    @Auntlenasgirl, the twitching you are seeing is a defense mechanism that occurs when the chrysalis are moved or touched. When the larvae climbed to the top of the cup, you shouldn't disturb the chrystils for 1-2 until they harden, then you can hang them. The whole process takes 10-14 days.The chrysalis are ready to come out when you see several gold indentions down their back. Once they do emerge, make sure you have a food source readily available. Try 2 teaspoons of sugar and 1/2 cup water.

    i found a wild common caterpillar crystalis and i put it in a jar do i feed it the same food(s)
