imitate that CIS system and integrate CIS players and kick Elige.
In regards to the stronger nades I had see people take a death in a situation where they normally would have survived, my speculation has been thay it may have somthin to do with the volumetric smoke data, the nade will do more damage in smaller places like construction on over pass or in monster, vs out in the wide open
I wish the people you brought on were as open as this. It often feels like the guests want to open up but stop short. Elige said fuck it. This was fantastic.
In regards to the baseball statkeeping, the only real manual stuff has to do with how certain plays are scored. So whether a ball put in play is recorded as a hit, out, error, etc. A lot of the analytics that people actually look at about players are just variations of this basic information. However, there is also data collected by Statcast, which looks at more technical numbers that cannot be observed by humans like spin rate on a pitch or exit velocity on a hit. Baseball is just fundamentally different to CS in my mind because there are a limited number of true outcomes that make manual data collection more easy and reliable. However, I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility for AI to be able to determine some of the things you guys were talking about.
Instead of removing the $1400 loss bonus, it would be better to remove the $1900 stage and maybe also the $2900 stage too. If you just remove the $1400 stage, it will also benefit the team that has the stronger economy by giving them $500 after a singular lost round, making their economy harder to break as well. With fewer rounds and thus less time to recover, you want a stronger economy for the losing side, but not necessarily for the winning team. Another rarely mentioned possible change would be to lower the maximum amount of cash a player can have so you can have fewer full buys saved up in the bank when you start losing multiple rounds in a row.
I am happy EliGE has been part of HLTV Confirmed! :) Hearing EliGE's thinkin' has been great! Maybe EliGE will be playin' Counter-Strike at forty. :) Heart hands!
I think some music is needed in the background of the nerves of steel segment. It doesn't feel like it stands out much from the rest of the podcast. Great insight from elige and good questions.
RE: 57:37 as someone who is just mildly into sports but also consumes a good bit of sports youtube, Baseball I think has been recording stats since damn near its inception with even more and more in depth statics covering different metrics that use alot of different factors to calculate these numbers. Things like Fielding/Hitting/Pitching of course but then even crazier stats such as a play adding to a teams win probability [WPA] or even a specific players value to the team aka Wins Above Replacement [WAR] which I'd say the closest thing in CS as of now is hltv rating which from my understanding kinda captures both WAR & WPA). Idk how CS would be able to implement more nuanced/in depth stats like baseball as trying to find the same factors that account for baseball stats such as WAR is goanna be hard to fit perfectly 1:1. I will say having these advanced metrics may help provide alot of insight not just to viewers trying to get the bigger picture while better understanding the nuance of pro play, but also pros themselves seeing on paper what they are struggling/exceeding in and better able to pinpoint specific factors they can control that directly improve their play & subsequently their matrics. Also if anyone is interested in learning more about these in depth sorta baseball stats and seeing how some may be able to be applied to CS I highly recommend checking out @FoolishBaseball who makes baseball videos on a bjnch of random topics but all of them revolve around looking at these stats while providing an explanation of them in a way that's easy to digest and comprehend.
As a baseball fan and CS fan - I get you - and enjoy Bailey. HLTV ratings are good - but there are also 3rd party sites (think similar to baseball ref) like Leetify that quantify a lot of the game into certain stats that track and you can view to try and get better at them. Check it out
Easiest move would be cadian to Astralis instead of borup. I feel that cadian is a better rifler than borup, and blamed wouldn't have to IGL. Cadian would also have a superstar awper in device, which he didn't have in his bag while with Heroic.
Doesn't work role-wise at all. b0RUP is like the polar opposite of cadiaN as a player and what he does on Astralis. cadiaN needs the AWP and if he's joining Astralis, dev1ce would be the rifler not cadiaN. Remember, dev1ce is easily a Top 10 rifler in his own right whereas cadiaN is only good as an AWPer.
@@niigu cadian gets far more rifle kills per game than botrup, what are you talking about? I never said cadian is a good rifler, but literally any danish rifler would be an upgrade. IGLs also really don't need to frag, there are only a few in the top 20 that do frag consistently. If you think cadian on rifle is significantly worse than karrigan, hooxi, or apex you're delusional.

JT definitely under rated as a caller. it always felt like cols strats were good just had no fire power

JT has been a good caller since back in the ATK days. his numbers are usually bad but i somehow feel he has more impact than stats would suggest lol

Sounds like a politician answering PR questions. Yekindar will forever try to imitate Jame but will never replicate Jame.
